      • Noise Analysis and Structure Optimization for Globe Valve

        Fabing Tan,Gang Yang,Cheng Wu,Baoren Li 유공압건설기계학회 2015 유공압건설기계학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2015 No.10

This paper aims at providing solutions to the problem of oversized pressure fluctuation noise caused by globe valves in pipeline systems. CFD method is employed to calculate the pressure fluctuation noise in the inlet and outlet of the globe valve (GV) in working condition. The numerical calculation results are verified by being compared with the experimental results obtained through testing trials on the pressure fluctuation noise of GV by establishing testing bed. On the basis of the above-mentioned numerical calculation results and experimental results, optimal design for the internal flow channel of the valves is carried out in order to reduce the pressure fluctuation noise caused by the GV. In the same load condition, the pressure fluctuation noise in the inlet and outlet of the optimized GV is attenuated by more than 20dB, compared with that of the original valves. This indicates that the optimal design provided by this paper significantly improves the noise performance of the GV. The research findings might offer certain guidance to the optimal design of flow channel of other kinds of valves in pipeline systems.

V-promoted Ni/Al2O3 catalyst for synthetic natural gas (SNG) production: Catalyst preparation methodologies

        Fabing Su,Qing Liu,Fangna Gu,Ziyi Zhong,Guangwen Xu 한국화학공학회 2016 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.33 No.5

The effect of preparation method on the catalytic performance of V-promoted Ni/Al2O3 catalysts for synthetic natural gas (SNG) production via CO methanation has been investigated. The Ni-V/Al2O3 catalysts were prepared by co-impregnation (CI) method, deposition precipitation (DP) method as well as two sequential impregnation (SI) methods with different impregnation sequence. Among the prepared catalysts, the one prepared by CI method exhibited the best catalytic performance due to its largest H2 uptake and highest metallic Ni dispersion. In a 91h-lifetime test, this catalyst showed high stability at high temperature and weight hourly space velocity. This work demonstrates that the catalytic performance of the V-promoted Ni/Al2O3 catalysts can be improved by carefully controlling the preparation method/conditions.

      • Noise Analysis and Structure Optimization for Sleeve Type Regulating Valve Based on CFD

        Cheng Wu,Gang Yang,Fabing Tan,Baoren Li 유공압건설기계학회 2015 유공압건설기계학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2015 No.10

According to the noise problems of sleeve type regulating valve, this paper utilizes the method of Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD) based on the RNG k-ε turbulence model to analyze flow field characteristics of sleeve type regulating valve, then the window shape and valve core angle is optimized. The analysis shows that the shape of sleeve window has a significant effect on the noise of regulating valve. In the same boundary conditions, the noise of the new valve is 13dB lower than the original valve, and the noise performance of the sleeve type regulating valve gets significant improvement. And its flow characteristic curve is obtained by simulation, which shows that the optimized sleeve flow regulating valve has good linear flow characteristic. The research in this paper can be used for reference for the design of sleeve type regulating valve with low noise and high performance.

Facile Synthesis of Ni–Mn Layered Double Hydroxide Nanopetals on 3D Reduced Graphene Oxide/Ni Foam for High-performance Supercapacitors

        Qi Tang,Menghan Ye,Li Ma,Tao Zhou,Mengyu Gan,Fabing Yan 성균관대학교(자연과학캠퍼스) 성균나노과학기술원 2020 NANO Vol.15 No.03

In this work, the Ni–Mn layered double hydroxide (Ni–Mn LDH) nanopetals are fabricated on three-dimensional reduced graphene oxide/Ni foam (RGO/NF) by one-step hydrothermal method, in which the suspension of graphene oxide (GO) is directly reduced by nickel foam (NF) to obtain NF/RGO. The composite, which consists of interconnected Ni–Mn LDH nanopetals, forms a macroporous structure. Such an open space can promote electrolyte dispersion and ion diffusion of active substances, thus enhancing capacitance performance. Remarkable, during crystal growth, RGO can not only provide active sites for Ni–Mn LDH nanopetals, but also effectively connect Ni–Mn LDH nanopetals to NF, further promoting the electrochemical behavior of composite material. Moreover, RGO possess reasonable chemical stability which can improve the mechanical properties of the composite to obtain good stability. The experimental results show that the NF/RGO electrode material with Ni–Mn LDH nanopetals has excellent specific capacitance of 2250 F g -1 at 1 A g -1, good rate performance (the capacitance retention rate is still 64.0% at 10 A g -1) and excellent cycle life (45.1% at 10 A g -1 after 5000 cycles). NR/NM–LDH is used as the positive electrode and activated carbon is used as the negative electrode to assemble the asymmetric supercapacitor, the proper power density and energy density indicates that the NR/NM–LDH composite has great potential as an electrode material for supercapacitors.

The Effect of Migration on Women and Children : the Case of Cebu

Amparo Pamela H. Fabe 숙명여자대학교 아세아여성문제연구소 2001 Asian Women Vol.12 No.-

The challenge of addressing equity issues lies in the fact that equity is a multi-dimensional concept. Equity not only covers equality of opportunity and equality of access, but also the distribution of consumption, wealth and human capital. Since equity is multidimensional, it cannot be measured by a single aggregate index. Hence, it is necessary to explore it in small, digestible parts. In the Philippine case, the measure of inequity can be traced to specific social indicators such migration. This study is a seminal work that delves into the plight of women and children of migrant families. It attempts to draw an over-all picture of the status of women and children in the social areas of work, education, health and sanitation. This study seeks to identify, determine, analyze and assess the interdependencies of key macroeconomic, health specific and labor-specific variables affecting labor migration to Cebu. It also probes the consequent effects of labor migration on the welfare of women and children. Specifically, the objectives of the study were as follows: (a) To analyze the pattern of labor migration from other provinces/municipalities; (b) To determine the effects of key macroeconomic variables to labor migration ;and (c) To quantify the ill-effects of labor migration on women and children. The study had three major activities: 1) data gathering of materials from secondary sources, 2) household survey and 3) focused group discussion for children and adult women. To show the ill-effects of migration, specific areas were tackled such as survival aspects, development perspectives and the long-term prospects. With the exception of the slight increase in family income, the findings show that the welfare of women and children did not improved after migration.
