In this paper, the heat resistance reliability of an axial smoke exhaust fan was investigated. An axial smoke exhaust fan should be capable of operating at 250 ℃ for 2 hours. The failure of an axial smoke exhaust fan occurred in the motor due to high temperature. Therefore, the heat resistance reliability of an axial smoke exhaust fan was evaluated by the heat resistance reliability test of a motor. A B10 life with a 90% confidence level of the installed motor was estimated to be about 48 minute. The main failure mechanisms of the motor were melting of bond and insulating paper and burning of insulating materials in the coil. The heat resistance reliability of the motor was improved by changing the way to unite the core and the coil and by replacing the insulating paper and the insulating materials of the coil. A B10 life with a 90% confidence level of a modified motor was estimated to be over 120 minute.

In this study, the numerical study carried out to analyze the leakage in a steam turbine labyrinth seal. Low pressure side and high pressure side angles of teeth were modified to verify the influence on the leakage. It was found that the angle of low pressure side does not affect on the leakage but the variation of high pressure side angle have significant effect on the leakage. The leakage through the labyrinth seal with -5° high pressure side angle were decreased by 5.4% compared to that of original labyrinth seal.

In this study, the numerical study has carried out to analyze the leakage in a steam turbine labyrinth seal. We modified tooth shape of the labyrinth seal and finds out difference of leakage in this study. Original model is straight labyrinth seal and its modified model is slant labyrinth seal. The numerical analyses are implemented on two models. The numerical results show that each leakage of tooth shape are found 0.4781 ㎏/s and 0.4485 ㎏/s, respectively. Slant labyrinth seal seals in a steam better than straight labyrinth seal. Since, actual clearance of the stream function in the slant model is smaller than the straight model.
열정산과 적용사례 조사에 의한 제강 전기로용 조연버너 적용 타당성 연구

In this study, the validity study has been carried out to apply the combustion burner in an electric arc furnace. The validity of applying the combustion burner has been studied in the aspect of the operation through the calculation of heat balance. The average decrease rate of power on time is 11.2%. When the maintainability is compared to the door lance manipulator type, the multi-functional combustion burner is simple to replace and repair. The location of burner can be adopted according to the drawings which are recommended in this study. As a result, the validity of applying the combustion burner to improve an efficiency of electric arc furnace has been confirmed.
송풍-역풍 겸용 축류팬 피치각에서 역풍시 효율저하 원인에 관한 연구

In this study, the numerical study has carried out to analyze the factors of the efficiency decrease at backward flow situation in an axial fan with adjustable blades. The analysis is carried out the pitch angle 36˚ on the forward flow and the pitch angle -26˚ on the backward flow. The numerical results show that the air flow rates of the pitch angle 36˚and -26˚ are respectively calculated to 285 CMM and 212 CMM. The results are similar to the experimental results carried out by Chang, and have made the maximum error of 10.6% when compared with the experimental results. The important reason of the fan efficiency decrease is that axial fan used for this study was designed to use for the forward flow. As the results, the pitch angle -26˚ has occurred the recirculation around the impeller blade, impeller cover and stator.
바울형 미분기 베인휠에서의 유속 불균일 개선에 관한 연구

The stability of coal pulverizer in the 800 MW coal-fired plants is vital to maintain their performance. Thus, this study analyzed the uneven abrasion of the deflector and coal spillage due to the air velocity maldistribution in the vane wheel of a bowl-type pulverizer as it is a possible cause for problems of facility using pulverized coal. In addition, air flow in the underbowl of a bowl-type pulverizer was studied to check air velocity maldistribution in the vane wheel using numerical method. In an attempt to correct the maldistribution of air velocity, air flow of the modified duct vane was studied as enlarging the length of the duct vanes installed at the air inlet duct of the pulverizer and increasing the angle of inclination. It was found that modified duct vane make the velocity distribution at the vane wheel uniform. formed by the duct vanes installed at the air inlet duct of the pulverizer and swirling flow is the major factor in making the velocity distribution of vane wheel exit uniform. This can prevent the uneven abrasion of the deflector, which is one of the components inside the pulverizer and coal spillage.
피치각 조정형 송풍-역풍 겸용 축류팬에서 배연용 피치각 선정을 위한 실험적 연구

In this study, the experimental study has carried out to select pitch angle on the backward flow in an axial fan that has adjustable pitch blades. With the change of pitch angle of axial fan with adjustable blade, air flow rate, pressure and air flow direction can be changed. Because of this merit, adjustable axial fan can be used in the backward flow. For the selection of the backward flow pitch angle, fan performance test method is selected by KS B 6311. Dynamic pressure, static pressure, electric current and voltage are measured in each pitch angles of axial fan that are 36°, -16°, -21°, -26°, -31° and -36°. In the result of test, fan performance curves at several pitch angle has been investigated. Finally, pitch angle of -26° has been selected to get largest flow rate at backward flow situation.
해외에너지자원획득과 소요자금 확보를 위한 통합 컨트롤 타워 설치 필요성에 관한 연구

Necessity to install control towers has been studied to acquire overseas energy resources and secure funds. At present, domestic energy companies do business independently. And Institutions which support plant EPC companies as partners of package deal are separated. This causes the low records at package deal for overseas resources acquisition. Except UK and USA, nations which have major companies developed overseas energy resources early by promoting a large national company. Consequently, they currently have good records. This study is suggested as the necessities to install integrated control tower for overseas energy resources acquisition and securing funds and the following are the ways ; 1) promote a large national company by consolidation of separate energy companies 2) install plant EPC promotion department which support private plant EPC companies. 3) make a integrated control tower in high level government office to connect between a large national company and plant EPC promotion department.
