Fan Zu You devoted himself to guiding and assisting the Emperor in achieving the best leading government. He succeeded this through appointing a good selection of wise men and through studying the scripture, Emperor and acquiring much knowledge on governmental issues. Through his understanding of political theories and their application, he influenced the Emperor in recognizing the importance of citizens and focusing on the prevention of wandering of 'farming population' which was the basis of the State, abstaining from altering and abolishing his predecessor's legal system. He encouraged the Emperor tore form the system in a timely manner and cautioned him as to the true loyalty of certain of his subjects. He advised him to exercise his control and to severely punish traitors. By analyzing the cause of Tang's rise and Ssuei's Fall, after compiling 「Tang Jian」, Fan Zu You expected that Song Dynasty would prosper by taking into consideration valuable lessons learnt from past rulers and past history.「Tang Jian」was not only a lesson for the Song Dynasty but also influenced the next thousands years of history and rule. As a matter off act, Fan Zu You wrote numerous historical essays based on his political theory. He particularly pointed out that based on Song's beliefs and idealism the whole Suan Wu Men incident was an unforgivable misconduct which belittled the relationship' Sovereign-parents-siblings' because it did not follow the tradition and duty between 'Sovereign- subjects, father-son, upper-lower classes, young-old'. He also noted that Wu Ze Tien's nile was politically chaotic and was in total contradiction with the symbols and messages contained in 「Chun Chiou」's calligraphy technique as even more so, because the Emperor was residing in Pang Gou, the palace of the Crown Prince. Moreover, the 「Jin Gu Shi」(進故事), the Emperor's Almanac, ran Zu You cautioned the people to lead a frugal life rather than a luxurious one based on his political theory. He also demanded that a Monarch be made aware and be aware of the people's hardships and be more diligent in his selection of governors and that the Sovereign and his subjects should work in joint effort to defend the regal power. In addition, he ad vocated good governing by cutting off auspices and subjects' adulation, showing the Emperor's majesty and benevolence, rewarding good conduct, punishing evil doings and accepting honest and positive advice. Fan Zu You emphasized participating and supporting the Emperor and the importance of citizens by his political theory. He did not recognize Tang Tai Trueng's Suan Wu Men incident and Wu Ze Tien's reign. He was 8n economic historian who encouraged the Emperor to govern by rewarding the good and punishing the evil as well as listening to valuable advice.
