        지형정보시스템을 이용한 임도노선의 선정에 관한 연구

        임도망의 종합적인 계획을 위하여 지형정보시스템을 이용하여 경남 남해군에 위치한 금산주변의 국유림을 대상으로 몇가지 노선선정 기준에 따라 임도노선을 선정 하였다. 종단물매를 고려하여 임도망을 계획한 결과, 총연장 및 임도밀도는 20.41㎞, 6.92m/ha로 나타났으며, 일부구간의 노선이 대상지역의 경계영역과 인접하게 선정되어져 임업적 측면에서는 그 효율성이 떨어지는 경향이었다. 종단물매만을 고려한 임도망의경우 최소비용경로에 의한 격자별 누적비용은 10구역으로 구분되었으며, 이때 최고 누적비용은 종단물매만을 고려한 결과 22,548의 값을 가졌다. 비용에 의해 선정되어진 임도망을 1노선과 7노선은 시험림 3임반의 경계점에서 중복으로 노선이 선정되었으며, 중복선정된 2노선의 연장은 2.72㎞로 나타났다. 그리고 4노선과 5노선에서도 0.8㎞가 중복 선정되어 총 중복된 연장거리는 3.52㎞로서 다소 높게 나타났다. 구조적인 측면의 종단몰매와 생산적인 측면의 투자효과를 최대화하기 위하여 이들을 조합하여 노선을 계획한 결과 총연장 및 임도밀도는 21.15㎞, 7.17m/ha로서 구조적인 측면의 임도망 계획결과에 비하여 높게 나타났다. 종단물매와 임목축적을 고려한 임도망의 경우 최소 비용경로에 의한 격자별 누적비용은 9구역으로 구분되 이때 최고누적비용은 55.065의 값을 가졌다. 비용에 의해 선정되어진 임도망의 분석결과 3노선과 7노선은 3임반에서 일부구간이 중복선정되어 중복된 2노선의 연장은 0.95㎞이다. 그리고 4노선과 5노선에서도 구조적인 경우의 대안임도와 마찬가지로 0.8㎞가 중복 선정되어 총 중복된 연장거리는 1.73㎞로 나타났다. GIS 기법에 의한 임도망의 계획은 각 대안별 평가를 통하여 최종 의사결정자가 최적의 임도망을 선택할 수 있는 의사결정지원체계로서 중요한 정보를 제공할 수 있는 것으로 평가된다. The purpose of this study is to suggest the proper method for planning an optimal forest road network in mountains forest using geographic information system (GIS) in the National Forest of Mt. Kumsan at Namhae-gun, Gyungsangnam-do. In the forest road network planning by the minimum longitudinal gradient, The total length was 20.41 km, and road density was 6.94m/ha. Some of road alignment selected in out-line of study area. So, it appeared that forest road have a low effectiveness in yarding function. The division area of mesh by accumulative cost divide into 10 area. The maximum value by cost path was 22,548. The road length overlapped by cost path was more long than that of mixed with the minimum longitudinal gradient and the maximization of investment effect as 3.52 km. In the forest road network planning by mixed with the minimum longitudinal gradient and the maximization of investment effect, The total length was 21.15 km, and road density was higher than that of the minimum longitudinal gradient as 7.17m/ha. The some of forest road selected in out-line of study area. The division area of mesh by accumulative cost divide into 9 areas. The minimum vlue by cost path was 55,065. The road length overlapped by cost path was more short than that of the minimum longitudinal gradient as 1.73 km. So, it appeared that forest road has an high effectiveness in yarding function. Therefore, it was considered that the GIS could provide an effective and reasonable solutions for planning of optimal forest road network.

      • Low-intensity treadmill exercise and/or bright light promote neurogenesis in adult rat brain

        <P>The hippocampus is a brain region responsible for learning and memory functions. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of low-intensity exercise and bright light exposure on neurogenesis and brain-derived neurotrophic factor expression in adult rat hippocampus. Male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly assigned to control, exercise, light, or exercise + light groups (<I>n</I> = 9 per group). The rats in the exercise group were subjected to treadmill exercise (5 days per week, 30 minutes per day, over a 4-week period), the light group rats were irradiated (5 days per week, 30 minutes per day, 10 000 lx, over a 4-week period), the exercise + light group rats were subjected to treadmill exercise in combination with bright light exposure, and the control group rats remained sedentary over a 4-week period. Compared with the control group, there was a significant increase in neurogenesis in the hippocampal dentate gyrus of rats in the exercise, light, and exercise + light groups. Moreover, the expression level of brain-derived neurotrophic factor in the rat hippocampal dentate gyrus was significantly higher in the exercise group and light group than that in the control group. Interestingly, there was no significant difference in brain-derived neurotrophic factor expression between the control group and exercise + light group. These results indicate that low-intensity treadmill exercise (first 5 minutes at a speed of 2 m/min, second 5 minutes at a speed of 5 m/min, and the last 20 minutes at a speed of 8 m/min) or bright-light exposure therapy induces positive biochemical changes in the brain. In view of these findings, we propose that moderate exercise or exposure to sunlight during childhood can be beneficial for neural development.</P>

        <P>A shortened 8-mer ssDNA aptamer was successfully truncated for four different tetracyclines with high affinity.         QTL mapping of agronomic traits using an RIL population derived from a cross between temperate <i>japonica </i>cultivars in rice (<i>Oryza sativa</i> L.)

        <P>To employ molecular marker-aided selection for developing <I>japonica</I> rice (<I>Oryza sativa</I> L.) cultivars with high yielding potential and good eating quality, we carried out QTL analysis for agronomic and grain traits using 231 recombinant inbred lines (RIL) from a cross between two temperate <I>japonica</I> cultivars, Suweon365 and Chucheongbyeo. A linkage map with 221 loci, including 134 simple sequence repeats (SSRs), 66 amplified fragment length polymorphisms (AFLPs), and 21 miniature inverted repeat transposable elements (MITEs)-anchored markers, was constructed covering 2,227 cM of the twelve rice chromosomes, with an average distance of 11.0 cM between markers. The proportion of polymorphic bands between parents averaged 19.5%, 12.9% and 42.3% for SSRs, AFLPs and MITEs, respectively. Construction of maps without AFLP or MITE markers indicated that expansion of this map is due to the incorporation of AFLP markers, and this result is consistent with previous reports. Twenty-seven QTLs for ten traits were identified over two years, and fourteen were consistently detected in two consecutive years. When the locations of each QTL detected in this study were compared with those in previous QTLs studies, eight QTLs for culm length, spikelets per panicle and, thickness, length and shape of grain, had not been reported in previous mapping studies, indicating potentially novel alleles of <I>japonica</I> rice. Interestingly, a cluster of seven QTLs, including heading date and grain morphology traits, was detected on the long arm of chromosome 7. The markers linked to these QTLs would be valuable in a marker-assisted breeding program for <I>japonica</I> cultivars.</P>

        The Thickness and Texture of Temporal Bone in Brain CT Predict Acoustic Window Failure of Transcranial Doppler

        <P>BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: Although transcranial Doppler (TCD) is useful for evaluation and treatment of ischemic stroke, temporal acoustic window failure (TAWF) limits its application. We performed this study to reveal whether initial brain CT of acute stroke patients predicted TAWF. METHODS: We performed TCD in 92 acute ischemic stroke patients (57 males, aged 38-84 years) with brain CT scans. We measured the thickness (BTW) and evaluated the texture of the temporal bone in acoustic windows shown in the CT scan with the use of picture archiving and communication system. The bone mineral density (BMD) of the vertebral bodies, femurs, and whole body was also measured. RESULTS: Doppler signals were adequately obtained in 121 (65.8%) of the 184 middle cerebral arteries (MCA) from both cerebral hemispheres. BTW and inhomogeneity of temporal bone, besides age, sex, and hypercholesterolemia, was strongly correlated with TAWF. BMD was not directly correlated with TAWF, but inhomogeneous temporal bone was correlated with lower BMD scores. If the brain CT scan showed thick (BTW >or= 2.7 mm) and inhomogeneous temporal bone, the possibility of TAWF was 93.5%, while if brain CT scan showed thin (BTW < 2.7 mm) and homogenous temporal bone, it was only 5.4%. CONCLUSIONS: The texture as well as the thickness of the temporal bone was the most important determinant of TAWF. When acute stroke patients had thin and homogeneous temporal bones in initial brain CT scan, TAWF was very rare, and loss of MCA signals on TCD specifcally indicated the absence of blood flow in MCA.</P>

        한국인들은 간편하고 편하게 먹을 수 있는 인스턴트 식품을 선호하며, 떡은 젊은이들에게는 매력적이지 않다고 생각합니다. 이에 떡 소비를 활성화하고 떡의 인지도와 활용도를 높이기 위한 연구가 필요합니다. 이번 연구는 떡 카페 경험이 고객 만족도와 고객 충성도에 미치는 영향을 분석하는 것을 목표로 하였고, 떡 소비 활성화와 떡 인지도와 활용도를 높이기 위한 계획을 도출하기 위해 설문 조사를 진행하였습니다. 연구 결과, 먼저 떡의 맛, 품질, 서비스, 분위기 등 다양한 요소를 고려하여 고객 만족도를 높이는 것이 중요합니다. 둘째, 고객 충성도를 높이기 위해서는 고객 만족도를 유지하고 향상시키는 것이 필요합니다. 셋째, 고객 충성도를 유지하고 강화하여 관계의 연속성을 높이는 것이 중요합니다. Koreans prefer instant foods that are easy and convenient to eat, and do not find rice cakes appealing to younger generations. Therefore, research is needed to activate rice cake consumption and increase awareness and utilization of rice cakes. The goal of this study was to analyze the impact of rice cake cafe experiences on customer satisfaction and loyalty, and to derive plans to activate rice cake consumption and increase awareness and utilization through a survey. The research results show that first, it is important to increase customer satisfaction by considering various factors such as taste, quality, service, and atmosphere of rice cakes. Second, to increase customer loyalty, it is necessary to maintain and improve customer satisfaction. Third, it is important to maintain and strengthen customer loyalty to increase the continuity of the relationship.

        Sloshing Load Assessments for a Midscale Single-Row FLNG

        <P>The application of the single-row arrangement system into a midscale floating production unit of liquefied natural gas platform is introduced based on numerical and experimental studies on sloshing load. An increased lower chamfer height is applied to reduce sloshing impact load. Wave scatter diagrams and extreme sea states at North West Australia are considered. In addition, the wave height limitation in offloading operation is taken into account. A sloshing severity index is calculated and compared with sloshing model test results. Sloshing pressure distributions are derived from proposed computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis, and the results are compared with those of model tests.</P>

        Optimization of slope angles of a barge-shaped FPSO from the towing stability and load perspective

        In this study, a parametric investigation is performed using CFD for towing stability and loads according to the forward and aft slope angles of a barge-shaped FPSO. The forward slope angle is considered in a range of 30e60 and the aft slope is examined in a range of 20e50. As a result of a comparative study based on CFD towing simulations, it is found that the yaw motion is damped out and stabilized when the aft slope is more than 40 regardless of the forward slope angle. The vortex contours in the y-axis plane near the aft slope are analyzed and it is observed that the vortex developed at the bottom knuckle is bent upward along the aft slope when the aft slope is less than 40, and completely fallen from the bottom knuckle when the aft slope is more than 40. Based on the results, a guide to forward and aft slope angles of a barge-shaped FPSO is presented from a practical point of view considering towing stability as well as towing load.

        Low Frequency of KRAS Mutation in Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinomas in Korean Patients and Its Prognostic Value

        OBJECTIVES: Low prevalence and prognostic relevance of KRAS mutations in Korean pancreatic ductal adenocarcinomas (PDACs) need to be validated with sensitive detection method. METHODS: Peptide nucleic acid (PNA)–mediated polymerase chain reaction (PCR) clamping was used to precisely detect KRAS mutation in 72 paraffinized tumor samples and was validated by pancreatic cell lines to compare the efficiency of direct sequencing. RESULTS: The PNA-mediated PCR clamping detected mutant allele proportions of as low as 0.5% against a background of wild-type DNA and was 20-fold more sensitive than direct sequencing through the validation of pancreatic cell lines. Peptide nucleic acid–mediated PCR clamping detected KRAS mutations in 47.2% of 72 PDACs. Low tumor cellularity and low PCR amplification efficiency led to be undetected or failed by direct sequencing in pancreatic paraffinized samples.KRAS mutations were an independent worse prognostic factor predicting a reduced progression-free survival rate in the postoperative chemotherapy group. CONCLUSIONS: Peptide nucleic acid clamp real-time PCR was a sensitive method for detecting KRAS status in paraffinized PDAC samples. We identified a low KRAS mutation rate among the Korean PDAC patients using PNA clamp real-time PCR, potentially implicating epidemiological characteristics. The low KRAS mutation rate and its prognostic role may suggest the further survival benefit in Korean PDAC patients.

        CFD study to predict the effect of a passing ship on moored ships in a confined waterway

        This study aims to present a practical practice to obtain a reliable numerical solution based on an Unsteady Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes (URANS) Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to estimate the forces acting on moored ships during a passage of a ship in a confined waterway. The motion of the passing ship is implemented using an overset-grid method. The convergence of the numerical solutions depending on the spatial and temporal discretization are systematically analyzed, and the computational results are validated with a recent benchmark test data. In particular, the effect of the initial state of the passing ship in the unsteady simulation is dealt with in-depth. The simulation results when the passing ship departs at a constant speed and when it accelerates from a standstill are compared, and the influence of undesirable wave radiation generated with the departure of the passing ship at a constant speed is discussed.
