        분지각이 작고 일시 개화성이 우수한 숙근 안개초 ‘드림송’ 육성

        ‘Bristol Fairy’ 유래의 결실되는 아조변이체인 ‘Gyp99’의 실생계통으로 밝은 백색 겹꽃에 소화가 큰 ‘Gyp06-11’로부터 2008년 특성이 우수한 ‘Gyp08-2’ 계통을 선발하여 2009-2010년 2년 동안 특성평가 및 특성검정을 통해 ‘Dream Song’을 육성하였다. ‘Dream Song’의 초형은 직립형이고, 잎 모양은 피침형, 소화는 꽃잎수가 많고 암술이 2개인 백색겹꽃으로 꽃잎은 도란형, 꽃잎 끝 모양은 약간 둥근형, 꽃받침 모양은 컵형인 ‘Dream Song’ 고유의 특성을 가진다. 또한 소화의 일시개화성이 우수하고 절화수명이 매우 길며, 분지각이 작고 흰가루병에 강하고 총체벌레와 잎굴파리 등 충해에도 강해 재배적 가치가 높은 특성을 가진다. 준고냉지 여름절화 작형에서 ‘Dream Song’ 개화는 ‘Bristol Fairy’보다 17일 늦고 절간장과 화경장이 길었으며, 측지 분화가 많고 줄기가 굵었다. 또한 소화가 크고 야간 기온 22℃, 7일 이상의 고온조건에서도 기형화 발생이 없었다. ‘Dream Song’ is a cultivar of Gypsophila paniculata developed by the Jeollabuk-do Agricultural Research & Extension Services in 2010 for cut-flower production. This hybrid was bred from 121 seedlings collected from an open-pollinated population of ‘Gyp06-11’. It has novel morphological characteristics of upright plant type, lanceolate leaves, double florets with a few bright white-colored petals of obovate shape, truncate petal tips, and cup-shaped calyces. Furthermore ‘Dream Song’ has desirable cultivation characteristics including narrow branching angle, and moderate resistance to powdery mildew, thrips and leaf miners. Moreover it produces more primary branches, and longer internodes and flower stalks than reference cultivar ‘Bristol Fairy’ during summer cultivation in a subalpine area (500 m over the sea level). Flowering in ‘Dream Song’ is delayed by about 17 days as compared to ‘Bristol Fairy’. ‘Dream Song’ produces normal flowers with 2 pistils and an average of 10.4 stamens, with fewer malformed flowers than ‘Bristol Fairy’.

        접합부의 비선형 거동을 고려한 강뼈대 구조물의 고등해석과 최적설계

        The advanced analysis and optimal design of semi-rigid frame were presented. Advanced analysis can predict the combined nonlinear effects of connection, geometry, and material on the behavior and strength of semi-rigid frames. The Kishi-Chen power model was used to describe the nonlinear behavior of semi-rigid connections. Geometric nonlinearity was determined using stability functions. On the other hand, material nonlinearity was determined using the Column Research Council (CRC) tangent modulus and parabolic function. The direct search method proposed by Choi and Kim was used as optimization technique. The member with the largest unit value evaluated using the LRFD interaction equation was replaced one by one with an adjacent larger member selected from the database. The objective function was assumed as the weight of steel frame, with the constraint functions accounting for load-carrying capacities, deflections. inter-story drifts, and ductility requirement. Member sizes determined by the proposed method were compared with those derived using the conventional LRFD method. 본 논문에서는 접합부의 비선형을 고려한 강뼈대 구조물의 고등해석과 최적설계를 수행하였다. 고등해석은 접합부의 비선형, 기하학적 비선형 및 재료적 비선형을 고려한다. 접합부의 비선형은 Kishi와 Chen이 제안한 3가지 매개변수를 가지는 파워모델을 사용하여 고려하였다. 기하학적 비선형은 안정함수를 사용하여 고려하였으며, 재료적 비선형은 CRC 접선 탄성계수와 포물선 함수를 사용함으로서 고려하였다. 최적화 기법으로는 Choi와 Kim이 제안한 직접탐색법을 사용하였다. 직접탐색법은 LRFD의 상관방정식으로 계산된 값중에서 최대값을 가지는 부재의 크기를 단계별로 증가시키는 방법이다. 목적함수는 구조물의 중량을 사용하였으며, 제약조건식은 구조시스템의 하중-저항능력, 처짐, 층간 수평변위 및 연성요구 조건을 고려하였다. 제안된 방법에 의한 설계결과를 LRFD방법과 비교하였다.

        Crystallization of High Purity Ammonium Meta - Tungstate for Production of Ultrapure Tungsten Metal

        The growth mechanism of Ammonium Meta-Tungstate (AMT) crystal was interpreted as two-step model. Growth rates of AMT crystals were measured in a fluidized bed crystallizer. The effects of temperature, supersaturation and crystal size on the crystal growth were investigated. The contribution of the diffusion step increased with the increase of temperature, crystal size and supersaturation. The nucleation kinetics from measurements on the width of the metastable region of Ammonium Meta-Tungstate (AMT) was also evaluated. The crystal size distribution from a programmed cooling crystallization system was predicted by the numerical simulation of a mathematical model using the kinetics of nucleation and crystal growth. It was also observed that the shape of AMT crystals was changed during the growth period.

        Efficacy of the Arbekacin and Teicoplanin Combination on Glycopeptide Intermediate Staphylococcus aureus in a Rabbit Model of Endocarditis

        목적 : 동물 모델을 이용하여 GISA에 의한 심내막염에서 teicoplain과 arbekacin 병용 요법의 치료 효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 재료 및 방법 : 토끼 심내막염 모델을 이용하여 GISA 에 의한 심내막염에서 teicoplanin과 arbekacin 병용 요법의 효과를 단독 요법의 효과와 비교하였다. GISA 균주는 Mu50 균주를 사용하였고, 기존 문헌과 동일한 방법으로 토끼를 이용하여 동맥판 심내막염 모델을 사용하였다. 항생제 치료는 균을 주사한지 20시간 이후에 시작하였다. Teicoplanin은 40 mg/kg를 1회 근육 주사한 후에 20 mg/kg의 용량을 12시간 마다 4일간 투여하였다. Arbekadn은 5 mg/kg를 12시간 마다 4일간 근육 주사하였다. 마지막 항균제 투여 20시간 이후에 토끼 대동맥판의 증식(vegetation)을 채취하였다. 항균제를 투여하지 않은 대조군, teicoplanin 단독 치료군, arbekacin 단독 치료군, teicoplanin과 arbekacin 병용치료 군간의 증식의 무게(gram) 당 log_10)CFU의 차이를 비교하였다. 결과 : Teicoulanin과 arbekacin 병용 치료군에서 teicoplanin단독 치료군, 혹은 arbekacin 단독 치료군에 비해 증식의 무게(gram)당 log_10)CFU 값이 유의하게 낮았다(P<0.05). 결론 : 동물 모델에서 GISA에 의한 심내막염에 대한 teicoplanin과 arbekacin 병용 치료의 효과가 teicoplanin이나 arbekacin 단독 치료에 비해 우월하였다. Background : There have been no reports to evaluate the usefulness of combination therapy with glycopeptide and arbekacin in endocarditis by in vivo model. Materials and Methods : We investigated the efficacy of the arbekacin and teicoplanin combination on glycopeptide intermediate Staphylococcus aureus (GISA) in rabbit model of endocardits. GISA Mu50 strain was used for the experiment. The rabbit model of aortic valve endocarditis as described previously was used. Treatment was started 20h later inoculation with teicoplanin alone (at 20 mg/kg of body weight intramuscularly every 12 hours for 4 days after loading dose of 40 mg/kg of body weight intramuscularly), arbekacin alone (5 mg/kg of body weight intramuscularly every 12h for 4 days), or teicoplanin plus arbekacin. Results : The results of therapy for experimental endocarditis due to Mu50 showed that teicoplanin and arbekacin combination was more effective than the administration of both drugs alone in reducing the log_10)CFU/g of aortic vegetation (P<0.05). Conclusion : The combination of teicoplanin and arbekacin was more effective against GISA (Mu50) than both drugs alone in vivo endocarditis model.

        최근 국내 반도체 DRAM 및 NAND flash 메모리 제조 기술 고도화로 인하여 wafer 상단에 수 나노 스케일 수준의 박막증착 및 패턴 제작이 이루어지고 있으며, 이에 공정라인에서 제작되는 시편을 검사/계측하기 위한 기술에 대한 필요성이 요구되는 추세이다. 반도체 생산 제조 공정라인의 검사/계측 기술로 활용되는 ellipsometry 기술은 산란을 이용한 비파괴성 광학적 측정 기술로, 시편에 의해 변화된 편광정보(Ψ, △)를 획득하고, 이를 분석하여 제작 시편의 물성 및 박막 두께, 나노 패턴의 3D 형상을 계측하는 기술이다. 현 반도체 산업계에서 제작되는 wafer의 균일도는 기업의 수율과 관계하므로 측정속도에 대한 솔루션의 필요성이 크게 증대되고 있는 상황이며, 이에 기존 ellipsometry 기술이 지닌 기계적 메커니즘 및 전기 변조 장치 등의 구동부로 인한 초 단위 이상의 측정속도 제한 문제를 극복하기 위하여 본 연구팀은 2016년 마하젠더 scheme의 분광편광타원계측 기술을 제안한바 있다. 이는 간섭편광변조모듈로부터 발생된 분광편광간섭신호를 시스템 알고리즘을 통해 분광편광위상정보(△)를 20Hz 이상 고속으로 획득 가능하다. 본 연구팀은 최근 간섭편광변조모듈을 일체형 마이켈슨 간섭계로 구성함에 따라, 측정 반복능을 ±1˚ 수준의 외란에 강인성을 지닌 시스템으로 성능을 크게 개선하였다. 아래 figure(a)의 Blue, Red line은 각각 reference(bare wafer), SiO2 30nm를 제안된 시스템으로 획득된 간섭spectrum이고, figure(b)의 Blue, red line은 각각 간섭계 기반 분광편광타원계와 상용 ellipsometer를 이용하여 측정된 분광편광위상정보(△)이다. SiO2 30nm 측정결과를 통해 간섭계 기반 분광편광타원계는 측정 반복능 뿐만 아니라, 측정에 사용된 전체파장에 대해서 상용장비 수준의 높은 정확도가 확보됨을 검증하였다. [그림 본문 참조]

        Immunogenicity and safety of a 13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine and an MF59-adjuvanted influenza vaccine after concomitant vaccination in ⩾60-year-old adults

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P><B>Background</B></P> <P>Concomitant administration of influenza and pneumococcal vaccines could be an efficient strategy to increase vaccine uptake among older adults. Nevertheless, immune interference and safety issues have been a concern when more than one vaccines are administered at the same time.</P> <P><B>Methods</B></P> <P>Subjects aged ⩾60years were randomized in a 1:1:1 ratio to receive MF59-adjuvanted trivalent inactivated influenza vaccine (MF59-aTIV)+13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV13) (Group 1), PCV13 alone (Group 2), or MF59-aTIV alone (Group 3). Hemagglutination inhibition (HI) and opsonophagocytic activity (OPA) assays were used to compare immunogenicity after single or concomitant vaccination.</P> <P><B>Results</B></P> <P>A total of 1149 subjects (Group 1, N=373; Group 2, N=394; Group 3, N=382) were available for the assessment of immunogenicity and safety. All groups met immunogenicity criteria for the influenza vaccine in older adults with similar seroprotection rates, seroconversion rates, and geometric mean titer (GMT) fold-increases, irrespective of concomitant vaccination. For each pneumococcal serotype, OPA titers increased markedly after the PCV13 vaccination, irrespective of the concomitant influenza vaccination. After concomitant administration, the non-inferiority criteria of GMT ratios were met for all three influenza subtypes and 13 pneumococcal serotypes.         <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Pectin methylesterases (PMEs) catalyze pectin demethylation and facilitate the determination of the degree of methyl esterification of cell wall in higher plants. The regulation of PME activity through endogenous proteinaceous PME inhibitors (PMEIs) alters the status of pectin methylation and influences plant growth and development. In this study, we performed a PMEI screening assay using a chemical library and identified a strong inhibitor, phenylephrine (PE). PE, a small molecule, competitively inhibited plant PMEs, including orange PME and <I>Arabidopsis</I> PME. Physiologically, cultivation of <I>Brassica campestris</I> seedlings in the presence of PE showed root growth inhibition. Microscopic observation revealed that PE inhibits elongation and development of root hairs. Molecular studies demonstrated that <U>R</U>oot <U>H</U>air <U>S</U>pecific 12 (RHS12) encoding a PME, which plays a role in root hair development, was inhibited by PE with a Ki value of 44.1 μM. The biochemical mechanism of PE-mediated PME inhibition as well as a molecular docking model between PE and RHS12 revealed that PE interacts within the catalytic cleft of RHS12 and interferes with PME catalytic activity. Taken together, these findings suggest that PE is a novel and non-proteinaceous PME inhibitor.       • Charge-Transfer-Modulated Transparent Supercapacitor Using Multidentate Molecular Linker and Conductive Transparent Nanoparticle Assembly

        <P>One of the most critical issues in preparing high-performance transparent supercapacitors (TSCs) is to overcome the trade-off between areal capacitance and optical transmittance as well as that between areal capacitance and rate capability. Herein, we introduce a TSC with high areal capacitance, fast rate capability, and good optical transparency by minimizing the charge transfer resistance between pseudocapacitive nanoparticles (NPs) using molecular linker- and conductive NP-mediated layer-by-layer (LbL) assembly. For this study, bulky ligand-stabilized manganese oxide (MnO) and indium tin oxide (ITO) NP multilayers are LbL-assembled through a ligand exchange reaction between native ligands and small multidentate linkers (tricarballylic acid). The introduced molecular linker substantially decreases the separation distance between neighboring NPs, thereby reducing the contact resistance of electrodes. Moreover, the periodic insertion of ITO NPs into the MnO NP-based electrodes can lower the charge transfer resistance without a meaningful loss of transmittance, which can significantly improve the areal capacitance. The areal capacitances of the ITO NP-free electrode and the ITO NP-incorporated electrode are 24.6 mF cm<SUP>-2</SUP> (at 61.6% transmittance) and 40.5 mF cm<SUP>-2</SUP> (at 60.8%), respectively, which outperforms state of the art TSCs. Furthermore, we demonstrate a flexible symmetric solid-state TSC that exhibits scalable areal capacitance and optical transmittance.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>
