THE INFLUENCE OF ARTIFICIAL EMPATHY ON CUSTOMER ACCPETANCE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE SERVICE AGENTS
Guoxin Li,Hao Wu,Bo Lu,Yangfang Niu 글로벌지식마케팅경영학회 2023 Global Marketing Conference Vol.2023 No.07
With the evolution of Artificial intelligence (AI), emotional artificial intelligence service agents (AISA) have become common in service industry. However, how artificial empathy of AISA contributes to customer acceptance remains an open question. This study draws on Anthropomorphism Theory and Customer AI Experience Theory to examine whether and how artificial empathy has influence on customer acceptance of AISA. Evidence from three experiments (N=1057) designed by the Experimental vignette method (EVM) shows that: (1) artificial empathy including perspective-taking, empathic concern and emotional contagion has a positive impact on customer acceptance of AISA (study 1); (2) customer AI experience (emotional experience quality, social experience activation and social experience quality) mediates the relationship between artificial empathy and customer acceptance of AISA (study 2); (3) artificial empathy for hedonic (vs. utilitarian) services leads to a stronger effect on customer acceptance of AISA (study 3). This paper enriches our understanding of artificial empathy and provides practical guidance for practitioners strategically managing AISA services in AI-enabled marketing interactions.
EFFECTS OF WORK TIME ON VIRTUAL GIFTS: A LARGE-SCALE EMPIRICAL STUDY OF SELF-EMPLOYED STREAMERS
Bo Lu,Guoxin Li 글로벌지식마케팅경영학회 2023 Global Marketing Conference Vol.2023 No.07
In recent years, advances in the digital and live streaming economy have led to exponential growth in the number of self-employed streamers who have become an integral part of the self-driven digital labor force. However, previous research on the impact of streamers' work time arrangements on their virtual gifts remains scarce. To fill this gap in the literature, using large-scale data from Kuaishou live streaming platform, we demonstrate that several features of streamers' work time have an important impact on their virtual gifts. Specifically, our results suggest that work time duration and timing improve streamers' virtual gifts; meanwhile, work time tempo has an adverse effect on streamers' earnings. Taken together, our results provide novel and actionable insights for millions of self-employed streamers, agencies, platforms, and policymakers.
Investigation of Microscale Laser Shock Flat Hole Clinching
Yaxuan Hou,Kexin Ding,Guoxin Lu,Chao Zheng,Zhong Ji 한국정밀공학회 2022 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.23 No.9
This paper proposes an improved laser shock flat hole clinching process for joining ductile and brittle materials to obtain single-sided flat joints in microscale. A copper foil is clinched with a perforated sheet and a mechanical joining is achieved by this process. Experiments and numerical simulations are conducted for three thickness combinations of 50 μm/50 μm, 30 μm/50 μm and 20 μm/100 μm to investigate the joinability of this process. The results show that a step-by-step laser shock process with a low-energy pre-shock and a high-energy secondary shock can effectively join the copper foil and the perforated sheet. The three thickness combinations of the upper and lower sheets result in three clinching structures, namely stacked, intermediate and thinning joints. And the joint strength mainly depends on the thinner sheet in a successful joining even for the single joint or the double-joint.

Polyurethane phase change materials (PUPCMs) have been extensively applied in smart textiles and wearable electronic devices because of their excellent energy storage capacity. To realize the flexibility of PUPCMs for certain deformation and compact contact with objects, suitable support structures have been chosen to prepare polyurethane phase change composites (PUFPCCs) with energy storage capacity and device-level flexibility. In this work, PUPCM was prepared by the prepolymer method with polyethylene glycol (PEG) as the soft segment, 4,4-dicyclohexylmethane diisocyanate (HMDI) and 1,2-hexanediol as the hard segment. And polyurethane-based adhesives (PUA) were chosen to provide a support structure for PUFPCCs by physically blending and casting with prepared PUPCM. PUFPCCs showed good flexibility attributed to the film-forming performance of polyurethane-based adhesive in the composites. The chemical structure, crystallization properties, phase transformation properties and thermal stability of the prepared PUPCM and PUFPCCs were investigated via Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), 1H NMR spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), polarizing optical microscope (POM), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric (TG) analysis respectively. The phase change temperature of PUFPCCs ranged from 36 to 40 ℃. The maximum enthalpy value of PUFPCCs was up to 40 J/g for daily application. Moreover, the thermal stability of PUPCM was improved attribute to the support structure of PUA in PUFPCCs. Therefore, the prepared PUFPCCs have great potential for application in flexible wearable devices due to their excellent flexibility, suitable phase transition temperature close to human body temperature, high enthalpy value and improved thermal stability.
