Mechanical and Rheological Properties of Isotactic Polypropylene/Bacterial Cellulose Composites

        Bo Wang,Hai-Rong Zhang,Chao Huang,Lian Xiong,Jun Luo,Xin-De Chen 한국고분자학회 2017 폴리머 Vol.41 No.3

To improve the mechanical performance of isotactic polypropylene (iPP), the iPP/bacterial cellulose (BC) composites were prepared. The tensile and impact strength of the composites were maximized (38.21MPa and 2.812 KJ/m²) when maleic anhydride grafted polypropylene (MAPP) content was 7 wt%, the tensile modulus was increased with the higher MAPP content and the maximum value was 1858.39 MPa. Compared with pure iPP, the tensile strength, impact strength and tensile modulus increased by 6.32 MPa, 0.75 KJ/m², and 279.68 MPa, respectively. Compared with the control group (the sample which added BC but no MAPP added), the tensile strength, impact strength and tensile modulus increased by 5.61 MPa, 0.692 KJ/m², and 11.24 MPa, respectively. Moreover, the elongation at break of the composites was decreased. Besides, the rheological results and SEM photographs indicated that with the addition of MAPP, the compatibility of the composites was improved greatly, which demonstrated the increase of the mechanical properties of the composites.

Photoinduced Electron Transfer-Reversible Addition-Fragmentation Chain Transfer (PET-RAFT) Polymerization Using Titanium Dioxide

        Bo-Fei Cheng,Long-Hai Wang,Ye-Zi You 한국고분자학회 2016 Macromolecular Research Vol.24 No.9

Photoinitiated living radical polymerization has attracted wide attention in recent years. Titanium dioxide (TiO2) is a kind of semi-conducting metal oxide which is widely used in water treatment, photovoltaics and organic synthesis. However, there is few application in living radical polymerization. In this study, photoinduced electron transfer-reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (PET-RAFT) polymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) using TiO2 as photoredox catalyst is successfully carried out. It offers good control over molecular weights and polydispersities (PDI). The end group fidelity of PMMA is successfully demonstrated by chain extension for the preparation of poly(methyl methacrylate)-b-poly(dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate) (PMMA-b-PDMAEMA) copolymer. Moreover, the polymerization can be controlled by switching “ON” and “OFF” the light.

Protective Effect of Magnolol on TBHP-Induced Injury in H460 Cells Partially via a p53 Dependent Mechanism

        Hai-bo Li,Jian-mei Gao,Xi-xiang Ying,Shu-Peng Wang,Jian-chun Li 대한약학회 2007 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.30 No.7

The aim is to investigate the effect of Magnolol preserved H460 cells from an oxidative agent tert-butylhydroperoxide (TBHP)-induced cell death. Magnolol augmented cell survival ratio after TBHP challenged. The protective action of this drug was more efficacious than that of Nacetylcysteine (NAC) which is a putative antioxidant. DNA damage, detected by the comet assay, was diminished after treatment of Magnolol. The cells viability decreased after treatment with 0.15 mM TBHP for 24 h, accompanied by inducing apoptotic death of the cells. Cytotoxicity and apoptosis induced by TBHP were significantly inhibited or attenuated after pretreatment with 20 µM Magnolol. Magnolol contributes to the cells survival through downregulated the p53 phosphorylation and PTEN expression, and upregulated Akt phosphorylation. Taken together, Magnolol was effective against DNA single strand breaks (SSB) formation, cytotoxicity and lipid peroxidation induced by TBHP, and its effects on p53 phosphorylation, PTEN and Akt phosphorylation were due to its antioxidative function, and partially via a p53 dependent mechanism in this protective effects.

리그닌 함유 셀룰로오스 나노섬유로 강화된 폴리락틴산 나노복합재의 제조 및 분석

        Hai Bo Sun,Xuan Wang,Li Ping Zhang 한국고분자학회 2014 폴리머 Vol.38 No.4

A chemo-mechanical method was used to prepare lignin-containing cellulose nanofibrils(L-CNF) from unbleached woodpulps dispersed uniformly in an organic solvent. L-CNF/PLA composites were obtained by solvent cast-ing method. The effects of L-CNF concentration on the composite performances were characterized by tensile test machine. contact angle machine, scanning electron microscope (SEM), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The tensile test results indicated that the tensile strength and elongation-at-break increased by 50.6%and 31.8% compared with pure PLA. The contact angle of PLA composites decreased from 79.3° to 68.9°. The FTIR analysis suc- cessfully showed that L-CNF had formed intermolecular hydrogen bonding with PLA matrix.

      • Lack of Association Between the CYP1A1 Ile462Val Polymorphism and Endometrial Cancer Risk: a Meta-analysis

Wang, Xi-Wen,Zhong, Tian-Yu,Xiong, Yun-Hui,Lin, Hai-Bo,Liu, Qing-Yi Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2012 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.13 No.8

Purpose: Any association between the CYP1A1 Ile462Val polymorphism and endometrial cancer risk remains inconclusive. For a more precise estimate, we performed the present meta-analysis. Methods: PUBMED, OVID and EMBASE were searched for the studies which met inclusion criteria. Data in all eligible studies were evaluated and extracted by two authors independently. The meta-analysis estimated pooled odds ratio (OR) with 95% confidence interval (CI) for endometrial cancer risk attributable to the CYP1A1 Ile462Val polymorphism. Results: A total of 7 studies were included in this meta-analysis. The results indicated no association between endometrial cancer risk and the CYP1A1 Ile462Val polymorphism (for Val vs Ile allele model [OR 1.09, 95% CI 0.73-1.62]; for Val.Val vs Ile.Ile genotype model [OR 1.54, 95% CI 0.56-4.23]; for (Ile.Val + Val.Val) vs Ile.Ile genotpye model [OR 1.08, 95% CI 0.71-1.63]; for Val.Val vs (Ile.Ile + Ile.Val) genotype model [OR 1.46, 95% CI 0.53-4.04]). Conclusions: This meta-analysis suggests that there is no association between endometrial cancer risk and the CYP1A1 Ile462Val polymorphism.

The Incidence, Changes and Treatments of Cervical Deformity After Infection and Inflammation

        Bo Han,Jianqiang Wang,Yong Hai,Duan Sun,Weishi Liang,Peng Yin,Hongtao Ding 대한척추신경외과학회 2023 Neurospine Vol.20 No.1

A healthy cervical spine with normal movement is the basis of many daily activities and is essential for maintaining a good quality of life. However, the alignment, fusion, and structure of the cervical spine can change for various reasons, leading to cervical deformity, mainly kyphosis. Approximately 5%‒20% of spinal infections in the cervical spine cause cervical deformity. The deformity can recover early; however, the disease's long-term existence or the continuous action of abnormal stress may lead to intervertebral fusion and abnormal osteophytes. Many gaps and controversies exist regarding infectious cervical deformities, including a lack of clear definitions and an acceptable classification system thereby requiring further research. Moreover, there is no consensus on the indications for postinfectious cervical deformity associated with Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Staphylococcus aureus, and Brucellosis. Therefore, we reviewed and discussed the incidence, clinical manifestations, changes, and treatment of infectious and inflammatory secondary cervical deformities from common to rare to provide a theoretical basis for clinical decision-making.

      • Cobalt Chloride Induces Necroptosis in Human Colon Cancer HT-29 Cells

Wang, Hai-Yu,Zhang, Bo Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2015 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.16 No.6

Necroptosis, also known as "programmed necrosis", has emerged as a critical factor in a variety of pathological and physiological processes and is considered a cell type-specific tightly regulated process with mechanisms that may vary rather greatly due to the change of cell line. Here we used HT-29, a human colon cancer cell line, to establish a necroptosis model and elucidate associated mechanisms. We discovered that cobalt chloride, a reagent that could induce hypoxia-inducible $factor-1{\alpha}(HIF1{\alpha})$ expression and therefore mimic the hypoxic microenvironment of tumor tissue in some aspects induces necroptosis in HT-29 cells when caspase activity is compromised. On the other hand, apoptosis appears to be the predominant death form when caspases are functioning normally. HT-29 cells demonstrated significantly increased RIPK1, RIPK3 and MLKL expression in response to cobalt chloride plus z-VAD treatment, which was accompanied by drastically increased $IL1{\alpha}$ and IL6 expression, substantiating the notion that necrosis can induce profound immune reactions. The RIPK1 kinase inhibitor necrostatin-1 and the ROS scavenger NAC each could prevent necrosis in HT-29 cells and the efficiency was enhanced by combined treatment. Thus by building up a necroptosis model in human colon cancer cells, we uncovered that mechanically RIP kinases collaborate with ROS during necrosis promoted by cobalt chloride plus z-VAD, which leads to inflammation. Necroptosis may present a new target for therapeutic intervention in cancer cells that are resistant to apoptotic cell death.

Heat transfer and thermal error analysis of micro - macro coaxial driver

        Hai Shun Deng,Yongtao Wang,Tian Xie,Bo Xu,Sen Huang 대한기계학회 2023 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.37 No.10

In order to reduce the influence of temperature on the operating performance of the macro and micro drive, a double-wounding circulating water cooling structure is proposed. Based on the law of thermal resistance, the heat transfer model of the macro and micro drive forced convec-tion cooling was established, and the influencing factors of the internal temperature distribution of the macro and micro drive system were analyzed. And the macro to micro drive forced con-vection cooling when the macro dynamic system part of the output force, and the size of the output displacement and micro system of the rise of temperature of the giant magnetostrictive material (GMM) and output displacement simulation and experiment, the results show that when the circulating water flow rate is more than 3 m/s, macro to micro drive internal temperature decreased significantly, the macro dynamic range at around 1 N. The fluctuation range of macrodynamic output displacement is between 0~20 μm. The error of output displacement gen-erated by the micro-motion magnetostrictive rod is less than 1 μm, at this time, the temperature change has little influence on the output force, output displacement and micro output displace-ment of the macro-moving part.

      • Diagnostic Accuracy of Ultrasonograph Guided Fine-needle Aspiration Cytologic in Staging of Axillary Lymph Node Metastasis in Breast Cancer Patients: a Meta-analysis

Wang, Xi-Wen,Xiong, Yun-Hui,Zen, Xiao-Qing,Lin, Hai-Bo,Liu, Qing-Yi Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2012 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.13 No.11

Purpose: To evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of ultrasonograph and fine-needle aspiration cytologic examination (USG-FNAC) in the staging of axillary lymph node metastasis in breast cancer patients. Methods: We conducted an electronic search of the literature addressing the performance of USG-FNAC in diagnosis of axillary lymph node metastasis in databases such as Pubmed, Medline, Embase, Ovid and Cochrane library. We introduced a series of diagnostic test indices to evaluate the performance of USG-FNAC by the random effect model (REM), including sensitivity, specificity, likelihood ratios, and diagnostic odds ratios and area under the curve (AUC). Results: A total of 20 studies including 1371 cases and 1289 controls were identified. The pooled sensitivity was determined to be 0.66 (95% CI 0.64-0.69), specificity 0.98 (95% CI 0.98-0.99), positive likelihood ratio 22.7 (95% CI 15.0-34.49), negative likelihood ratio 0.32 (95% CI 0.25-0.41), diagnostic OR 84.2 (95% CI 53.3-133.0). Due to the marginal threshold effect found in some indices of diagnostic validity, we used a summary SROC curve to aggregate data, and obtained a symmetrical curve with an AUC of 0.942. Conclusion: The results of this meta-analysis indicated that the USG-FNAC techniques have acceptable diagnostic validity indices and can be used for early staging of axillary lymph node in breast cancer patients.
