        한국어 학습자들의 학술적 글쓰기에 대한 인식 및 태도 연구

        Guo, JunHua. 2018. “A Study on Korean learners’ Awareness and Attitude about Academic Writing”. The Sociolinguistic Journal of Korea 26(3). 1~30. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the awareness and attitudes of Korean learners about Academic Writing and to identify the problems which should be solved in academic writing education for Korean learners. For this, 62 foreign students were conducted a questionnaire survey, and 18 of them were interviewed to elicit their attitudes, perceptions about academic writing. A result of analysis showed that students have a very negative attitude towards writing. Moreover, they are not aware of the importance of writing. Therefore, they are negligent of writing and do not actively participate in academic activities. Second, students know the connection between general purpose writing learning and academic writing learning, but they have no systematic understanding of Korean academic writing. They simply gain knowledge of writing by imitating. Third, although they showed a willingness to be good at academic writing, they lacked subjective initiative on writing learning. And their writing study was centered on TOPIK. In order to solve these problems, this paper suggested solutions from an ecological perspective: language knowledge entry, learning environment, and learner’s self - growth. First, it is needed to help foreign students to have a systematic knowledge of academic writing as soon as possible. Second, outside the classroom, students should be offered a variety of opportunities to participate in academic activities.third, it is necessary to study the internal motivation of interest which attracts students’ attention and allow them to have a positive attitude about academic writing.

        MicroRNA-217 Functions as a Tumour Suppressor Gene and Correlates with Cell Resistance to Cisplatin in Lung Cancer

        MiR-217 can function as an oncogene or a tumour suppressor gene depending on cell type. However, the function of miR-217 in lung cancer remains unclear to date. This study aims to evaluate the function of miR-217 in lung cancer and investigate its effect on the sensitivity of lung cancer cells to cisplatin. The expression of miR-217 was detected in 100 patients by real-time PCR. The effects of miR-217 overexpression on the proliferation, apoptosis, migration and invasion of SPC-A-1 and A549 cells were investigated. The target gene of miR-217 was predicted by Targetscan online software, screened by dual luciferase reporter gene assay and demonstrated by Western blot. Finally, the effects of miR-217 up-regulation on the sensitivity of A549 cells to cisplatin were determined. The expression of miR-217 was significantly lower in lung cancer tissues than in noncancerous tissues (p < 0.001). The overexpression of miR-217 significantly inhibited the proliferation, migration and invasion as well as promoted the apoptosis of lung cancer cells by targeting KRAS. The up-regulation of miR-217 enhanced the sensitivity of SPC-A-1 and A549 cells to cisplatin. In conclusion, miR-217 suppresses tumour development in lung cancer by targeting KRAS and enhances cell sensitivity to cisplatin. Our results encourage researchers to use cisplatin in combination with miR-217 to treat lung cancer. This regime might lead to low-dose cisplatin application and cisplatin side-effect reduction.

        Academic literacy is a requirement for international students to be succeed in challenging literacy tasks in the University. The aim of this study is to suggest the education of academic literacy from an ecological perspective. As a result, “collaborative learning” and “ecological language teaching strategy’ can be used in Korean education in order to develop students’ academic literacy. This paper also shows a model of essay writing class as an example.

        TOPIK 수험자의 쓰기 영역에 대한 인식과 태도 연구

        The purposes of this study are to investigate how TOPIK students perceive the writing area and analyze it from the point of critical assessment, and to suggest improvement directions of TOPIK writing assessment and Korean writing education. For this, 80 test-takers were conducted a questionnaire survey, and 20 of them were interviewed to elicit their thoughts, attitudes, perceptions about the TOPIK writing. As a result of analysis, the power of high - stakes testings such as TOPIK has a great influence on learners. TOPIK test-takers had difficulty and great anxiety about writing. They thought that to study for TOPIK writing is only for the sake of examination and that extra study was needed to improve their actual writing ability. Although the test-takers showed a willingness to write well in Korean, they had a negative attitude about studying writing. To solve this problem, it is necessary to solve problems of difficulty level in writing assessment such as ambiguous assessment criteria. In addition, it is also need to pay attention to the phenomenon of ‘test-oriented learning’ in Korean writing education, and to study the motivation of interest which attracts Korean learners attention and let them have a positive attitude about writing.

        An amplify-and-forward relaying scheme based on network coding for Deep space communication

        Network coding, as a new technique to improve the throughput, is studied combined with multi-relay model in this paper to address the challenges of long distance and power limit in deep space communication. First, an amplify-and-forward relaying approach based on analog network coding (AFNC) is proposed in multi-relay network to improve the capacity for deep space communication system, where multiple relays are introduced to overcome the long distance link loss. The design of amplification coefficients is mathematically formulated as the optimization problem of maximizing SNR under sum-power constraint over relays. Then for a dual-hop relay network with a single source, the optimal amplification coefficients are derived when the multiple relays introduce non-coherent noise. Through theoretic analysis and simulation, it is shown that our approach can achieve the maximum transmission rate and perform better over single link transmission for deep space communication.

        외국인 대학원생의 학위논문 서론 내용 구조 분석 연구

        The present study aims to analyze the structure of the introduction in Korean theses written by foreign graduate students. It examines the content and structure of the introduction in 30 theses, identifying problems in three components of the introduction: research purpose and necessity, previous research, and research characteristics and significance. Results are as follows. First, foreign graduate students have difficulty determining the necessity of the research by closely connecting historical facts, general facts, and educational status and describing them specifically and persuasively. Moreover, they tend to address the purpose of the research repeatedly or indicate the repeated purposes differently. Second, in terms of reviewing previous research, foreign students are likely to examine previous studies that are irrelevant to their research purpose or to select relevant studies from an excessively wide range. They also have trouble identifying problems with previous studies through evaluation. Finally, most foreign students clearly outline the characteristics and significance of the research and comply with the appropriate structure of research in their theses. Findings of this study can be used as baseline data to teach foreign graduate students, who are in the writing Korean theses course, the structure of the introduction. 본 연구는 외국인 대학원생이 한국어 학위논문의 서론을 어떻게 구성하였는지, 그 내용 구조를 분석하는 데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 한국어 학위논문 35편에서 서론의 내용 구조를 살피고, ‘연구의 목적 및 필요성’, ‘선행연구’, ‘연구의 특징 및 의의’의 세 단계에서 나타나는 문제점을 분석하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 먼저 학습자들은 역사적 사실과 일반적 사실 및 교육 상황을 긴밀하게 연결하고, 이를 설득력 있고 구체적으로 기술하여 연구의 필요성을 도출하는 것을 어려워하였다. 또한 연구의 목적을 지나치게 중복하는 경우가 많았고, 그 목적을 서로 다르게 기술하는 경우도 가끔 나타나고 있었다. 다음으로 선행연구의 검토에서는 주제와 관련 없는 연구를 살피거나 관련 연구를 너무 포괄적으로 살피는 문제가 있었으며, 학습자들은 선행연구를 평가하고 부족점을 도출하는 것을 어려워하였다. 마지막으로 연구의 특징과 의의, 논문의 구성은 대다수의 논문에서 명확하게 제시되어 있었다. 본 연구는 한국어 학위논문 쓰기 교육에서 서론을 구성하기 위한 기초적인 자료로 활용될 수 있다.

        Mechanical Behaviors on T-shaped Hook-connected Structure Made of 2.5D Woven Composites and TC4 Alloy

        This work designed a T-shaped hook-connected structure composed of a bottom plate made of 2.5D woven composites and a T-shaped plate made of TC4 alloy. In order to explore to its bending and tensile properties, the corresponding experiments were designed and performed. Then, based on the progressive damage model and an improved Hashin’s failure criteria, numeral calculations were conducted in ANSYS to study its bending and tensile damage propagations. Compared with experimental results, the maximum error is less than 20 %, and the damage modes are similar, which proves the rationality of numerical calculation. In addition, both the experimental and simulation results show that the fatal damage both occurs at the constrained plate of the bottom plate whether in bending or tensile processes. Specifically, the fatal failure occurs at the installed edges in bending process or at the sides of groove-middle to groove-edge in tensile process. This work provides a design reference for typical T-shaped hook-connected composite structure, especially the connector of blade and casing, which appear in engineering and has good engineering application value.

        Preparation, Characterization, and Microstructure of Poly(ε-caprolactone–co-2,2-dimethyltrimethylene carbonate) Using Metal-free Organocatalysts

        We investigated the random copolymerization of ε-caprolactone and 2,2-dimethyltrimethylene carbonate [poly(CL-co-DTC)] promoted by various imidazolium-based carbenes, including 1-isopropyl-3-p-methoxyphenylimidazol-2-ylidene [Catalyst (1)], 1-isopropy-3-p-methylphenylimidazol-2-ylidene [Catalyst (2)], and 1-methyl-3-p-methoxyphenyl-imidazol-2-ylidene [Catalyst (3)], all of which are new types of unsymmetrical N-heterocyclic carbene catalysts. The reaction was carried out in the presence of benzyl alcohol (BnOH) as an initiator in tetrahydrofuran. By varying the experimental conditions and the monomer feed composition, poly(CL-co-DTC) with high yield and molecular weight was prepared using the binary system Catalyst (1)/BnOH as catalyst/initiator.1H NMR and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) characterizations verified random structures of the polymer. GPC characterization further showed high molecular weights and narrow molecular weight distribution of the final product.

        Conserved Sequences of Replicase Gene-Mediated Resistance to Potyvirus through RNA Silencing

        Nuclear inclusion protein b (NIb) genes of three Potato virus Y isolates PVY-SD1 (O strain), PVY-SD4 (N strain), PVY-SD5 (NTN strain), and Tobacco etch virus isolate TEV-SD1 in Shandong Province were cloned and sequenced. Sequence analysis showed that the sequence homology of the entire NIb gene among the four viruses ranged from 65% to 95%. Hairpin RNA (hpRNA) constructs were designed based on five conserved regions derived from PVY-SD1 and introduced into tobacco plants. After asexual propagation, the transgenic plants were analyzed for resistance to PVY-SD1, PVY-SD4, PVY-SD5, and TEV-SD1. We obtained resistance ratios of 26.2%, 22.7%, 36.4%, 20.3%, and 21.7% to PVY-SD1. When inoculated with the PVY-SD5 virus, the transgenic plants had resistance ratios ranging from 2.4% to 15.9%, but no resistance at all to the other viruses, PVY-SD4 and TEV-SD1. No correlation was found between resistance of transgenic plants and the transgene copy numbers. Northern blot and small interfering RNA (siRNA) analysis demonstrated that the resistance was attributable to RNA silencing. Genetic analysis demonstrated that virus resistance was stably inherited in progeny T1 and T2. These results indicate that the siRNA molecules against conserved regions can confer virus resistance but are restricted to viruses with more than 90% sequence homology.
