A new and simple HSDT for isotropic and functionally graded sandwich plates

        Hafida Driz,Mamia Benchohr,Ahmed Bakora,Abdelkader Benachour,Abdelouahed Tounsi,El Abbes Adda Bedia 국제구조공학회 2018 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.26 No.4

A novel higher shear deformation theory (HSDT) is proposed for the bending, buckling and free vibration investigations of isotropic and functionally graded (FG) sandwich plates. It contains only four variables, which is even less than the first shear deformation theory (FSDT) and the conventional HSDTs. The model accounts for a parabolic variation of transverse shear stress, respects the traction free boundary conditions and contrary to the conventional HSDTs, the present one presents a novel displacement field which incorporates undetermined integral terms. Equations of motion determined in this work are applied for three types of FG structures: FG plates, sandwich plates with FG core and sandwich plates with FG faces. Analytical solutions are given to predict the transverse displacements, stresses, critical buckling forces and natural frequencies of simply supported plates and a comparison study is carried out to demonstrate the accuracy of the proposed model.

        Codex architectural et palimpseste urbain

Hafida Boulekbache 고려대학교 응용문화연구소 2015 에피스테메 Vol.0 No.14

The architectural compositions are the fruit of time settings andvarious events. They are the legacy of several superimposed layers and /or juxtaposed, and the result of suggestive projects evokes stratifications, which juggling between two time frames; past and present and theformation of urban palimpsest; the city. The architecture is an "intelligible matter" that involves reasoning andinduces to express and show an intentional act, which creates architecturalexpression of a thought, identity, that is, a "trace". The latter allows thearchitect to design and to include an architectural idea that is recognizableand readable through the perception of space and time. Therefore, theperception of architecture evolves to adapt constantly to the newconditions of use. The architecture is a path and an open book to thefuture, but is also a testimony of the past and a memory.

Probabilistic Models for Local Patterns Analysis

Salim, Khiat,Hafida, Belbachir,Ahmed, Rahal Sid Korea Information Processing Society 2014 Journal of information processing systems Vol.10 No.1

Recently, many large organizations have multiple data sources (MDS') distributed over different branches of an interstate company. Local patterns analysis has become an effective strategy for MDS mining in national and international organizations. It consists of mining different datasets in order to obtain frequent patterns, which are forwarded to a centralized place for global pattern analysis. Various synthesizing models [2,3,4,5,6,7,8,26] have been proposed to build global patterns from the forwarded patterns. It is desired that the synthesized rules from such forwarded patterns must closely match with the mono-mining results (i.e., the results that would be obtained if all of the databases are put together and mining has been done). When the pattern is present in the site, but fails to satisfy the minimum support threshold value, it is not allowed to take part in the pattern synthesizing process. Therefore, this process can lose some interesting patterns, which can help the decider to make the right decision. In such situations we propose the application of a probabilistic model in the synthesizing process. An adequate choice for a probabilistic model can improve the quality of patterns that have been discovered. In this paper, we perform a comprehensive study on various probabilistic models that can be applied in the synthesizing process and we choose and improve one of them that works to ameliorate the synthesizing results. Finally, some experiments are presented in public database in order to improve the efficiency of our proposed synthesizing method.

A new quasi-3D sinusoidal shear deformation theory for functionally graded plates

        Mamia Benchohr,Hafida Driz,Ahmed Bakora,Abdelouahed Tounsi,E.A. Adda Bedia,S. R. Mahmoud 국제구조공학회 2018 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.65 No.1

In this paper, a new quasi-3D sinusoidal shear deformation theory for functionally graded (FG) plates is proposed. The theory considers both shear deformation and thickness-stretching influences by a trigonometric distribution of all displacements within the thickness, and respects the stress-free boundary conditions on the upper and lower faces of the plate without employing any shear correction coefficient. The advantage of the proposed model is that it posses a smaller number of variables and governing equations than the existing quasi-3D models, but its results compare well with those of 3D and quasi-3D theories. This benefit is due to the use of undetermined integral unknowns in the displacement field of the present theory. By employing the Hamilton principle, equations of motion are obtained in the present formulation. Closed-form solutions for bending and free vibration problems are determined for simply supported plates. Numerical examples are proposed to check the accuracy of the developed theory.

      • Female Breast Cancer Incidence and Mortality in Morocco: Comparison with Other Countries

Khalis, Mohamed,El Rhazi, Karima,Charaka, Hafida,Chajes, Veronique,Rinaldi, Sabina,Nejjari, Chakib,Romieu, Isabelle,Charbotel, Barbara Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2016 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.17 No.12

Background: Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed malignancy and the leading cause of cancer death among women worldwide. In Morocco, there have been few recent descriptive studies on female breast cancer. The aim of this study was to describe the latest available incidence and mortality rates of breast cancer among Moroccan women and to compare them with rates in other regional and Western countries. Methods: For this descriptive study, Moroccan incidence data were obtained from the most recent reports of the cancer registries of Casablanca and Rabat. Information on breast cancer incidence for different countries were obtained primarily from publicly available cancer registries and Cancer Incidence in Five Continents, Volume X. Mortality data were extracted from the GLOBOCAN 2012 published by the International Agency for Research on Cancer. Results: The age-standardized incidence (World) rate of breast cancer in Moroccan women increased from 35.0 to 39.0 per 100,000 women between 2004 and 2008, showing an annual increase of 2.85 %. The highest incidence rates were registered in the age groups of 45-49, 50-54 and 55-59 years (106.1, 108.2 and 108.5 respectively). Sixty-nine percent of female breast cancer cases were diagnosed at stages II and III. In 2012, the estimated number of women who died of breast cancer in Morocco was 2,878. The crude, age-standardized (World) mortality rates were 17.3 and 18.0 per 100,000, respectively. Conclusion: Although the incidence of female breast cancer in Morocco is lower than in Western countries, evidence shows that the rate is rising. This increase of breast cancer incidence has been observed in parallel with changes in reproductive behavior and adoption of a Western lifestyle. Prevention policies need to be implemented.
