The climate change crisis and accordingly new strict restrictions on the use of carbon-based fuels have brought alternative carbon-free fuels into sharp focus. Ammonia as a well-known hydrogen carrier with feasible storability as well as well-established production process can be considered a potential carbon-free renewable fuel. In the present study, we numerically simulate the premixed combustion of Ammonia/wet air under engine relevant conditions. The simulations are carried out for various relative humidity and compression ratio values. Results show that humidity can significantly decrease laminar flame speed, consequently decreasing flame stability and efficiency. In terms of NOx emissions, in the fuel lean region, higher humidity results in lower NOx; However, in the fuel rich condition, humidity has negligible effect on the NOx emission.
