Resonant type mixer is widely used to mix materials effectively by utilizing the resonance effect. In this study, vibration acceleration of 100g is required for the work and transmitted force to the support should be minimized to operate comfortably. In addition, vibration of the motor part should be small compared with other parts for the durability of the mixer. In this study, 3 degree of freedom vibratory system is applied to obtain the vibration performance. Mixer consists of three parts; payload body, rotating part and balancing weight. Two motors spin two disks with eccentric masses in opposite direction and only vertical vibration is available. Vertically transmitted forces to the support are cancelled out by the motions of the payload body and balancing weight in opposite direction. To achieve the aim, we investigate the resonance effect of the 3<SUP>rd</SUP> vibration mode of the system. We propose that this aim can be achieved by resonating the 3<SUP>rd</SUP> mode, if we properly design the masses and springs of the three degree of freedom system.
