Vertical Vibration of Strip Mill with the Piecewise Nonlinear Constraint arising from Hydraulic Cylinder

Fei Liu,Bin Liu,Hao-ran Liu,Yan-ling Gong,Song-jun Wang 한국정밀공학회 2015 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol. No.

Vertical vibration model of strip mill is established by considering piecewise nonlinear constraint arising from hydraulic cylinder. The approximate analytical solution of the model is obtained by incremental harmonic balance (IHB) method. The harmonic frequencies not conducive to stability are produced because the nonlinearity of the piecewise constraint. Bifurcation behavior of the system changes with external excitation amplitude and frequency ratio, intermittent chaos and periodic window are appeared alternately, the chaos region enlarged with the increasing piecewise interval. Compared with the piecewise linear constraint, the region of chaotic motion is widened obviously under the nonlinear constraint. Moreover, the critical condition of bifurcation and chaos behavior can be obtained from maximum Lyapunov exponent (MLE).

      • Comparison of Complications of Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters with Ultrasound Guidance or Conventional Methods in Cancer Patients

        Gong, Ping,Huang, Xin-En,Chen, Chuan-Ying,Liu, Jian-Hong,Meng, Ai-Feng,Feng, Ji-Feng Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2012 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.13 No.5

Objective: To compare the complications of peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC) by a modified Seldinger technique under ultrasound guidance or the conventional (peel-away cannula) technique. Methods: From February to December of 2010, cancer patients who received PICC at the Department of Chemotherapy in Jiangsu Cancer Hospital were recruited into this study, and designated UPICC if their PICC lines were inserted under ultrasound guidance, otherwise CPICC if were performed by peel-away cannula technique. The rates of successful placement, hemorrhage around the insertion area, phlebitis, comfort of the insertion arm, infection and thrombus related to catheterization were analyzed and compared on days 1, 5 and 6 after PICC and thereafter. Results: A total of 180 cancer patients were recruited, 90 in each group. The rates of successful catheter placement between two groups differed with statistical significance (P <0.05), favoring UPICC. More phlebitis and finger swelling were detected in the CPICC group (P <0.05). From day 6 to the date the catheter was removed and thereafter, more venous thrombosis and a higher rate of discomfort of insertion arms were also observed in the CPICC group. Conclusion: Compared with CPICC, UPICC could improve the rate of successful insertion, reduce catheter related complications and increase comfort of the involved arm, thus deserving to be further investigated in randomized clinical studies.

      • Outcomes Based on Risk Assessment of Anastomotic Leakage after Rectal Cancer Surgery

        Gong, Jian-Ping,Yang, Liu,Huang, Xin-En,Sun, Bei-Cheng,Zhou, Jian-Nong,Yu, Dong-Sheng,Zhou, Xin,Li, Dong-Zheng,Guan, Xin,Wang, Dong-Feng Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.2

Purpose: Anastomotic leakage (AL) is associated with high morbidity and mortality, high reoperation rates, and increased hospital length of stay. Here we investigated the risk factors for AL after anterior resection for rectal cancer with a double stapling technique. Patients and Methods: Data for 460 patients who underwent primary anterior resection with a double stapling technique for rectal carcinoma at a single institution from 2003 to 2007 were prospectively collected. All patients experienced a total mesorectal excision (TME) operation. Clinical AL was defined as the presence of leakage signs and confirmed by diagnostic work-up according to ICD-9 codes 997.4, 567.22 (abdominopelvic abscess), and 569.81 (fistula of the intestine). Univariate and logistic regression analyses of 20 variables were undertaken to determine risk factors for AL. Survival was analysed using the Cox regression method. Results: AL was noted in 35 (7.6%) of 460 patients with rectal cancer. :Median age of the patients was 65 (50-74) and 161 (35%) were male. The diagnosis of AL was made between the 6th and 12th postoperative day (POD; mean 8th POD). After univariate and multivariate analysis, age (p=0.004), gender (p=0.007), tumor site (p<0.001), preoperative body mass index (EMI) (p<0.001), the reduction of TSGF on 5th POD less than 10U/ml (p=0.044) and the pH value of pelvic dranage less than or equal to 6.978 on 3rd POD (p<0.001) were selected as 6 independent risk factors for AL. It was shown that significant differences in survival of the patients were AL-related (p<0.001), high ASA score related (p=0.036), high-level EMI related (p=0.007) and advanced TNM stage related <p<0.001). Conclusions: AL after anterior resection for rectal carcinoma is related to advanced age, low tumor site, male sex, high preoperative EMI, low pH value of pelvic drainage on POD 3 and a significant reduction of TSGF on POD 5. In addition to their high risk of immediate postoperative morbidity and mortality, AL, worse physical status, severe obesity and advanced TNM stage have similarly negative impact on survival.

Comparative Study of Flux Regulation Methods for Hybrid Permanent Magnet Axial Field Flux-switching Memory Machines

        Gong-De Yang,Xinghe Fu,Mingyao Lin,Nian Li,Hao Liu 전력전자학회 2019 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.19 No.1

This research comparatively studies three kinds of flux regulation methods, namely, stored capacitor discharge pulse (SCDP),constant current source pulse (CCSP), and quantitative flux regulation pulse (QFRP), which are used for hybrid permanentmagnet (PM) axial field flux-switching memory machines (HPM-AFFSMMs). Through an analysis of the operation principleand the series hybrid PM flux regulation mechanism of the objective machine, the circuit topologies and flux regulation processof these flux regulation methods are addressed in detail. On the basis of a simulation, the flux regulation characteristics of theresearched machine during the magnetization and demagnetization processes are comparatively evaluated. Then, machineperformance, including back EMF, direct and quadrature axis inductances, and magnetization and demagnetizationcharacteristics, is quantitatively investigated. Results show that the QFRP enables the HPM-AFFSMM to achieve a lessharmonic component of back EMF by approximately 7.28% and 7.97% at the magnetization and demagnetization states, respectively, and a more complete magnetization process than the SCDP and CCSP.

Identification a novel de novo RUNX2 frameshift mutation associated with cleidocranial dysplasia

        Gong Lei,Odilov Bekzod,Han Feng,Liu Fuqiang,Sun Yujing,Zhang Ningxin,Zuo Xiaolin,Yang Jiaojiao,Wang Shouyu,Hou Xinguo,Ren Jianmin 한국유전학회 2022 Genes & Genomics Vol.44 No.6

Background: Cleidocranial dysplasia (CCD) is a rare genetic disorder affecting bone and cartilage development. Clinical features of CCD comprise short stature, delayed ossification of craniofacial structures with numerous Wormian bones, underdeveloped or aplastic clavicles and multiple dental anomalies. Several studies have revealed that CCD development is strongly linked with different mutations in runt-related transcription factor 2 (RUNX2) gene. Objective: Identification and functional characterization of RUNX2 mutation associated with CCD. Methods: We performed genetic testing of a patient with CCD using whole exome sequencing and found a novel RUNX2 frameshift mutation: c.1550delT in a sporadic case. We also compared the functional activity of the mutant and wild-type RUNX2 through immunofluorescence microscopy and osteocalcin promoter luciferase assay. Results: We found a novel RUNX2 frameshift mutation, c.1550delT (p.Trp518Glyfs*60). Both mutant RUNX2 and wild-type RUNX2 protein were similarly confined in the nuclei. The novel mutation caused abrogative transactivation activity of RUNX2 on osteocalcin promoter. Conclusions: We explored a novel RUNX2 deletion/frameshift mutation in a sporadic CCD patient. This finding suggests that the VWRPY domain may play a key role in RUNX2 transactivation ability.

Thickness effect on the stability of unipolar resistance switching in tin ferrite thin films

        Gong, Guodong,Wu, Changjin,Hu, Pengfei,Li, Ying,Kwon, Namic,Liu, Chunli Elsevier 2016 CURRENT APPLIED PHYSICS Vol.16 No.9

<P>We report the reproducible unipolar resistance switching behavior in Pt/SnFe2O4/Pt structures. The amorphous SnFe2O4 thin film was spin-coated on the Pt/TiO2/SiO2/Si substrate by a sol-gel method. The current-voltage characterization showed that as the spin coating cycles increased, the resistive switching (RS) characteristics became stable, and an excellent RS performance showing uniform set voltage distribution, stable resistance of both low resistance and high resistance states, and narrow reset current distribution can be obtained in SFO films with a thickness about 220 nm. Based on the conducting filament model, the variation of the RS behavior was ascribed to the increase of the electroforming voltage in the thicker films, which consequently induced more oxygen vacancies to participate in the RS process. Our results indicated that the electroforming voltage performs a significant role in the RS properties of the amorphous SnFe2O4 and the optimized RS behavior through the regulation of preparation process can be used for the resistance random access memory applications. Se improves GPX4 expression and SOD activity to alleviate heat-stress-induced ferroptosis-like death in goat mammary epithelial cells

        Liu Lu,Wang Manjiang,Gong Ning,Tian Peng,Deng Hongxia 한국통합생물학회 2021 Animal cells and systems Vol.25 No.5

Selenium (Se) is a vital element of life, which has an important impact on the growth, development, production performance and stress-tolerance of animals. However, it is not entirely clear that how exactly Se works during these processes. Herein, we investigate the role of Se in regulating the functions of goat mammary epithelial cells (GMECs) under heat-stress condition. We found that heat stress caused ferroptosis-like death in GMECs, manifested by a robust increase in iron ion concentration, reactive oxygen species (ROS) and cell death ratio, and a decrease in the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and expression level of glutathione peroxidases 4 (GPX4). Se incubation had no obvious effect on GMEC viability, but alleviated heat-stress-induced ferroptosis-like cell death and improved GPX4 expression and SOD activity in a dose-dependent manner. Also, we found that overexpression of GPX4 could improve the activity of SOD. And Se incubation inhibited activation of mTOR signaling in heat-stress-induced GMECs, which could be eliminated by the mTOR activator MHY1485, and treatment with mTOR inhibitor AY-22989 had the same effect as Se. In conclusion, Se improves GPX4 expression and SOD activity and inhibits the activation of mTOR to alleviate heatstress- induced ferroptosis-like death in GMECs, whichmay be a protective agent for heat stress in goats.

Effective Liquid-phase Nitration of Benzene Catalyzed by a Stable Solid Acid Catalyst: Silica Supported Cs2.5H0.5PMo12O40

        Gong, Shu-Wen,Liu, Li-Jun,Zhang, Qian,Wang, Liang-Yin Korean Chemical Society 2012 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.33 No.4

Silica supported $Cs_{2.5}H_{0.5}PMo_{12}O_{40}$ catalyst was prepared through sol-gel method with ethyl silicate-40 as silicon resource and characterized by X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, nitrogen adsorption-desorption and potentiometric titration methods. The $Cs_{2.5}H_{0.5}PMo_{12}O_{40}$ particles with Keggin-type structure well dispersed on the surface of silica, and the catalyst exhibited high surface area and acidity. The catalytic performance of the catalysts for benzene liquid-phase nitration was examined with 65% nitric acid as nitrating agent, and the effects of various parameters were tested, which including temperature, time and amount of catalyst, reactants ratio, especially the recycle of catalyst was emphasized. Benzene was effectively nitrated to mononitro-benzene with high conversion (95%) in optimized conditions. Most importantly, the supported catalyst was proved has excellent stability in the nitration progress, and there were no any other organic solvent and sulfuric acid were used in the reaction system, so the liquid-phase nitration of benzene that we developed was an eco-friendly and attractive alternative for the commercial technology.
