전남 무안군 농촌지역에서의 나비개체군 변동에 관한 연구
현태현,최세웅 7개 국립대학교 환경연구 논문집 공동발행 위원회 2003 공업기술연구 Vol.3 No.-
To examine the dynamics of butterfly population in a rural area of Muan-gun, where is characterized by agricultural land mixed with low-hill mountains, we monitored butterflies from 2001 to 2003 based on a transect method. Forty-two butterfly species were recorded and the most dominant species during the surveyed years was pieris rapae. Total numbers of recorded butterflies were different ranging from 29(year 2003) to 39(year 2001). Monthly changes of indices of heterogeneity and evenness showed more or less straight graph, which was a different pattern from that of Mt. Yudal, Mokpo. Some butterfly species were inconsistently observed during the years: 3 species in 2002 were not listed in 2001's record, 12 species in 2001 were not listed in 2002's record.

A geometrid genus Pareulype Herbulot sensu Inoue (1977) is reviewed in Korea. Up to now, two species, P. taczanowskiaria (Oberthur) and P. onoi Inoue, were known from Korea and these two species were newly combined into another genus Pelurga Hubner. One Pareulype species, P. consanguinea (Butler), is first recognized from Korea throughout the present study. Diagnoses of each genus and species are provided with illustrations of adults and genitalia. Phylogenetic relationship of Pareulype and Pelurga Hubner is briefly discussed.
A New Record of Eupithecia praepupillata (Lepidoptera: Geometridae) from Korea
Sei-Woong Choi,Vladimir Mironov,Sung-Soo Kim 한국동물분류학회 2011 Animal Systematics, Evolution and Diversity Vol.27 No.1
In this paper, we report for the first time on a species of Eupithecia from Korea. Three females of Eupithecia praepupillata Wehrli, 1927, were collected from the northeastern part of South Korea. With this addition, a total of 53 species of Eupithecia from Korea have been recorded. Diagnosis and description of the species are provided with figures of the genitalia.
A New Record of Collix stellata (Lepidoptera: Geometridae) from Korea
Choi, Sei-Woong,Na, Sang-Hyun The Korean Society of Systematic Zoology 2011 Korean Journal of Systematic Zoology Special Issue Vol.27 No.2
We report a larentiine species, Collix stellata Warren, for the first time from Korea. Two males and one female were collected from Jeju-do Island, South Korea. Collix stellata is similar to Collix ghosa Walker in external appearances, but can be distinguished by the relatively larger discal dot on forewing and the relatively slender valva with distally projected margin of male genitalia. Diagnosis and description of the species are given with the figures of the genitalia.
New Record of Horithyatira kawamurae (Matsumura) (Lepidoptera, Thyatiridae) from Korea
Choi, Sei-Woong Korean Society of Applied Entomology 2001 INSECTA KOREANA Vol.18 No.4
Horithyatira kawamurae (Matusumura) (Thyatiridae, Lepidotpera) is reported for the first from Korea. Adults of H. kawamurae and its closely allied species, Thyatira batis (Linnaeus), are examined for comparison and redescription of H. kawamurae with the female genitalia is provided.

Monitoring of herbivore’s feeding activity in two localities of southern South Korea
Sei-Woong CHOI,Jeong-Seop AN,nang-Hee Kim,Dae-Ju Kim,Pyae Pyae Thein 한국응용곤충학회 2013 한국응용곤충학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2013 No.10
The purpose of the present study is to monitor diverse herbivore’s feeding activity in two localities, Mt. Jirisan National Park, a Korea LTER site and Mt. Seungdalsan, Muan, Jeonnam. We selected 11 tree species at two localities by differing elevations (> 200, 300, 600, 900, 1200m). We measured the herbivore’s feeding activity by an indirect method that calculates feeding area per leaf by diverse but unknown herbivores (ankertrass area) every two weeks from April to July. We found that the peak and duration differ along the elevation and locality: at a low elevation site (>300m), pattern of ankertrass area increased continuously from 16th Julian week to 21st week; at middle elevation site (600m), pattern of ankertrass area increased continuously from 20th Julian week to 23rd week; and at high elevation site (>600m), pattern of ankertrass area sharply increased from 22nd Julian week to 25th week. This showed that the timing of peak of herbivore activity exhibited a time-lag by elevations. We expected that the peak or duration of herbivore activity can be changed followed by environmental change and this can be monitored in a long term ecological monitoring.
A New Report of Odontosia sieversii (Lepidoptera: Notodontidae) from Korea
Sei-Woong Choi,Sung-Soo Kim 한국동물분류학회 2013 Animal Systematics, Evolution and Diversity Vol.29 No.4
In Korea, 104 species of Notodontidae have been recorded. The genus Odontosia Hubner is characterized by the elongate and serrate margin of its forewing and the prominent harpe of valva and many spinular cornuti on the vesica of the male genitalia and the robust ductus bursae and large, ovate and sclerotized corpus bursae of the female genitalia. Only one species of Odontosia, O. patricia Stichel, 1918, has been reported from Korea. In this paper, Odontosia sieversii (Menetries, 1856) is newly added to the Korean fauna based on three male specimens collected at Mt. Bangtaesan, Gangwon-do, Korea. Diagnosis for the species and photographs of adult and genitalia of the genus Odontosia are provided.
A Larentiine Species, Eschatarchia lineata (Lepidoptera: Geometridae) New to Korea
Choi, Sei-Woong The Korean Society of Systematic Zoology 2007 Korean Journal of Systematic Zoology Special Issue Vol.23 No.2
Eschatarchia lineata Warren, the sole member of the genus, is reported for the first time in Korea. Diagnosis of the genus and species is provided with brief descriptions of adults including male genitalia.
A New Record of Tamba igniflua (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) from Korea
Sei-Woong Choi,Jin Lee 한국동물분류학회 2011 Animal Systematics, Evolution and Diversity Vol.27 No.1
A noctuid species, Tamba igniflua (Wileman and South), was reported for the first time in Korea. One female of T. igniflua was successfully reared with leaves of Eurya japonica from a caterpillar collected in the southwestern part of the Korean Peninsula. Diagnostic characteristics of the species are provided with a brief description of caterpillar and adult, including genitalic structure.
