쓰기 교육에 관한 다층적 연구: 이중언어를 구사하는 도시 학급 학생의 주도적 반응을 통해

요즘의 교육예산 삭감과 표준화된 시험제도하에서, 초등학교 고학년에 재학 중인 소수 언어 학생들은 흔히 상급 수준의 독서 및 논술 능력을 배양하지 못하고 있다. 아주 흔히, 영어를 모국어로 사용하는 학생을 가르치는 일반 교사들은 소수 언어 사용자 학생들의 필요에 맞게 적절히 가르칠 준비가 되어 있지 않다고 느끼고 있다. 이 연구는 한 교사가 비판적 언어 교사 연수에서 습득한 논술 교수법를 초등학교 5학년 교실에서 6개월 간의 실행한 후, 그 적용된 교수법과 학생들의 논술 발달 과정의 상관 관계를 한 학생의 논술를 통해 서술적으로 기술하고 있다. 이 논문은 문학 서술 단원에서 버날도란 이름을 가진 한 핵심 학생의 글과 수업시간의 의사소통을 담화분석법을 이용하여 분석하고 있다. 연구 결과에 의하면 교사는 글간의 상호 연결성, 언어에 대한 기본 구조 교수와, 글의 독자를 철처한 가르쳤고, 그러한 교수법은 버날도가 자율적인으로 글을 쓰도록 도왔다: 그 학생은 어린이 동화책의 언어 패턴과 이미지와 더불어 다른 도서의 내용을 자신의 글에 이용하였다. 이 논문의 결말은 교사들이 이 교수법을 어떻게 적용할 수 있는가를 논하고 있다.

Objective: The aim was to investigate indicators related to DNA damage and cancer pathogenesis in Type II diabetes cases with breast cancer. It was planned to evaluate the relationship between these markers with oral antidiabetic drugs. Research Design and Methods: Fourty patients and 10 healthy individuals were included in the study. HIF-$1{\alpha}$ and 8-OHdG are examined in blood samples taken from these individuals with an ELISA Kit. Statistical analysis of data was performed with 95% confidence using Windows package program SPSS 15.0. Results: HIF-$1{\alpha}$ parameters were found to be meaningfully higher in the patient group than the controls in both pretreatment and posttreatment periods (p<0.05). No significant differences in terms of 8-OHdG between patients and controls. However, posttreatment serum HIF-$1{\alpha}$ ve 8-OHdG levels was found lower than pretreatment levels in patients receiving metformin, but not with pioglitazone. Conversely, serum 8-OHdG levels decreased significantly in these patients. When patients were evaluated according to the treatment groups (pioglitazone vs. metfformin) no significant differences in terms of serum HIF-$1{\alpha}$ and 8-OHdG levels between treatment groups. Conclusions: HIF-$1{\alpha}$ levels decreased significantly in the patient group receiving metformin. However, there was no significant difference in terms of HIF-$1{\alpha}$ levels in the patients receiving pioglitazone.

Background and Aims: Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in males in many populations. Metformin is the most widely used anti-diabetic drug in the world, and there is increasing evidence of a potential efficacy of this agent as an anti-cancer drug. Metformin inhibits the proliferation of a range of cancer cells including prostate, colon, breast, ovarian, and glioma lines. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a class of small, non-coding, single-stranded RNAs that downregulate gene expression. We aimed to evaluate the effects of metformin treatment on changes in miRNA expression in PC-3 cells, and possible associations with biological behaviour. Materials and Methods: Average cell viability and cytotoxic effects of metformin were investigated at 24 hour intervals for three days using the xCELLigence system. The $IC_{50}$ dose of metformin in the PC-3 cells was found to be 5 mM. RNA samples were used for analysis using custom multi-species microarrays containing 1209 probes covering 1221 human mature microRNAs present in miRBase 16.0 database. Results: Among the human miRNAs investigated by the arrays, 10 miRNAs were up-regulated and 12 miRNAs were down-regulated in the metformin-treated group as compared to the control group. In conclusion, expression changes in miRNAs of miR-146a, miR-100, miR-425, miR-193a-3p and, miR-106b in metformin-treated cells may be important. This study may emphasize a new role of metformin on the regulation of miRNAs in prostate cancer.

Bark canker, wood discoloration, and wilting of the duku tree (Lansium domesticum) along the watershed of Komering River, South Sumatra Province, Indonesia first appeared in 2013. The incidence of tree mortality was 100% within 3 years in badly infected orchards. A Ceratocystis species was consistently isolated from the diseased tissue and identified by morphological and sequence analyses of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) and β-tubulin regions. Pathogenicity tests were conducted and Koch’s postulates were confirmed. The fungus was also pathogenic on Acacia mangium, but was less pathogenic on mango. Partial flooding was unfavourable for disease development. Two described isolates (WRC and WBC) had minor variation in mor- phology and DNA sequences, but the former exhibited a more pathogenic on both duku and acacia. The ITS phylogenies grouped the most pathogenic isolate (WRC) causing wilting of the duku tree within the aggressive and widely distributed ITS5 haplotype of C. fimbriata.
