D-라이보스로 부터 간편하게 불포화 탄수화물을 합성할 수 있는 방법이 고안되었다. D-라이보스로 부터 단 한단계 반응으로 쉽게 얻을 수 있는 두 개의 lactol(1,2)을 사용하여 Wittig반응을 실시한 결과 목적 화합물인 불포화 탄수화물이 높은 수율과 분리 가능한 이성질체 형태로 얻어졌다. 비교 연구를 위하여 2-deoxy lactol (15)을 Wittig 반응에 사용하여 상응하는 불포화 탄수화물을 얻었다. 각각의 lactol의 반응결과에 대한 cis-trans 입체 선택성도 언급하였다. A simple preparative method to prepare unsaturated sugar enonates from D-ribose has been achieved. Two lactols (1,2) which were available by a one-stepreaction from D-ribose were used for Wittig reaction togive desired unsaturated sugars in high yield and in a seperable manner. For a comparative study, 2-deoxy analogue lactol 15 was also investigated to give corresponding sugar enonates. The cis-trans stereoselectivity of olefination was also mentioned in each case of lactol.
Regioselective Benzylic Thioether Formation from Polybydroxy Stilbene

We have attempted to synthesize polyhydroxy stilbene compounds through the benzyl thioether moiety. During synthesis, we unexpectedly observed that demethylation of the compound under $AlCl_3$ in ethanethiol resulted in a regioselective addition of thiol to the double bond as well as complete demethylation. We report on the regioselective short synthesis for general structure and its structural identification.

Leukotriene D4 has been considered as potent chemical mediator of human bronchial asthma. Therefore several types of leukotriene D4 antagonists have been developed as anti-asthma reagent. Quinoline compounds has shown leukotriene D4 antagonism. Singular, first approved quinoline type leukotriene D4 antagonis, revealed good LTD4 receptor binding ability as well as oral administration. Fusion of indol moity (from Accolate) and quinoline gave birth to LY290324. Spacer between quinoline and acid function has been adoped by Kowa. Other characteristics and synthetic methods of quinoline type leukotriene D4 antagonis are discussed.
