Lee, Jin Woo,Kim, Kihyun,Park, Dong Hyuk,Cho, Mi Yeon,Lee, Yong Baek,Jung, Jin Sun,Kim, Dae-Chul,Kim, Jeongyong,Joo, Jinsoo WILEY-VCH Verlag 2009 Advanced Functional Materials Vol.19 No.5
<P>This is a report on a new method of growth of a light-emitting rubrene nanowires array with diameters of 200 ± 10 nm by using organic vapor transport through Al2O3 nanoporous templates. Nanometer-scale laser confocal microscope (LCM) photoluminescence (PL) spectra and crystalline structures of the rubrene nanowires are compared with those of rubrene single crystals prepared with the same experimental conditions without the template. In the LCM PL spectra it is observed that the PL spectra and intensity varies with the detecting positions because of the crystal growth characteristics of the rubrene molecules. A single rubrene nanowire has a wider LCM PL band width than that of the rubrene single crystal. This may originate from the light emissions of the mixed polarized bands due to additional new crystallinity in the formation of the nanowires. From the current–voltage characteristic curves, the semiconducting nature of both the rubrene nanowires and single crystals is observed.</P> <B>Graphic Abstract</B> <P>A homogeneous array of light-emitting rubrene nanowires is fabricated through an organic vapor transport method by using an Al2O3 nanoporous template. The light emissions of an isolated single strand of rubrene nanowires are observed through nanometer-scale laser confocal microscope (LCM) photoluminescence (PL), and color charge-coupled device experiments. The line-width of LCM PL spectra for the single rubrene nanowire was much broader than that for rubrene single crystals, originating from the light emission of mixed polarized bands due to different crystal growth characteristics. <img src='wiley_img/1616301X-2009-19-5-ADFM200801180-content.gif' alt='wiley_img/1616301X-2009-19-5-ADFM200801180-content'> </P>

<P>Structural defects can critically influence the electrical and optical properties of monolayered molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) grown by chemical vapor deposition (CVD); thus, convenient optical methods that can visualize grain boundaries (GBs) and other structural defects are in great demand. Although photoluminescence (PL) imaging can identify the presence of relatively large defects, the limited spatial resolution of PL imaging prevents the identification of nanosized structural defects in the monolayered MoS2. Additionally, the origin of the PL signal contrast observed at certain types of structural defects, such as GBs, is not yet understood. Here, we present near-field PL images of CVD-grown monolayered MoS2, collected to identify nanosized line defects and adlayer defects in the monolayered MoS2. Our results of correlated scanning electron microscopy imaging and the inspection of near-field PL profiles of line defects and GBs suggest that decreased PL on GBs is due to the local physical damage of the MoS2 film rather than due to the presence of localized states.</P>

<P>We fabricated hybrid nanoparticles (NPs) of p-type poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) and n-type fullerene derivative {[6,6]-phenyl C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM)} materials through a mini-emulsion method. The nanoscale photoluminescence (PL) characteristics of the non-annealed and annealed hybrid single NPs with different concentrations of P3HT and PCBM were investigated using a laser confocal microscope (LCM) with high spatial resolution. The luminescence characteristics corresponding to the P3HT and PCBM materials were observed simultaneously in the LCM PL spectra for P3HT/PCBM hybrid NP after the annealing process. We propose that the annealing process for the hybrid NPs assisted the ordering of P3HT main chains and the formation of PCBM domains through the gathering of the molecules, indicating nanoscale phase separation. This was supported by UV-Vis absorption and Raman spectroscopy results. Conducting atomic force microscope experiments on an annealed hybrid single NP allowed for the measurement of the characteristic photoresponsive current–voltage curves, and monochromatic photovoltaic characteristics and the avalanche photodiode effect were observed in the low- and high-bias regions, respectively.</P> <P>Graphic Abstract</P><P>Conducting atomic force microscope experiments on an annealed hybrid single NP (left figure) allowed for the measurement of the photoresponsive current–voltage characteristic curves, and monochromatic photovoltaic characteristics (right figure) observed in the low-bias region. <IMG SRC='http://pubs.rsc.org/services/images/RSCpubs.ePlatform.Service.FreeContent.ImageService.svc/ImageService/image/GA?id=c1jm13952e'> </P>
Enhancement of light-matter interaction and photocatalytic efficiency of Au/TiO_2 hybrid nanowires

<P>Metal/TiO2 hybrid nanostructures offer more efficient charge separation and a broader range of working wavelengths for photocatalytic reactions. The sizes and shapes of such hybrid nanostructures can affect the charge separation performance when the structures interact with light, but assessments of the interaction of light with these metal-TiO2 nanostructures have only been carried out on ensemble averages, hindering both systematic descriptions of such hybrid structures and the design of new ones. Here, we fabricated TiO2 nanotubes (NTs) with and without core Au nanowires (NWs), and used spectroscopy and calculations to assess their scattering and absorption of light at the single NW level. According to the results of spectral imaging and numerical calculations, the Au/TiO2 NWs scattered and absorbed light substantially more strongly than did the plain TiO2 NTs. Measurements of the degradation of the AO7 dye to assess the photocatalytic performance of the Au/TiO2 NWs were consistent with optical measurements demonstrating a two-fold improvement over plain TiO2 NTs under 360-nm-wavelength UV illumination. Our results suggests that nanoscale optical imaging can be used to visualize the performance of the photocatalytic reaction at the single nano-object level. (C) 2016 Optical Society of America</P>

People generally utilize internet searching as a mean of the obtainment of information before using any other searching method. However, the amount of data on the Internet is ginormous so that it is almost impossible to check them all manually at the same time there is a wide gap between the level and the reliability of the data. This paper began to solve the above-mentioned issues and proposed the method to collect and refine reliable information from the Internet using web crawling technology literary research. This research conducted the web crawling using a specified keyword based on Korean writer and collect the concerned data from the internet newspapers that guarantee minimum reliability. Nouns extracted from the collected data through the process and sorted by frequency. Nouns with a high frequency mean that they are highly related to the author so that they can utilize as basic data to decide the direction for research concerned writers" works.

46,XX male is a rare sex constitution characterized by the development of bilateral testis in persons who lack a Y chromosome. Manifestations of 46,XX males are usually hypogonadism, gynecomastia, azoospermia, and hyalinations of seminiferous tubules. The incidence of XX male reversal is approximately 1 in 20,000 male neonates. The SRYgene is located at the short arm of the Y chromosome(Yp11.31) and codes for testis determining factor in humans. Here, the patient, who presented with a normal male phenotype, was referred for azoospermia. Conventional cytogenetic analysis showed a 46,XX karyotype. Quantitative fluorescent polymerase chain reaction(QF-PCR) and Multiplex PCR studies identified SRY gene. And, Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization(FISH) confirmed the SRY gene on the distal short arm of chromosome X. We identified the SRY gene on the distal short arm of chromosome X by molecular cytogenetic and molecular analyses. Therefore, molecular-cytogenetics and molecular studies were proved to be clinically useful adjunctive tool to conventional prenatal cytogenetic analysis.
