        Review on Metrics and Prediction Methods of Civil Aviation Noise

        Civil aviation noise is one of the main factors hindering the growth of the civil aviation industry. With the increase in global air traffic demand, the problem of aviation noise pollution will become more and more serious. It is of great significance to carry out research in aviation noise. First, by summarizing the characteristics of aviation noise metrics, this paper divides them into three categories: single event noise metrics, cumulative exposure metrics, and daily metrics. Representative metrics of each category are selected for explanation and in-depth analysis. Second, according to the principles of aviation noise prediction models, this paper classifies these existing models into three categories: best practice models, scientific models, and machine learning models. Relevant academic research results are summarized. The best practice model regards the aircraft as noise point source, and its specialty is to predict noise under complex air traffic conditions. The scientific model considers the noise from the level of aircraft components and reflects the underlying physical effects. Based on data, the machine learning model uses algorithms to mine the hidden relationship between various factors and noise to achieve the purpose of noise prediction. Then, this paper introduces two kinds of aviation noise simulation software based on the best practice and scientific models, and lists their access addresses. Finally, challenges and prospects are presented from three aspects: metrics, prediction models and simulation software.

      • The Spatial Performance of Multi-Level Shopping Clusters A Case Study of Nanshan Commercial Cultural District

        With the intensification of urban development in Chinese cities, mixed land use in urban centers extends vertically into 3-D and expands its scale from a single building to commercial clusters. The multi-level pedestrian system in city centers also changed its role from one of traffic isolation to spatial integration, where transit nodes, street sidewalks, squares, building entrances, atriums, and corridors are interconnected, both horizontally and vertically, into a whole spatial system, within which pedestrian flows are guided and shopping facilities are arranged. This paper uses spatial configuration analysis of space syntax to examine the impacts of spatial patterns on movement distribution and the business performance of tenant mix in the multi-level commercial system of the Nanshan Commercial Cultural District in Shenzhen, China. The key objective is to better understand the interactions between the socio-economic variables and spatial design parameters of a shopping complex. The research findings point to the importance of multiplicity between syntactic variables and other spatial variables in influencing the pedestrian flows, business performance and tenant mix in highly complex commercial systems. Particularly noteworthy is the relationship between spatial accessibility measures and the location of escalators, and the ways in which individual commercial buildings are embedded into the overall spatial system. The study suggests that this may lead to the preliminary identification of the spatial qualities of effective vertical extensions of mixed land use in a high-density urban settings.

      • DEGSO : Hybrid Group Search Optimizer with Differential Evolution Operator

        In standard group search optimizer (GSO) algorithm, scroungers will converge to the similar position if the producer cannot find a better position than the old one in a number of successive iterations and the group may suffer from the premature convergence. In this paper, a hybrid GSO with differential evolution (DE) operator named DEGSO is proposed to enhance the diversity of standard group search optimizer. In this method, the standard GSO algorithm and the DE operator alternate at the odd iterations and at the even iterations. The results of the experiments indicate that DEGSO is competitive to some other evolutionary computation (EA) algorithms.

        Ginsenoside Rb1 exerts neuroprotective effects through regulation of Lactobacillus helveticus abundance and GABA<SUB>A</SUB> receptor expression

        Background: Ginsenoside Rb1 (Rb1), one of the most abundant protopanaxadiol-type ginsenosides, exerts excellent neuroprotective effects even though it has low intracephalic exposure. Purpose: The present study aimed to elucidate the apparent contradiction between the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of Rb1 by studying the mechanisms underlying neuroprotective effects of Rb1 based on regulation of microflora. Methods: A pseudo germ-free (PGF) rat model was established, and neuroprotective effects of Rb1 were compared between conventional and PGF rats. The relative abundances of common probiotics were quantified to reveal the authentic probiotics that dominate in the neuroprotection of Rb1. The expressions of the gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptors, including GABAA receptors (α2, β2, and γ2) and GABAB receptors (1b and 2), in the normal, ischemia/reperfusion (I/R), and I/RþRb1 rat hippocampus and striatum were assessed to reveal the neuroprotective mechanism of Rb1. Results: The results showed that microbiota plays a key role in neuroprotection of Rb1. The relative abundance of Lactobacillus helveticus (Lac.H) increased 15.26 fold after pretreatment with Rb1. I/R surgery induced effects on infarct size, neurological deficit score, and proinflammatory cytokines (IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α) were prevented by colonizing the rat gastrointestinal tract with Lac.H (1×10<SUP>9</SUP> CFU) by gavage 15 d before I/R surgery. Both Rb1 and Lac.H upregulated expression of GABA receptors in I/R rats. Coadministration of a GABAA receptor antagonist significantly attenuated neuroprotective effects of Rb1 and Lac.H. Conclusion: In sum, Rb1 exerts neuroprotective effects by regulating Lac.H and GABA receptors rather than through direct distribution to the target sites.

        Influence of stress level on uniaxial ratcheting effect and ratcheting strain rate in austenitic stainless steel Z2CND18.12N

        Uniaxial ratcheting behavior of Z2CND18.12N austenitic stainless steel used nuclear power plant piping material was studied. The results indicated that ratcheting strain increased with increasing of stress amplitude under the same mean stress and different stress amplitude, ratcheting strain increased with increasing of mean stress under the same stress amplitude and different mean stress. Based on least square method, a suitable method to arrest ratcheting by loading the materials was proposed, namely determined method of zero ratcheting strain rate. Zero ratcheting strain rate occur under specified mean stress and stress amplitudes. Moreover, three dimensional ratcheting boundary surface graph was established with stress amplitude, mean stress and ratcheting strain rate. This represents a graphical surface zone to study the ratcheting strain rates for various mean stress and stress amplitude combinations. The graph showed the ratcheting behavior under various combinations of mean and amplitude stresses. The graph was also expressed with the help of experimental results of certain sets of mean and stress amplitude conditions. Further, experimentation cost and time can be saved.

        Rapid Structural Improvement of CVD-Grown Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes by Drastic Thermite Reaction

        Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) produced by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) are the most common commercial products at extremely low price in the market. However, due to the inherent drawbacks of CVD surroundings at temperature below ~ 1000℃, CVD-grown nanotubes usually have very disordered structure, resulting in most of their properties being much below expectations. Herein, we present a simple and energy-efficient method for improving rapidly the structure of CVD-grown MWCNTs via a drastic thermite reaction process. Direct observations from scan electron microscope (SEM) and transmission electron microscope (TEM) images, decrease of ID/IG ratios in Raman spectra, increase of the starting oxidation temperatures observed in thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), decrease of the volumetric electrical resistivity and decrease of the turn-on electric fields from 3.64 to 2.88 V/µm in field emission measurements suggest that the graphitization of MWCNTs can be effectively enhanced and the structure of nanotubes becomes more ordered after the drastic thermite reaction process.

      • Limit load, shakedown and ratchet analysis of pressurized lateral nozzle

        This paper evaluates the limit load, shakedown limit and ratchet limit of the oblique nozzle based on the linear matching method (LMM). In order to study the influencing factors of the limit load, shakedown limit and ratchet limit of the oblique nozzle, oblique nozzle models with different dip angles, diameter-to-thickness ratios of the oblique nozzle and diameterto- thickness ratios of the main pipe are established, respectively. Firstly, the limit load, shakedown limit and ratchet limit of the oblique nozzle are studied. At the same time, the influence of the loading mode on the shakedown limit and ratchet limit is also studied. Secondly, oblique nozzles with different defect lengths, widths and depths are established, respectively. The influence of loading paths on shakedown limit and ratchet limit of oblique nozzles with defects are also studied. Finally, shakedown limit and ratchet limit diagrams are obtained based on linear matching method. The correctness of shakedown limit and ratchet limit diagrams is validated by ABAQUS incremental elastic-plastic analysis.
