      • 光化學反應 微分照射熱量法에 의한 L-α-Lecithin으로 재구성된 Bacteriorhodopsin Vesicle계에서 Methylene Blue의 회합효과에 의한 상전이 연구

        유기색소분자들이 수용액하에서 색소분자의 일정농도 범위에서 색소분자의 농도의 증가에 따라 색소분자들이 자체 분자회합(self-association)을 형성하거나 1-5, 친수성 표면을 가지는 인지질 vesicle 수용액에서 분자회합6 및 음이온성 고분자 전해질 존재하에서의 색소분자들에 분자회합에 기인한 흡수spectra의 특성적인 변화현상 7-15 을 총괄하여 metachromasy 현상이라고 한다. 이와 같은 색소분자의 회합현상을 본 연구진은 친수성을 가지는 인지질 vesicle 소용액 존재하에서 metachromatic dye인 Methylene blue(MB)가 나타내는 특성적인 metachromasy을 연구한바 있으며16, 또한 bacteriorhodopsin(BR)으로 재구성된 인지질 vesicle(InBR) 존재하에서도 MB의 분자회합 효과네 관한 보고를 한바 있다.

        The hydrolysis of p-nitrophenyl acetate was studied 20-47℃ in the presence of phospholipid bilayer membrane. Liposomes, in the size range of microsomal vesicles, are formed when ether solutions of L-α-lecithin are injected into warm aqeous solutions. The remarkable difference of rate between intra-and inter vesiclar reaction was observed, where intra vesiclar reaction was more catalytic effect. The enhancement of rate by the L-α-lecithin vesicle was influenced by its hydrophobicity. The phase transition temperature from gel to liquid-crystal state of liposomes was 37∼43℃.

      • Dipalmitoyl Phosphatidyl Choline Vesicle 촉매에 의한 para-Nitrophenyl Palmitate의 가수분해 반응

        Dipalmitoyl phosphatidyl choline and p-nitrophenyl palmitate were directly sonicated in acidic water for 6 min to give clear stock solutions. The catalytic hydrolysis of p-nitropheny palmitate was studied at 30-55℃ in the presence of unilamellar vesicle and mixture of uni- and multilamellar aggregates. The difference of rate between uni- and mixture reaction was observed, where unilamellar reaction was more catalytic effect. The phase transition temperature of vesicle was 37-44℃.

        The excess volumes of mixing of benzyl alcohol, ethyl, alcohol, halothane, and procainein vesicle and in suspensions of several lipids have been etermined at 25℃ using a excess volume dilatometer. the potency of general aneathetics has long been known to correlate with lipid solubility Halobacteriun Halobium, were studied by absorption changes at280nm and fiuorescence ehanges at 330nm. The excess volumes of mixing in egg lecithin were all found to enegative, whereas they were positive in procaine and halothane. This result was confirmed as Miller's supposition.

        It is very important to use the Charge Coupled Devices(CCDs) in spectrometric Analysis because we can study the molecular structures, molecular energy level, Intermolecular reaction, absorption or emission, photochemistry, weakly bound Molecular Energy, Fluorescence and Photo dynamic Therapy(PDT). CCD is very essential to study the molecular structures and medical engineering combining laser spectroscopy in the modem physical and chemistry. Thus, this study has manufactured and designed the electromagnetic spectrometric with CCD and then analyzed the phenomenon of foot. A video imaging system was studied for direct observation of the separated parts of bores during photons aborted and scattered. Data aquisition in addition with the possibility of further image processing, made it possible to clear and real image of the separated part of medical engineering. In the yesterday, CCD was thought to be used in only broadcasting system. But nowadays. it is thought to be used the industrial demand in observations, instrumentations and robotics as the industry develops.

        Oral Sulfate Solution Is as Effective as Polyethylene Glycol with Ascorbic Acid in a Split Method for Bowel Preparation in Patients with Inactive Ulcerative Colitis: A Randomized, Multicenter, and Single-Blind Clinical Trial

        Background/Aims: Low-volume preparations for colonoscopy are gaining attention for their higher acceptability. However, the efficacy and safety of oral sulfate solution (OSS) preparations in patients with ulcerative colitis (UC) has not been well known. Therefore, we aimed to compare OSS and 2-L polyethylene glycol with ascorbic acid (PEG+Asc) for bowel preparation in inactive UC. Methods: A multicenter, randomized, single-blind study was conducted at six tertiary referral hospitals in Korea. Outpatients with UC who had stable disease activity were randomly allocated to the OSS group or the 2-L PEG+Asc group for bowel preparation before colonoscopy. The study outcomes included treatment efficacy, safety, tolerability, and acceptability. Bowel cleansing was assessed using the Boston Bowel Preparation Scale and rated as successful cleansing if the score was ≥6. Patient acceptance and tolerability were assessed using a 4-point ordinal scale. Additionally, disease activity and laboratory data before and after colonoscopy were evaluated to check for safety. Results: The OSS and 2-L PEG+Asc groups included 92 and 93 participants, respectively. No significant between-group difference was noted in successful cleansing (OSS [96.7%] vs 2-L PEG+Asc [97.8%], p=0.64). Moreover, the safety, acceptance, and tolerability were not significantly different (all p>0.05). Furthermore, no significant changes were found in serum electrolytes or disease activity in either group. Conclusions: OSS is effective for colonoscopy cleansing, has acceptable tolerability, and does not affect disease activity; thus, it can be used safely for bowel preparation in patients with inactive UC.

        The Socioeconomic Burden of Acquired Brain Injury among the Korean Patients over 20 Years of Age in 2015–2017: a Prevalence-Based Approach

        Acquired brain injury (ABI) is a leading cause of serious long-term disability resulting in substantial economic costs for post-ABI care. This study was conducted to estimate the socioeconomic burden of persons with ABI in Korea. We used a prevalence-based approach and societal perspective to estimate the direct medical, non-medical costs and indirect costs of ABI, including stroke, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and non-traumatic ABI (anoxia, brain tumor, encephalitis, meningitis, hydrocephalus, and other brain disorders) from 2015 to 2017. The study population included patients with ABI over 20 years of age and analyzed according to insurance types encompassing National Health Insurance and automobile insurance. The socioeconomic burden of ABI was 4.67, 5.18, and 5.73 trillion KRW (approximately 4,162, 4,612, and 5,106 million USD) from 2015 to 2017 and around 0.3% of Korea's GDP annually. Estimating by disease, the socioeconomic cost was 72.4% for stroke, 18.6% for TBI, and 9.0% for non-traumatic ABI. Calculated by cost component, medical costs and non-medical costs showed a slight increase every year. Through this study, establishment of rehabilitation systems maximizing the health and quality of life for injured persons remain the key public health strategy for ABI to reduce socioeconomic burden and financial policies to support patients should be needed

        형광분광분석법에 의한 Methylene Blue 와 Thionine 의 Metachromasy

        Metachromatic properties of admixture of methylene blue(MB) and thionin in aqueous solution has been studied by fluorescence spectroscopy. In spite of nonfluorescence character has been MB itself, mixing MB to monomeric concentration of thionine, new coaggregation band has been formed in shorter wave length than fluorescence of thionine because of MB was redistributed to thionine aggregate. It suggested that coaggregate of MB and thionine were more tightly formed than the each dye aggregate.

        Exosomes: Nomenclature, Isolation, and Biological Roles in Liver Diseases

        The biogenesis and biological roles of extracellular vesicles (EVs) in the progression of liver diseases have attracted considerable attention in recent years. EVs are membrane-bound nanosized vesicles found in different types of body fluids and contain various bioactive materials, including proteins, lipids, nucleic acids, and mitochondrial DNA. Based on their origin and biogenesis, EVs can be classified as apoptotic bodies, microvesicles, and exosomes. Among these, exosomes are the smallest EVs (30-150 nm in diameter), which play a significant role in cell-to-cell communication and epigenetic regulation. Moreover, exosomal content analysis can reveal the functional state of the parental cell. Therefore, exosomes can be applied to various purposes, including disease diagnosis and treatment, drug delivery, cell-free vaccines, and regenerative medicine. However, exosome-related research faces two major limitations: isolation of exosomes with high yield and purity and distinction of exosomes from other EVs (especially microvesicles). No standardized exosome isolation method has been established to date; however, various exosome isolation strategies have been proposed to investigate their biological roles. Exosome-mediated intercellular communications are known to be involved in alcoholic liver disease and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease development. Damaged hepatocytes or nonparenchymal cells release large numbers of exosomes that promote the progression of inflammation and fibrogenesis through interactions with neighboring cells. Exosomes are expected to provide insight on the progression of liver disease. Here, we review the biogenesis of exosomes, exosome isolation techniques, and biological roles of exosomes in alcoholic liver disease and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.

      • L-α-lecithin으로 재구성된 Bacteriorhodopsin Vesicle에서 Methylene Blue의 Metachromasy

        Absorption properties of methylene blue(MB) in L-α-lecithin vesicle, bacteriorhodopsin and incorporated bacteriorhodopsin (InBR) vesicle system at 20∼60℃ has been studied by absorption spectroscopy. The equilibrium of MB between monomer and dimer in lecithin vesicles has been existed at low concentration of MB, but oligomer has been formed in vesicle at high concentration of MB. In most cases, the MB cluster was redistributed to monomer in the high concentration of lecithin vesicles. Adding BR to constant concentration of MB decreased the absorption ratio(a/P) of MB, and MB was formed oligomeric aggregate. Absorption ratio(α/β) of MB was increased during phase transition of InBR vesicles, but independent of phase transition of lecithin vesicles. It suggested that aggregate of MB on the surfaces of InBR vesicles were redistributed to monomer under the influence of lipid phase transition.
