Driving styles vary depending on various factors such as driver characteristics, street environment, traffic situation, vehicle performance, and weather conditions. Different drivers have different driving styles that cause variation in fuel economy with the same car and traffic conditions. Although it is known that driving style strongly impact on the fuel economy, existing knowledge about the relationship between driving behavior and fuel consumption is limited. Two on-road experiments were conducted independently in two different countries, i.e. Korea and the United Kingdom. In this study,46 participants, consist of 20 UK drivers and 26 Korean drivers, were asked to drive approximately 27km of UK road and 21km of Korean road, respectively. Driving data, including real-time fuel consumption, vehicle speed, and acceleration pedal usage were collected. The results suggested that the cultural factors, e.g. road environment, traffic design, and driver`s characteristics effected on driving styles and, consequently, fuel efficiency.

This paper suggests experimental approaches for identifying driver's cognitive workload using support vector machines (SVMs) with driving performance, physiological response and eye movement data. In order to construct a classification model for detecting high cognitive workload condition, driving simulation experiments were conducted. For the experiments, 30 participants (15 younger males in the 25-35 age range (M = 27.9, SD = 3.13) and 15 older males in the 60-69 (M = 63.2, SD = 1.74)) drove a simulated highway in a fixed-base driving simulator. While driving through 37 km of straight highway, participants conducted three levels of cognitive secondary tasks, i.e. an auditory delayed digit recall task, at specified segments for 10 minutes and their driving performance, physiological response and eye movement data were collected. In this study, the model performances with different combination of measures were assessed with the nested cross-validation method. As a result, it was demonstrated that the proposed SVM models were able to identify driver's cognitive workload with high accuracy. The best performance was achieved with a combination of the standard deviation of lane position (SDLP), physiology and gaze information. The best model obtained 89.0% accuracy, sensitivity of 86.4% and specificity of 91.7%.

본 논문은 연령, 성별과 같은 운전자 특성이 연비에 미치는 영향에 관한 비교 분석을 목표로 하고 있다. 운전자 특성에 따른 연비를 비교하기 위하여, 남녀성비와 연령에 균형을 맞추어 총 52명의 운전자를 모집하여 고속도로 상에서 실차 실험을 수행하였다. 즉, 실험 참가자들이 약 10km의 고속도로를 평소 자신의 운전 스타일에 따라 운전하도록 지시한 후, 연비와 주행특성을 관찰하였다. 그 결과 고속도로 주행 연비가 연령 및 성별에 따라 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 즉, 연령과 성별에 따른 운전 스타일 차이가 고속 도로 주행 연비에 영향을 미치게 되는 것이다. 이러한 결과는 에코운전교육 또는 에코운전 지원시스템 개발시, 연령과 성별의 차이를 고려하여 대상에 맞는 차별화 된 서비스를 제공하여 효과를 극대화시켜야 한다는 것을 의미한다.

본고의 목적은 한국어 위키피디아에서 ‘저명성(notability)’이라는 규범적 자원을 둘러싼 편집 논쟁을 통해 위키피디아 내 규범적 자원을 해석하는 경합에 참여하기 위한 ‘지식-주체’의양태 및 구성을 살펴보는데 있다. 위키피디아 내에서 이루어지는 편집 논쟁은 규범적 자원을 해석하고 그 해석에 대한 인정을 구하는 과정 속에서 그 행위 능력이 상이한 주체들에 의해 이루어지고 있으며, 위키피디아를 ‘집단 지성’으로 파악하던 초기 관점이 기초했던 기능주의적 행위자 모델은 이런 차이를 이해하는데 있어 한계를 보이고 있다. 이에 본고는 한국어 위키피디아에서 이루어지는 편집 논쟁 중 특정 콘텐츠가 독립된 항목으로 존재할 가치가 있는지를 판단하는 ‘저명성’이란 규범적 자원을 둘러싼 논쟁을 다루며, 구체적으로는 첫째, 인물의 ‘저명성’을 주장 혹은 반증하기 위한 과정에서 사용되는 구체적인 레퍼토리들을 검토하고, 둘째, ‘저명성’의 제도적 양태를 규정하기 위한 위키피디아 내 논쟁을 분석한다. 그리고 마지막으로 위키피디아 저명성 논쟁에서 나타나는 특징들이 행위자들 사이의 어떠한 구분을 만들어내는지를 파악한다. Using a series of debate on ‘Notability’ in Korean Wikipedia, this article is for making explicit the way how actors in Wikipedia contest for interpretation on a certain normative resource, and for showing the relationship between the interpretation contest and construction of ‘Knolwedge-subject’ in Wikipedia. Editorial Debates in Wikipedia consist of continuous negotiations about what is adequate ‘virtue’ to participate in the debate. Each individual participant differs in terms of how he or she deals with such questions, and how the members of Wikipedia grant legitimacy to his or her way to deal with those. Functionalistic actor-model from the initial expectation on Wikipedia as ‘collective intelligence’ could not pinpoint this difference exactly, so this article intends to criticize previous functionalistic model and suggests alternative. For this regard, this article carried on analysis about a series of debate on ‘Notability’ is mainly for deciding whether a specific content has a legitimacy and value to exist as an independent single article. Most of all, the analysis focused on what kind of ‘Repertories’ were used to insist on or to deny notability, and, secondly, on the level of institutional modality of the normative resource. Finally, the article tries to demonstrate how these findings gives the way to define and classify the knowledge-subject in Wikipedia.
