Proposed Pathway Linking Respiratory Infections with Depression
Zeinab Karimi,Maryam Chenari,Farhad Rezaie,Shima Karimi,Najmeh Parhizgari,Talat Mokhtari-Azad 대한정신약물학회 2022 CLINICAL PSYCHOPHARMACOLOGY AND NEUROSCIENCE Vol.20 No.2
Depression is one of the most important causes of disability and loss of useful life of people around the world. Acute respiratory infection caused a large number of severe illnesses and deaths of the world and most of these due to viral infections, which is estimated more than 80% of respiratory infections. Detection of viruses by immune pathogen recognition receptors activates the intracellular signaling cascade and eventually cause produces interferons. Inflammatory process begins with secretion of interferons and the expression of interferon-stimulated genes. One of the most important of these genes is indoleamine-pyrrole 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO), which plays a major role in tryptophan catabolism. IDO is an intracellular monomeric enzyme that is also responsible for breaking down and consuming tryptophan in the Kynurenine pathway. Increased inflammation has been linked to decrease tryptophan concentrations and increase kynurenine levels. We tried to explain the role of inflammation by viral respiratory infections in causing depression.
Secure Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) Communication Method Using New Random Key Management Scheme
Reza Khalilian,Abdalhossein Rezai,Farhad Mesrinejad 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Security and Its Applicat Vol.10 No.11
Wireless Body Area Networks (WBANs) have an important role in healthcare. So, the security of WBANs becomes a challenging issue. High performance encryption method and efficient key management scheme are required for securing WBAN communications. This study presents and evaluates an efficient key management scheme and efficient encryption method for improving WBAN security. We proposed a new random key management scheme. The proposed method utilized Advanced Encryption Standard (AES)-256 to encrypt the bio signals. Simulation results show that the proposed method has advantages compared to other secure WBAN communication methods.

Background: Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women. All ages are susceptible and more than 90% of the patients can be cured with early diagnosis. Breast self-examination (BSE) and mammography can be useful for this aim. In this study we examined the components of the Champion health belief model to identify if they could predict the intentions of women to perform such screening. Materials and Methods: A total of 380 women aged 30 and above who had referred to health-care centers were assessed for use of breast cancer screening over the past year with a modified health belief model questionnaire. Logistic regression was applied to identify leading independent predictors. Results: In this study 27% of the women performed BSE in the last year but only 6.8% of them used mammography as a way of screening. There were significant differences regarding all components of the model except for perceived severity between women that underwent BSE. over the past year and those that did not. Findings were similar for mammography. Regression analysis revealed that intentions to perform BSE were predicted by perceived self-efficacy and perceived barriers to BSE while intentions to perform mammography were predicted by perceived barriers. Conclusions: This study indicated that self-efficacy can support performance of BSE while perceived barriers are important for not performing both BSE and mammography. Thus we must educate women to increase their self-efficacy and decrease their perceived barriers.
Processing and properties of Ni dispersed zirconia toughened alumina
Mayssam Hussein Nabbouh,Rahim Naghizadeh,Farhad Golestani-Fard,Hamid Reza Rezaie 한양대학교 세라믹연구소 2017 Journal of Ceramic Processing Research Vol.18 No.9
The combination of phase transformation of zirconia and plastic deformation of Ni metal has shown a significant improvement in toughness caused by the synergistic toughening. In the present study, the reduction process within a carbon bed, the effectof Ni content on densification, microstructure and mechanical properties of ZTA/Ni composites was investigated. Powder mixtures of Al2O3, 3YSZ, and nickel nitrate as a source of Ni metal were prepared by precipitated Ni on ceramic powders to obtained ZTA/Ni composites. The composites were pressureless sintered at 1600 o C for 3 hrs within a carbon powder bed. The results showed that the addition of 5 vol.% Ni results in the highest relative density of 93% and the maximum fracture strength and toughness values of 348 MPa and 3.32 MPa.m½, respectively.
