라바노테이션 보표를 이용해 한국궁중무용을 재구성하면서 많은 난제가 있었다. 보표에 춤 스타일에 대한 묘사가 자세히 나타나있고 음악에 대한 이해를 돕기 위한 설명이 따로 포함돼 있었음에도 불구하고 재구성자들은 그러한 설명을 몸으로 구현하는데 어려움을 느꼈다. 이는 재구성자들이 한국춤을 훈련받은 적이 없고 한국문화에 대한 제약된 경험만을 가지고 있었기 때문이다. 재구성자들은 한국춤 교사와 함께 작업하면서 움직임의 의도들을 명확히 이해할 수 있었으며 또한 춤에 내재된 중요한 문화적 요소들을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 경험은 춤을 재구성할 때 사전에 특정춤 스타일에 대한 훈련이 필요하다는 것과 보표가 전달하지 못하는 정보를 배우기 위해서는 문화 내부자와의 연계 작업이 중요하다는 것을 보여준다. While reconstructing a Korean court dance from Labanotation, many challenges arose. Despite the inclusion of stylistic details in the score and instructions for understanding the music, kinesthetically producing these aspects was difficult because the reconstructors were not trained in Korean dance and had limited exposure to Korean culture. Working with a Korean style coach clarified movement intentions and revealed important cultural elements in the dance. This experience demonstrated the need for training in a particular dance style before reconstruction, and the importance of working with a cultural insider to learn information that the score cannot convey.
