      • A study on thermo-elastic interactions in 2D porous media with-without energy dissipation

Faris Alzahrani,Ibrahim A. Abbas 국제구조공학회 2021 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.38 No.5

The generalized thermoelastic analysis problem of a two-dimension porous medium with and without energy dissipation are obtained in the context of Green–Naghdi's (GNIII) model. The exact solutions are presented to obtain the studying fields due to the pulse heat flux that decay exponentially in the surface of porous media. By using Laplace and Fourier transform with the eigenvalues scheme, the physical quantities are analytically presented. The surface is shocked by thermal (pulse heat flux problems) and applying the traction free on its outer surfaces (mechanical boundary) through transport (diffusion) process of temperature to observe the analytical complete expression of the main physical fields. The change in volume fraction field, the variations of the displacement components, temperature and the components of stress are graphically presented. Suitable discussion and conclusions are presented.

Comparative Work for Darcy-Forchheimer Hybrid Nanofluid Flow Subject to Zinc Ferrite, Nickle Zinc Ferrite

Faris Alzahrani,M. Ijaz Khan 한국자기학회 2021 Journal of Magnetics Vol.26 No.3

Owing to thermal requirements of many industrial and engineering processes, this research presents the improved feature of hybrid nanofluid with applications heat source and sinks features. The most fascinating Zinc ferrite and Nickle Zinc ferrite nanoparticles are used to predict the thermal enhancement in engine oil and Kerosene oil base materials. The radiative phenomenon with nonlinear relations is encountered to enhance the heat transportation pattern. Moreover, the entropy generation assessment is also observed with significances of optimized analysis. The consideration of porous space is inspected by using the Darcy-Forchheimer theory. A comprehensive comparative analysis for enchantment of heat transfer rate is examined between both types of nanoparticles. The physical influence of parameters for velocity, thermal gradient and entropy generation phenomenon is visualized. It is observed that thermal efficiency of ferrite nanoparticles (MnZnFe₂O₄) with suspension of engine oil (C8H18) base liquid is more progressive as compared to the suspensions of ferrite nanoparticles and kerosene oil (C10H22) hybrid material.

The effect of magnetic field on a thermoelastic fiber-reinforced material under GN-III theory

        Faris S. Alzahrani,Ibrahim A. Abbas 국제구조공학회 2016 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.22 No.2

In this work, the two-dimensional generalized magneto-thermoelastic problem of a fiber-reinforced anisotropic material is investigated under Green and Naghdi theory of type III. The solution will be obtained for a certain model when the half space subjected to ramp-type heating and traction free surface. Laplace and exponential Fourier transform techniques are used to obtain the analytical solutions in the transformed domain by the eigenvalue approach. The inverses of Fourier transforms are obtained analytically. The results have been verified numerically and are represented graphically. Comparisons are made with the results predicted by the presence and absence of reinforcement and magnetic field.

Decentralized Fault-tolerant Resilient Control for Fractional-order Interconnected Systems with Input Saturation

        Venkatesan Nithya,Rathinasamy Sakthivel,Faris Alzahrani,마용기 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2019 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.17 No.11

This paper investigates the problem of robust decentralized fault-tolerant resilient control for fractionalorder large-scale interconnected uncertain system, and the problem considered here is subject to mixed H∞ and passivity performance constraint, external disturbances, controller perturbations and control input saturation. Based on the Lyapunov approach, the sufficient conditions are derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities to ensure the asymptotic stabilization of the fractional-order large-scale system with a prespecified mixed H∞ and passivity performance index. The main objective of this work is to design a robust decentralized fault-tolerant resilient controller which compensates both actuator fault and input saturation in its design for obtaining the required result. Finally, a numerical example is included to illustrate the effectiveness of the designed control law. The simulation results reveal that our proposed controller not only can effectively deal with actuator faults, but also has very good robustness for input saturation and external disturbances.

Analytical solution of a two-dimensional thermoelastic problem subjected to laser pulse

        Ibrahim A. Abbas,Faris S. Alzahrani 국제구조공학회 2016 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.21 No.4

In this article, the problem of a two-dimensional thermoelastic half-space are studied using mathematical methods under the purview of the generalized thermoelastic theory with one relaxation time is studied. The surface of the half-space is taken to be thermally insulated and traction free. Accordingly, the variations of physical quantities due to by laser pulse given by the heat input. The nonhomogeneous governing equations have been written in the form of a vector-matrix differential equation, which is then solved by the eigenvalue approach. The analytical solutions are obtained for the temperature, the components of displacement and stresses. The resulting quantities are depicted graphically for different values of thermal relaxation time. The result provides a motivation to investigate the effect of the thermal relaxation time on the physical quantities.

Entropy Effect on Tri-Polar and Quadrupolar Magnetized Vortex in Electron-Positron and Ion (EPI) Plasma

        Imran Amin,M. Yaqoob Khan,M. Waqar Ahmed,Faris Alzahrani,M. Ijaz Khan 한국자기학회 2023 Journal of Magnetics Vol.28 No.1

The entropy of electron-positron and ion plasma plays a significant role in the transportation of particles, momentum, and energy. Drift waves in these plasmas produce central mechanisms for this transport. The effects on tri-polar and quadrupolar vortexes in epi plasma have been analyzed numerically under various approximations. As plasma consists of various elements, it is important to understand the effects of entropy on systems. In this article, we have discussed how entropy affects linear and non-linear equations in the presence of temperature, equilibrium density, electrostatic potential gradients, and a magnetic field. Additionally, by investigating tri-polar and quadrupolar vortexes without regard for entropy effect we can find information about this phenomenon.

      • Correlation of Preoperative Ki67 and Serum CA15.3 Levels with Outcome in Early Breast Cancers - a Multi Institutional Study

        Rasmy, A,Abozeed, W,Elsamany, S,El Baiomy, M,Nashwa, A,Amrallah, A,Hasaan, E,Alzahrani, A,Faris, M,Alsaleh, K,AlFaraj, A Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2016 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.17 No.7

Background: To investigate the association between preoperative pathological Ki-67 labeling index and serum tumor marker cancer antigen 15-3 (CA 15-3) with clinic-pathological parameters and treatment outcomes in early breast cancer. Materials and Methods: A retrospective study at 4 cancer centers in Saudi Arabia and Egypt was performed. Data were collected for female patients diagnosed with unilateral early breast cancer between March 2010 and October 2013. Cases treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) followed by surgery and radiotherapy were included. NACT included 6-8 cycles of anthracycline and taxane based regimens. Trastuzumab and hormonal treatments were added according to HER2 and hormone receptor status. Baseline serum CA15.3 and pathological Ki67 levels were evaluated and correlated with disease free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS). Results: A total of 280 pts was included. The median age was 49 years (38-66 y) and median overall survival was 35 (20-38) months (mo). Estrogen receptors (ER), progesterone receptors (PR) and HER 2 receptors were positive in 233 (83.2%), 198 (70%) and 65 cases (23.2%), respectively. High preoperative Ki67 and CA15.3 were noted in 177 (63.2%) and 131 (46.8%). A total of 45 (16%) patients had distal or local recurrence and 24 (8.6%) died of their disease. Most of the relapsed cases had high preoperative Ki-67 (n=41, 91%) and CA15.3 (n=28, 62%) values. All of the patients who died had a high Ki-67 but CA15.3 was high in 9 (37%) only. Mean DFS/OS in patients with high preoperative Ki-67 was 32 months /32 months as compared to 37 months/35 months in those with normal Ki-67 (p<0.001). Correlation of preoperative CA15.3 and survival was statistically not significant. Conclusions:Preoperative Ki-67 can be a predictive and prognostic marker. Higher levels are associated with poor DFS and OS in patients with early BC.
