      • Efficient Order-based Scheduling Algorithms for Automated Retrieval System (ARS) in Smart Warehouses

        A Smart Warehouse (SW) usually employs an automated warehouse management system that integrates artificial intelligence and robotics to automate the warehouse processes. For instance, an Automated Retrieval System (ARS) is used in SW to retrieve products ordered by customers from shelves in order to speed up the product movement. Such a process is important because the product retrieval speed directly affects the subsequent processes, such as packaging and delivery, thus bringing a significant impact on the entire transaction duration between merchants and customers. In general, an order from a customer may contain several items and these items need to be retrieved from the respective shelves of the warehouse before the packaging process can be started. The retrieval delay of an order can then be defined as the duration from the time when the order being input to the system until the time when the last item of the order is retrieved. To reduce the retrieval delay of orders, we combine the integrality of order with the job scheduling of ARS. We introduce the concept of Order Tag and propose two Order-Based scheduling algorithms according to the greedy strategy to reduce the total retrieval delay of orders. Mathematical models are constructed to classify and evaluate the retrieval problems. Both algorithms take polynomial time and the ideal state is that all the retrieval jobs are evenly distributed to stackers. Simulation results demonstrate that these two strategies can reduce the total retrieval delay by approximately 30% comparing to the existing algorithms.

        Simple Preparation of Copolymer of Styrene and 4-Chloromethyl Styrene and Its Application in NLO Materials

        This article reports a synthesis a new class of nonlinear optical (NLO) polymer, containing 3-methyl-4-cyano-5-dicyanomethylidene-2-oxo-3-pyrroline (TCP) acceptor. TCP chromophore was synthesized and characterized by Uv-Vis absorption, 1H NMR, and mass-spectrometry. The titled polymer shows high thermal stability and large optical nonlinearity. A high glass transition temperature of 125°C was determined by DSC measurement,and measured electrooptical (EO) at wavelength 1.31 mm was equal to 37.4 pm/V. The order parameter of these films evaluated by absorption was equal to about 24%.

        Neo-Chinese Style Furniture Design Based on Semantic Analysis and Connection

        Lately, neo-Chinese style furniture has been frequently noticed by product design professionals for the big part it played in promoting traditional Chinese culture. This article is an attempt to use big data semantic analysis method to provide effective design research method for neo-Chinese furniture design. By using big data mining program TEXTOM for big data collection and analysis, the data obtained from typical websites in a set time period will be sorted and analyzed. On the basis of "neo-Chinese furniture" samples, key data will be compared, classification analysis of overall data, and horizontal analysis of typical data will be performed by the methods of word frequency analysis, connection centrality analysis, and TF-IDF analysis. And we tried to summarize according to the related views and theories of the design. The research results show that the results of data analysis are close to the relevant definitions of design. The core high-frequency vocabulary obtained under data analysis, such as popular, furniture, modern, etc., can provide a reasonable and effective focus of attention for the designs. The result obtained through the systematic sorting and summary of the data can be a reliable guidance in the direction of our design. This research attempted to introduce related big data mining semantic analysis methods into the product design industry, to supply scientific and objective data and channels for studies on design, and to provide a case on the practical application of big data analysis in the industry.

        Preparation of MTMS modified glass fiber reinforced Al2O3–SiO2 aerogel composite for the laser irradiation protection

        Due to the significant photothermal damage caused by lasers, there is a need to explore new materials that possess excellent insulation and laser protection properties. In this study, the in situ solution gel method was employed to fabricate a methyltrimethoxysilane (MTMS) modified composite of glass fiber (GF) reinforced Al2O3–SiO2 aerogel. The laser protection capability of aerogel composites with varying ratios of Al/Si was investigated, while the laser ablation behavior of the materials was characterized using FESEM and FT-IR. The results indicate that the composite aerogel material with an Al/Si molar ratio of 3:1 exhibits a high damage threshold temperature and can withstand continuous laser exposure (3500 W/cm2) for 59 s. These findings suggest that Al2O3–SiO2 aerogel composites hold promising potential for applications in laser protection. The pore structure of the aerogel in the region affected by scattering damage is disrupted and appears black, emitting intense visible light upon laser irradiation. In the central ablative melting area, it is evident that the glass fiber and aerogel have undergone complete ablation and melting.

        RNA sequencing reveals lncRNA-mediated non-mendelian inheritance of feather growth change in chickens

        Background: Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play an essential role in biological processes. However, the expression patterns of lncRNAs that regulate the non-Mendelian inheritance feather phenotypes remain unknown. Objective: This study aimed to compare the expression profiles of lncRNAs in the follicles of the late-feathering cocks (LC) and late-feathering hens (LH) that followed genetic rules and the early-feathering hen (EH) and early-feathering cock (EC) that did not conform to the genetic laws. Methods: We performed RNA sequencing and investigated the differentially expressed lncRNAs (DElncRNAs) between the early- and late-feathering chickens, which function by cis-acting or participate in the competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) network. Results: A total of 53 upregulated and 43 downregulated lncRNAs were identified in EC vs. LC, and 58 upregulated and 109 downregulated lncRNAs were identified in EH vs. LH. The target mRNAs regulated by lncRNAs in cis were enriched in the pentose phosphate pathway, TGF-β signaling pathway and Jak-STAT signaling pathway in EC vs. LC and were associated with the TGF-β signaling pathway, Wnt signaling pathway, p53 signaling pathway and Jak-STAT signaling pathway in EH vs. LH. In addition, the lncRNA-mediated ceRNA regulatory pathways of hair follicle formation were mainly enriched in the TGF-β signaling pathway, Wnt signaling pathway, melanogenesis, and calcium signaling pathways. The levels of ENSGALG00000047626 were significantly higher in the late-feathering chickens than in the early-feathering chickens, which regulated the expression of SSTR2 by gga-miR-1649-5p. Conclusion: This study provides a novel molecular mechanism of lncRNA's response to the feather rate that does not conform to the genetic laws in chickens.

        Inhibition of Dll4/Notch1 pathway promotes angiogenesis of Masquelet’s induced membrane in rats

        The Masquelet’s induced membrane technique for repairing bone defects has been demonstrated to be a promising treatment strategy. Previous studies have shown that the vessel density of induced membrane is decreased in the late stage of membrane formation, which consequently disrupts the bone healing process. However, relatively little is known about certain mechanisms of vessel degeneration in the induced membrane tissue and whether promotion of angiogenesis in induced membranes can improve bone regeneration. Here, we showed that the Delta-like ligand 4/ Notch homolog 1 (Dll4/Notch1) pathway was relatively activated in the late stage of induced membrane, especially at the subcutaneous site. Then, DAPT, a classical γ-secretase inhibitor, was applied to specifically inhibit Notch1 activation, followed by up-regulation of vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR2) and CD31 expression. DAPTmodified induced membranes were further confirmed to contribute to bone regeneration after autogenous bone grafting. Finally, in vitro experiments revealed that knocking down Notch1 contributed to the functional improvement of endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) and that DAPT-treated induced membrane tissue was more favorable for angiogenesis of EPCs compared with the vehicle group. In conclusion, the present findings demonstrate that Dll4/ Notch1 signaling is negatively associated with the vessel density of induced membrane. Pharmacological inhibition of Notch1 attenuated the vessel degeneration of induced membrane both in vitro and in vivo, which consequently improved bone formation at the bone defect site and graft resorption at the subcutaneous site.

        Hot deformation behavior of CNTs/Al-Li composite prepared by powder metallurgy

        CNTs/Al-Li composite was first prepared by hot-pressed sintering from Al-Li alloy powder and CNTs solution, and then the hot compression tests were performed on MMS-100 thermal simulator at strain rate range of 0.01– 10 s−1, deformation temperature range of 350–500 °C, and total deformation amount of 60%. True stress–strain curves were plotted, and constitutive equation as well as hot processing maps were successfully confirmed based on Arrhenius constitutive model and Prasad instability criterion. Results show that CNTs/Al-Li composite have a very poor hot deformation ability and narrow processing region, which is strain rate range of 0.1–1 s−1 and deformation temperature range of 360–400 °C. Hot extrusion experiment was carried out and the processing parameters were selected according to the established hot processing map, and an improvement on strength and a good balance between strength and plasticity can be obtained, which is about 650 MPa for tensile strength and 9% for elongation.
