<P>A measurement comparison of complex reflection coefficient has been carried out among six national metrology laboratories in coaxial system at frequencies of 50 MHz, 2 GHz, 10 GHz and 18 GHz. Three 50 Ω coaxial mismatches (voltage standing wave ratios 1.2, 1.5 and 2.0) in 7 mm connectors have been measured for their complex reflection coefficients in the magnitude and phase form. The six laboratories participated are NPL India, KRISS Korea, SCL Hong Kong, CMS ITRI Taiwan, NMC Singapore and CSIR-NML South Africa (now NMISA). The National Physical Laboratory (India) acted as the pilot laboratory for the comparison. Good agreement between the values provided by the participating laboratories has been observed: the degrees of equivalence for all the values reported, with respect to the reference value and between pairs of laboratories, are less than their associated uncertainties, at a level of confidence of 95%.</P><P>Main text.To reach the main text of this paper, click on Final Report. One Pot Synthesis of Bioactive Novel Cyanopyridones

Cyanopyridone was prepared by the condensation of cyanoacetamide, substituted arylaldehydes and malononitrile in presence of pipyridine. The structure of the synthesized compound CP 1-20 was assigned on the basis of elemental analysis, IR, $^1H$-NMR and mass spectroscopy. These compounds were also screened for antimicrobial activity. The Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) of all the synthesized compounds was compared with standard drugs.
Diversity characteristics of four-element ring slot-based MIMO antenna for sub-6-GHz applications

This paper proposes four-ring slot resonator-based MIMO antennas of 75×150 mm<sup>2</sup> without and with CSRR structures in the sub-6-GHz range. These orthogonal-fed antennas have shown diverse characteristics with dual polarization. L-shaped parasitic structures have increased the isolation (i.e., >40 dB) in the single-element antenna over the band of 3.4 GHz-3.8 GHz. A set of three CSRR structures in the MIMO antenna reduced the coupling between antenna ports placed in an inline arrangement and enhanced the isolation from 12 dB to 20 dB and the diversity characteristics. The S-parameters of both MIMO antennas are measured and used to evaluate MIMO parameters like ECC, TARC, MEG, and channel capacity loss. The simulation results show the variations in the gain and directivity on exciting linear and dual polarizations. The diversity performance of the reported MIMO antennas is suitable for 5G applications.
Optimization of Glucoamylase Production by Colletotrichum sp. KCP1 Using Statistical Methodology

Glucoamylase is a key enzyme used in the food processing as well as in commercial production of glucose from starch. A natural fungal strain identified as Colletotrichum sp. KCP1 using 18S rDNA partial genome sequencing has been studied for optimization of glucoamylase production. Media components were screened and optimized through the statistical approach for the synthesis of glucoamylase in solid state fermentation using wheat bran as the substrate. The medium components influencing the enzyme production were identified using Plackett-Burman design. Among various variables screened along with wheat bran as major growth substrate, starch, whey, and casein acid hydrolyasate were found to be most significant. The optimum concentrations of these significant parameters were determined employing the response surface central composite design, revealing starch concentration (1.5 g),whey (0.1 mL), and casein acid hydrolysate (0.1 g) per 5 g of wheat bran for highest enzyme production.
