Hoshino, M.,Furumura, Y. The Korean Vacuum Society 1995 Applied Science and Convergence Technology Vol.4 No.s1
We review the copper CVD line, via fill properties, and CMP line resistance. With CVD, trenches and vias with high aspect ratio(above 3) can be filled completely. Sputtering-reflow technique, a new method to filling copper into lines, is also reviewed to compare the CVD process.
Control Education Using Pendulum Apparatus
Hoshino, Tasuku,Yamakita, Masaki,Furuta, Katsuhisa Institute of Control 2000 Transaction on control, automation and systems eng Vol.2 No.3
The inverted pendulum is a typical example of unstable systems and has been used for verification of designed control systems. It is also very popular in control education in laboratories, serving as a good example to show the utility of the state space approach to the controller design. This paper shows two kinds of experiment using inverted pendulum: one is the stabilization of a single spherical inverted pendulum by a plane manipulator using visual feedback, and the other is the state transfer control of a double pendulum. In the former experiment, the feedback stabilization using a CCD camera has major importance as an example of controller implementation with non-contact measurement. The latter involves the standard stabilizing regulation method and nonlinear control techniques. The details of the experimental systems, the control algorithms and the experimental results will be given.
Transition from Ethno-centric to Global Operation : A Case of Japanese Tramp Shipping
HOSHINO, Hiroshi 한국해운물류학회 2004 해운물류연구 Vol.43 No.-
Shipping business based in Japan has drastically changed since the Plaza Accord in 1985 along with transplant of Japanese manufacturing companies. Besides the conventional strategy of globalization of shipping business such as hiring seafarers of developing countries and flagging out its fleet to Flag of Convenience countries, Japanese shipping companies increased cross trading services bypassing Japanese ports and established regional headquarters to manage area operation in Asia, North America and Europe more efficiently and effectively. They had originally expanded overseas routes from and to Japanese ports with typical ethno-centric management style since their early incorporations. However, findings demonstrate that global operation of Japanese shipping companies have started from `unintentional global operation' then shifted to `reactive global operation' following their customers and was further developed to proactive global operation. If structure follows the strategy as Alfred Chandler Jr. mentioned, their typical ethno-centric management style must change in accordance with global operation. This paper analyzes the current situation and the future form of their operation through tramp shipping of major Japanese shipping firms.
Biocompatibility and bioactive potential of the NeoMTA Plus endodontic bioceramic-based sealer
Hoshino Roberto Alameda,Delfino Mateus Machado,da Silva Guilherme Ferreira,Guerreiro-Tanomaru Juliane Maria,Tanomaru-Filho Mário,Sasso-Cerri Estela,Cerri Paulo Sérgio 대한치과보존학회 2021 Restorative Dentistry & Endodontics Vol.46 No.1
Objectives: This study evaluated the biocompatibility and bioactive potential of NeoMTA Plus mixed as a root canal sealer in comparison with MTA Fillapex. Materials and Methods: Polyethylene tubes filled with NeoMTA Plus (n = 20), MTA Fillapex (n = 20), or nothing (control group, CG; n = 20) were inserted into the connective tissue in the dorsal subcutaneous layer of rats. After 7, 15, 30 and 60 days, the specimens were processed for paraffin embedding. The capsule thickness, collagen content, and number of inflammatory cells (ICs) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) immunolabeled cells were measured. von Kossa-positive structures were evaluated and unstained sections were analyzed under polarized light. Two-way analysis of variance was performed, followed by the post hoc Tukey test (p ≤ 0.05). Results: At 7 days, the capsules around NeoMTA Plus and MTA Fillapex had more ICs and IL-6-immunostained cells than the CG. However, at 60 days, there was no significant difference in the IC number between NeoMTA Plus and the CG (p = 0.1137) or the MTA Fillapex group (p = 0.4062), although a greater number of IL-6-immunostained cells was observed in the MTA Fillapex group (p = 0.0353). From 7 to 60 days, the capsule thickness of the NeoMTA Plus and MTA Fillapex specimens significantly decreased, concomitantly with an increase in the collagen content. The capsules around root canal sealers showed positivity to the von Kossa stain and birefringent structures. Conclusions: The NeoMTA Plus root canal sealer is biocompatible and exhibits bioactive potential.

The superconducting permanent current switch (PCS) is an important component to build MRI system. This switch uses a thermal and / or magnetic super-to-normal phase transition of the superconductor Unfortunately, it was not designed using with line frequency We made some superconducting power electronics devices operating up to 100 Hz. The results of development and preliminary studying of the heat controlled S-PED up to line frequency are presented. The circuit including these devices have to be designed as current source oriented.
Impact of Automated Driving Technology on Japanese Automobile Insurance Market
Akio Hoshino 한일경상학회 2021 韓日經商論集 Vol.92 No.-
Purpose: This study attempts to predict the scale of the Japanese automobile insurance market. The forecast is based on the understanding of safety technologies and historic market trends. Research design, data, and methodology: Automobile insurance, together with compulsory automobile liability insurance (CALI), holds more than 50% of the total premium in the Japanese non-life insurance industry. If automated driving prevails, automobile accidents would likely decrease rapidly. Even if fully automated driving does not occur in the near future, some of its elemental technologies, especially collision damage mitigation braking, will significantly reduce the incidence of automobile accidents, and thus the market for automobile insurance. Moreover, as the country’s population decreases, the number of automobiles owned and licenses issued will reduce. We made 20-year predictions of the automobile insurance market in Japan. The calculation is based on demographic data, penetration of safety devices, and their accident prevention effects on bodily injury and property damage. Data are gathered from Japanese governmental statistics, insurance statistics, and research institutes. Results: Our prediction indicates that in the medium-term, the Japanese automobile insurance market will remain stable, and the reduction in the frequency of accidents may proceed slowly and will be mostly offset by the increasing amount of claims per accident. Although we do not have a quantitative estimation for the long term, it may fall drastically after the onset of fully automated driving. Implications: The challenge for insurers in the medium term will be to adapt to the transitional period of declining automobile accidents. In the long term, the weight of lines will shift from automobile insurance to new types of insurance, and insurers will need to implement various structural changes to adapt to this change.

Purpose: This study assessed the clinical outcomes of periprosthetic joint infection patients who underwent twostage revision total knee arthroplasty with antibiotic-loaded cement spacers fabricated using a handmade silicone mold. Materials and methods: This study included seven patients (average age 77 years, average follow-up time 54 months) who underwent surgery at our hospital between 2009 and 2013. Clinical outcomes including knee scores, function scores, knee range of motion, and walking ability at the final observation, period from the primary total knee arthroplasty to implant removal, period from implant removal to revision total knee arthroplasty, and followup period after revision total knee arthroplasty were investigated. Results: At the final follow-up, the average knee range of motion was 99°, with no significant differences at each stage; average knee and function scores were 84 and 77, respectively. With cement spacers, five patients were able to walk with a t-cane. No recurrence of infection was observed. Conclusions: The clinical outcomes of the current case series demonstrated good knee function with preserved walking ability, without any recurrence of periprosthetic joint infection. This study suggests that using a handmade silicone mold could be an effective option for periprosthetic joint infection after a total knee arthroplasty.
