        Temporary formation of highly conducting domain walls for non-destructive read-out of ferroelectric domain-wall resistance switching memories

        Erasable conductive domain walls in insulating ferroelectric thin films can be used for non-destructive electrical read-out of the polarization states in ferroelectric memories. Still, the domain-wall currents extracted by these devices have not yet reached the intensity and stability required to drive read-out circuits operating at high speeds. This study demonstrated non-destructive read-out of digital data stored using specific domain-wall configurations in epitaxial BiFeO<SUB>3</SUB> thin films formed in mesa-geometry structures. Partially switched domains, which enable the formation of conductive walls during the read operation, spontaneously retract when the read voltage is removed, reducing the accumulation of mobile defects at the domain walls and potentially improving the device stability. Three-terminal memory devices produced 14 nA read currents at an operating voltage of 5 V, and operated up to T = 85 °C. The gap length can also be smaller than the film thickness, allowing the realization of ferroelectric memories with device dimensions far below 100 nm.

        A New ent-Kaurane type Diterpenoid Glycoside from Inula japonica Thunb

        A new ent-kaurane type diterpenoid glycoside, 17-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-16α-ent-kauran-19-oic acid (1), together with 17-hydroxy-16α-ent-kauran-19-oic acid (2), 16α,17-dihydroxyl-ent-kauran-19-oic acid (3), and 16α-hydroxy-17-acetoxy-ent- kauran-19-oic acid (4) were isolated from the aerial parts of Inula japonica Thunb. The structure of 1 was determined mainly by use of 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopic techniques including HSQC, 1H-1H COSY, HMBC, and NOESY. In addition, 4 exhibited significant inhibitory activity on NO production in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells with IC50 value of 14.3 μg/mL.

        A Case Study on Cost Control Based on Value Chain : Focusing on the Case of Chinese FH Dairy Company

        [연구목적] 낙농업에 대한 중국정부의 관련 정책에 따라 낙농기업의 경영환경은 점점 더 복잡해지고 다양해지고 있다. 이러한 경영환경의 변화에 직면한 낙농기업들은 대부분 과거에서부터 해오던 기초적인 원가통제 단계에 머물러 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 가치사슬에 기반한 원가 통제를 낙농기업에 적용하여 이에 대한 개선방법을 사례연구를 통해 제시하고자 한다. [연구방법] 본 사례연구에 대한 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 기존 연구와 이론을 바탕으로 중국 FH 낙농 회사의 원가관리 현황을 분석하여 원가와 예산관리에 대한 문제점을 찾아 낸다. 둘째, 가치 사슬 원가통제를 도입하기 위한 중국FH 낙농기업의 외부 가치사슬과 내부 가치사슬을 각각 분석하여 두 가치사슬의 연결을 통한 부가가치를 모색한다. 마지막으로, 중국FH 낙농기업에 대한 합리적인 개선 방안을 제안한다. [연구결과] 중국 FH기업은 외부 가치사슬의 원가통제를 위해 정보수집, 판매경로 확대, 경쟁적 우위에 대해 관심을 두어야하며, 내부 가치사슬의 원가통제를 위해서는 원가예산시스템의 최적화, 원가통제방법의 개선, 원가통제의 범위 확대가 요구된다. [연구의 시사점] 현재 중국 모든 기업들이 겪고 있는 지속적인 인건비 상승, 원자재 확보의 어려움, 전력부족뿐만 아니라 특히, 유제품 회사의 경우 최근 고비용 시대에 접어들어 기업발전에 큰 장애물이 되고있다. 본 연구의 결과는 효율적인 원가통제를 위한 새로운 접근방법을 제시함으로써 중국 유제품 회사의 합리적인 원가통제 개선 방안을 제공하고 있다. [Purpose] According to the relevant policies of the Chinese government on dairy farming, the business environment of dairy enterprises is becoming more complex and diversified. Most of the dairy companies facing these changes in the business environment remain in the basic cost control stage that they have been doing in the past. Therefore, in this study, cost control based on the value chain is applied to dairy companies and an improvement method is presented through a case study. [Methodology] In this study, we propose a cost control based on the value chain in this way were applied to FH Chinese companies. The contents of this case study are as follows. First, based on existing studies and theories, the cost management status of Chinese FH dairy companies is analyzed to find problems in cost and budget management. Second, we analyze the external and internal value chains of Chinese FH dairy companies to introduce value chain cost control, respectively, and seek added value by linking the two value chains. Finally, we propose a reasonable improvement plan for Chinese FH dairy enterprises. [Findings] In the cost control of the external value chain, it should pay attention to information collection, broaden sales channels and establish competitive advantages. In the cost control of internal value chain, it is necessary to optimize the cost budget system, improve the cost control method and broaden the scope of cost control. [Implications] In addition to the continuous rise in labor costs, difficulties in securing raw materials, and power shortages that all Chinese companies are currently experiencing, dairy companies in particular have recently entered an era of high costs and are becoming a major obstacle to corporate development. As a result, it is necessary to find a new approach for effective cost control of enterprises. In this study, we propose a cost control based on the value chain in this way were applied to FH Chinese companies.

      • Research on Query Gain Routing Algorithms and Load Balancing Mechanism in Wireless Sensor Networks

        It is necessary to reduce the consumption of network node energy and the network load for solving the query design for routing algorithm in wireless sensor network, thus this article presents query gain routing algorithms and load balancing mechanism. This algorithm selects routing node by querying the routing information of gain matrix according to the successful record of historical query. The load balancing mechanism queries the energy information, which records node in the routing process and transfers load to balance the energy consumption of each node in the query path. This algorithm is able to effectively aware routing load to reduce the network energy consumption and avoid the data collision. The experimental result shows that compared with other query routing strategy, the query gain routing can increase the success rate of query under the condition of reducing the node energy consumption, but the load balancing mechanism can reduce the energy consumption of query gain routing further and prolong the network life cycle more effectively.

        Surgical Management for Giant Liver Hemangiomas Greater Than 20 cm in Size

        Background/Aims: The aim of this study was to investigate the primary management experience for giant liver hemangiomas greater than 20 cm in size. Methods: Records of patients referred for evaluation of radiologically and/or histopathologically proven giant liver hemangiomas between January 2007 and March 2010 were retrospectively analyzed. The reasons for referral, results of imaging studies, preoperative and surgical treatments, and outcome were reviewed. Results: A retrospective analysis was performed for 14 patients diagnosed with a giant hemangioma on the basis of an imaging study and/or a histopathological examination. All cases were diagnosed as giant liver hemangioma with at least one lesion greater than 20 cm in size. Abdominal discomfort was the main presenting complaint for the referral in 9 patients (64.2%). Abdominal ultrasound established the diagnosis in 12 patients (85.7%). Twelve patients underwent liver resection, 2 of whom underwent staged resection. Enucleation was performed in 2 patients. Selective transcatheter arterial embolization was implemented in 9 patients. Postoperative morbidity occurred in 3 patients (21.4%). No complications related to the hemangiomas occurred during follow up. Conclusions: Liver resection is indicated for giant liver hemangiomas with abdominal discomfort, especially for lesions greater than 20 cm in size. Staged operations are performed for patients with multiple lesions. Preoperative selective transcatheter arterial embolization alleviates progressive abdominal pain. (Gut Liver 2011;5:228-233)

      • Effect of Route of Preoperative Biopsy on Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection for Patients with Early Gastric Cancer

        Objective: To observe and compare the effects of multi-patch biopsy under conventional white light imaging endoscopy (C-WLI) and precise targeted biopsy under magnifying narrow-band imaging endoscopy (M-NBI) on the endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) of early gastric cancers and intraepithelial neoplasias. Methods: According to the way of selecting biopsy specimens, patients were divided into C-WLI and M-NBI groups, 20 cases. The ESD operations of the 2 groups were compared quantitively. Results: The mean frequency of biopsy in M-NBI group was ($1.00{\pm}0.00$), obviously lower than in the C-WLI group ($4.78{\pm}1.02$) (P<0.01).The average total number of selected biopsy specimens was also fewer ($1.45{\pm}0.12$ and $7.82{\pm}2.22$, respectively, P<0.01). There was no significant difference in the time of determining excision extension, marking time and the time of specimen excision of 2 groups during the ESD (P>0.05), whereas submucosal injection time, mucosal dissection time, stopping bleeding time, wound processing time in the M-NBI group were significantly shorter than in the C-WLI group (P<0.01). Conclusion: Precise targeted biopsy under M-NBI can obviously shorten the time of ESD operation, with small quantity of tissues but high pathological positive rate.

        Plasmonic Nanoantennae Fabricated by Focused Ion Beam Milling

        We show a novel approach to fabricate plasmonic nanoantennae based on a maskless focused ion beam nanoring patterning process. Antenna nanoarrays with desired outlines are achieved by precisely controlling the geometric parameters during the milling process. Various nanoantenna designs of bow-tie, nanoclusters (pentamers), and ellipsoid shaped satellites surrounded particle lattices arerealized. The whole fabrication method is programmable and monolithic since only a one-step milling process is involved. The opticalproperties are experimentally characterized. Such nanoantennae may find extensive applications in chemical/bio-sensing due toremarkably enhanced near field intensity at the plasmon resonance.
