Chondroblastoma : MR Characteristics with Pathologic Correlation

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to describe the MR findings of chondroblastoma with pathologic correlation. Method : In 22 patients with pathologically proven chondroblastoma, MR signal characteristics were correlated with pathological findings. Results : On T2-weighted images, 12 (55%) lesions were hyperintense with hypointense areas in 9 lesions, whereas 10 (45%) were hypointense. Therfore, 19 of 22 (86%) lesions with pathologic correlation had hypointenes areas entirely (n=10) or partly (n=9) on T2-weighted images On gadolinium-enhanced images, 13 (59%) lesions showed lobular enhancement and 9 (41%) showed marginal and septal enhancement. Low signal intensity on T2-weighted MR images was most strongly associated with an abundance of immature chondroid matrix, hypercellularity of the chondroblasts, calcifications, and hemosiderin on histology. Conclusion : Chondroblastoma was found to show hypointense portions on T2-weighted images. Signal intensity on T1- and T2-weighted MR images in chondroblastoma was dependent on the amounts of histopathological components. (Jornal of Computer Assisted Tomography 23(5):781-726, 1999)

This paper described the changes of peel strength, wrinkle recovery and dimensional stability after fusing 4 different wool face fabrics with 3 different fusible interlinings. The fusing condition was conducted by fusing press machine under 4kg·f/cm^2 at 150℃. To determine the effect of the various physical properties of the fused fabrics, face fabrics and interlinings on the peel strength, wrinkle recovery and dimensional stability(hygral expansion and relaxation shrinkage) of fused fabrics, correlation among the KES values of fused fabrics of fused fabrics, face fabrics and interlinings to the peel strength, wrinkle recovery and dimensional stability of fused fabrics were experimentally analyzed. As the results, the peel strength was mainly influenced by the cover factor of face fabric and interlinings. After fusing wrinkle recovery and hygral expansion were decreased. The cover factor, wrinkle recovery, weight, thickness, shear rigidity and frictional properties of face fabric, and the thickness of fused fabrics were highly correlated with the wrinkle recovery of fused fabrics. But the physical properties of the interlinings did not influence to the wrinkle recovery of fused fabrics. In addition, the dimensional stabilities of fused fabrics were mainly influenced by the tensile and frictional properties of the face fabrics.
Radar based Obstacle Detection System for Autonomous Unmanned Surface Vehicles

This paper proposes a dynamic obstacle detection system for USV based on marine radar and Electronic Navigational chart (ENC), the most common navigation sensors on ships. This system has the advantage of enabling simple obstacle recognition without the need to additionally mount expensive equipment. In this system, we generated two types of grid maps: one is plan position indicator (PPI) images from marine radar, the other is a hull information-based grid map extracted from ENC. By accumulating the two grid map images, obstacles that appear repeatedly are classified as fixed obstacles, and obstacles that move as the grid map is updated are classified as dynamic obstacles. The proposed obstacle detection system was installed in the Sea Sword USV developed by LIGNex1 and tested in a marine environment. The system proposed in the experiment recognized the small rubber boat as a dynamic obstacle and the surrounding environment as a static obstacle. Along with our proposed obstacle detection system, it is possible to recognize obstacles through ENC and radar, which are essential equipment for ships, without video equipment.
교차편파 격리도를 개선한 이중선형 편파 시뉴어스 안테나의 설계 및 제작

본 논문에서는 교차편파 격리도(XPI; cross polarization isolation)를 개선한 이중선형 편파 시뉴어스 안테나를 설계 및 제작하였다. 제안된 시뉴어스 안테나는 이중선형 편파 발생을 위해 4개의 암(arm) 방사체로 구성되며, 클로펜스타인 테이퍼(Klopfenstein taper) 구조의 광대역 마이크로스트립 발룬을 통해 급전된다. 또한 후방 반사파 감소를 위해 2단 원통형 캐비티 구조를 적용하였다. 캐비티 내부에는 반사파에 의한 성능 저하를 감소시키기 위해 허니컴 형태의 흡수체를 삽입하였다. 설계된 시뉴어스 안테나는 저대역에서의 교차편파 격리도를 개선하기 위해 최외각 암패턴과 캐비티의 림(rim) 사이에 저항을 적용하였다. 제작된 안테나는 저대역에서 교차편파 격리도가 개선되어 편파 측정을 위한 안테나로 적용 가능함을 확인하였다. In this paper, we design and fabricate a dual liner polarization sinuous antenna with improved cross polarization isolation (XPI). The proposed antenna is composed of four arm radiators for generating dual linear polarization and excited by wideband microstrip balun with Klopfenstein taper structure. Also, two-step cylindrical cavity structure is applied to reduce back radiation. Honeycomb-typed absorbing material is inserted into the cavity to reduce performance degradation by reflected wave. To enhance cross polarization isolation in low frequency band, resistors are adapted between outer arm and the rim of cavity. We confirmed that the fabricated antenna can be applied for polarization measurement due to improved XPI in the low band.

This paper proposes automatic fault measurement system for GH-band radio frequency (RF) devices. The system contains RF chip integrated with 0.18-μm BiCMOS SiGe process, control board, and PC with installed control program. The control board consists of RF Built-In Self-Test (BIST) circuit and digital signal processor (DSP). To verify performance of the measurement system we built a 1.8-GHz low noise amplifier (LNA). Proposed system helps it to provide DC output voltages, hence, making the RF system chain automatic.

<P>Accumulation of expanded polyglutamine proteins is considered to be a major pathogenic biomarker of Huntington disease. We isolated SCAMP5 as a novel regulator of cellular accumulation of expanded polyglutamine track protein using cell-based aggregation assays. Ectopic expression of SCAMP5 augments the formation of ubiquitin-positive and detergent-resistant aggregates of mutant huntingtin (mtHTT). Expression of SCAMP5 is markedly increased in the striatum of Huntington disease patients and is induced in cultured striatal neurons by endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress or by mtHTT. The increase of SCAMP5 impairs endocytosis, which in turn enhances mtHTT aggregation. On the contrary, down-regulation of SCAMP5 alleviates ER stress-induced mtHTT aggregation and endocytosis inhibition. Moreover, stereotactic injection into the striatum and intraperitoneal injection of tunicamycin significantly increase mtHTT aggregation in the striatum of R6/2 mice and in the cortex of N171-82Q mice, respectively. Taken together, these results suggest that exposure to ER stress increases SCAMP5 in the striatum, which positively regulates mtHTT aggregation via the endocytosis pathway.</P>
