Influence of Retrogression and Re-aging on the Exfoliation Corrosion Behavior of AA 7085 Sheets
( Ajay Krishnan ),( V. S. Raja ),( A. K. Mukhopadhyay ) 한국부식방식학회(구 한국부식학회) 2016 Corrosion Science and Technology Vol.15 No.4
An attempt has been made to understand the influence of retrogression and re-aging (RRA) on the exfoliation corrosion behaviour of AA 7085 alloy in comparison with the peak aged condition (PA). Immersion tests using ASTM G34 and studies involving electrochemical impedance spectroscopy showed that the RRA treated alloy provided higher resistance to exfoliation corrosion than the PA treated alloy. The improved resistance was attributed to the enhanced Cu content and the discontinuous nature of the grain boundary precipitate, which was revealed through transmission electron microscopy.
Primary Multiple Mesenteric Liposarcoma of the Transverse Mesocolon
Sandeep Sachidananda,Arunkumar Krishnan,Raja Ramesh,Sivaprakasam Kuppurao 대한대장항문학회 2013 Annals of Coloproctolgy Vol.29 No.3
Liposarcomas are common tumors arising in the retroperitoneum. However, a primary mesenteric liposarcoma is a rare entity and less than 50 cases have been reported so far. Further, a liposarcoma arising in the transverse mesocolon is very unusual, and cases of multiple primary tumors arising from the transverse mesocolon are extremely rare. We want to report a case of a multiple primary mesenteric liposarcoma arising from the transverse mesocolon in a 63-year-old female who was successfully treated by surgery. Because a primary mesenteric liposarcoma is a rare entity, it should be considered with the differential diagnosis of an abdominal mesenchymal tumor. It can be diagnosed preoperatively by using contrast enhanced computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. The treatment for such a liposarcoma is surgical resection with sufficient surgical margin; the role of adjuvant therapy has yet to be defined.
Capture of Volatile Organic Iodine Species Using Mordenites

The emission of off-gas streams from used fuel recycling is a concern in nuclear energy usage as they contain radioactive compounds, such as, 3H, 14C, 85Kr, 131I, and 129I that can be harmful to human health and environment. Radioactive iodine, 129I, is particularly troublesome as it has a half-life of more than 15 million years and is prone to accumulate in human thyroid glands. Organic iodides are hazardous even at very low concentrations, and hence the capture of 129I is extremely important. Dynamic adsorption experiments were conducted to determine the efficiency of sodium mordenite, partially exchanged silver mordenite, and fully exchanged silver mordenite for the removal of methyl iodide present at parts per billion concentrations in a simulated off-gas stream. Kinetic analysis of the system was conducted incorporating the effects of diffusion and mass transfer. The possible reaction mechanism is postulated and the order of the reaction and the values of the rate constants were determined from the experimental data. Adsorbent characterization is performed to investigate the nature of the adsorbent before and after iodine loading. This paper will offer a comprehensive understanding of the methyl iodide behavior when in contact with the mordenites.
