In korea, many RC apartments have been built using bearing walls which can act as shear walls to resist lateral forces and carry the vertical load as well. For building, structural element should be researched. For example, materials, thickness for wall and slab, reinforcing bar arrangement for wall and slab, and substructure are designed desirably. Therefore, this research is aimed at introduction of characteristic and difference in structural design guides of well-known construction companies in korea and giving aid to engineers for design of RC high-rise apartments.

In design of retaining walls, several factors such as site, height, degree of slope, ground characteristics, construction abilities, construction experiences, economies and stability of adjacent structures should be considered. Especially, when retaining wallis designed, engineers have to put major emphasis on the calculation of earth pressure and water pressure. In this study, therefore, numerous problems related to stability of retaining walls at steep slope sites are reviewed and, various countermeasures and considerations for safety for safety of structures during or after design are presented ad followings by case of construction.
성분법에 의한 철골 보-기둥 용접 접합부 관한 초기강성에 대한 연구

In design practice welded connections represent the most commonly used connection typology due to their ability to reduce the relative rotation between the beam and the column allowing, in many cases, the simple modelling of the building structure as a continuous (i.e. rigid) frame. The prediction of the behavior of beam-to-column connections can be carried out by means of the component method which is largely applied in research studies. In the finite element analysis, the fillet of H-shaped steel, the welding property, and the effect of remained strain of welding were ignored to simplify the specimens in this study. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the initial stiffness of beam-to-column connections reinforced by welding in steel structures.
미소 진폭 파형벽을 가진 유로내에서 응축이 수반되는 초음속유동의 Prandtl-Meyer 팽창에 관한 실험적 연구

The characteristics of the Prandtl-Meyer expansion of supersonic flow with condensation through a channel with a small amplitude wavy wall are investigated experimentally. In the present study, for the case of moist air flow in the type of indraft supersonic wind tunnel, the dependency of formation and reflection locations of the oblique shock wave and the distribution of flow properties are clarified by flow visualization and pressure measurement with the variation of the specific humidity and temperature at the entrance of the wavy wall and the attack angle of the wavy wall to the main stream. Also, we confirm that the wavy wall plays an important key role in the formatio of oblique shock wave, and that the effect of condensation on the flow field appears apparently.

The characteristic of the steady two-dimensional supersonic flow with condensation along a wavy wall of small amplitude in channel is investigated through the direct marching method of characteristics. The very complex problem that may appear where the overlapping of the same family charateristics occurs, can be satisfactorily solved by means of the modified method suggested by Zucrow. In the present study for the case of supersonic moist air flow, the dependency of location of formation and reflection of oblique shock wave generated by the wavy wall, and distributions of flow properties, on the relative humidity and temperature at the entrance of wavy wall is clarified by plots of frozen Mach number and iso-flow properties. Also, it is confirmed that the wavy wall plays an important key role in the formation of oblique shock wave, and that the effect of condensation on the flow field appears apparently.
특성 길이를 이용한 평직 복합재 볼트 체결부의 강도 예측

A study on predicting the joint strength of mechanically fastened woven glass/epoxy composite has been performed. An experimental and numerical study were carried out to determine the characteristic length and joint strength of composite joint. The characteristic lengths for tension and compression were determined from the tensile and compressive test with a hole respectively. The characteristic lengths were evaluated by applying the point stress failure criterion to a specimen containing a hole at the center subjected to tensile loading and a specimen containing a half circular notch at the center subjected to compressive load. The joint strength was evaluated by the Tsai-Wu and Yamada-Sun failure criterion on the characteristic curve. The predicted results of the joint strength were compared with experimental results.
