      • A Study on Characteristics of Wet Oxide Gate and Nitride Oxide Gate for fabrication of NMOSFET

        이 논문에서는 HP 4145 소자 테스터를 사용하여 핫 케리어 효과와 트래핑차지, SILC의 특성을 비교하기 위하여 질화 산화막 게이트와 습식게이트 산화막을 가지고 0.26㎛ NMOSFET를 테스트하고 생성시켰다. 그 결과로 습식게이트 산화막소자보다 질화 산화막 게이트의 특성이 더 좋다는 것을 알게 되었고 특히 핫 케리어 라이트 타임이 (질화 산화막 게이트 소자는 30년이나 습식 게이트 산화막은 10년) 길고 Vg의 변화 및 항복전압이나 트래핑의 충전 등이 좋음을 알 수 있었다. In this paper we fabricated and tested the 0.26㎛ NMOSFET with wet gate oxide and nitride oxide gate to compare that the characteristics of hot carrier effect, charge to breakdown, transistor Id_Vg curve, charge trapping, and SILC(Stress Induced Leakage Current) using the HP4145 device tester. As a result we find that the characteristics of nitride oxide gate device better than wet gate oxide device, especially hot carrier lifetime (nitride oxide gate device satisfied 30years, but the lifetime of wet gate oxide was only 0.1year), variation of Vg, charge to breakdown and charge trapping etc.

        백서 뇌의 정상 노화와 병적 노화 과정의 조직학적 차이 및 약물효과

        Objectives : Besides of malnutrition and neurotoxic effect of alcohol on the prefrontal cortex or subcortical structures, premature aging may be involved in alcohol-induced cognitive disorders. The aims of this study were to evaluate the effect of alcohol on short-term memory function and histology, and to identify the drug responses and an association with aging process to understand a biological mechanism underlying alcoholic dementia. Methods: In experiment 1, T-maze tests were done in 5 aged controls and 5 atropine-treated rats. In experiment 2, T-maze tests were repeated on every week for a month in 5 normal adult and 5 ethanol-treated rats. In experiment 3, T-maze tests were repeated on every week for a month in seven groups of 5 ethanol-treated rats injected with normal saline, fluoxetine, bromocriptine, bethacholine, nimodipine, clonidine and ketamine. After completion of behavioral tests rats were sacrificed by the intracardiac perfusion with phosphate buffered 10% formaldehyde solution, and the brain specimen was stained with hematoxylin-eosin to count cells in prefrontal cortex and hippocampus. Results: 1) Cell numbers of hippocampus(CA1, CA3 and dentate gyrus) and prefrontal cortex were reduced in ethanol-treated rats(P<0.05) without significant changes on T-maze tests. 2)Cell numbers of hippocampus(CA1, CA3 and dentate gyrus) and prefrontal cortex were recovered by bethacholine(P<0.05), while those of hippocampus raised by bromocriptine and clonidine(P<0.05 respectively). There were no significant changes on T-maze tests. 3) Cell numbers of prefrontal cortex in ethanol-treated rats were correlated with those of atropine-treated(r=0.977,P<0.001), and of normal aged(r=0.448, P<0.05) rats. Conclusions : Alcohol-induced memory disorder might be mainly related with cholinergic system as well as adrenergic or dopaminergic ones. Pathological aging process could be involved in a mechanism underlying alcoholic dementia.

      • Γ-Cyclodextrin Glycosyltransferase 생산균주의 분리, 동정 및 효소 생산조건

        Cyclodextrin glycosyltransferase 생산균주를 토양으로부터 분리하여 형태학적, 생화학적 그리고 균주의 세포벽 지방산 조성분석에 의해 Bacillus brevis로 동정하였고, Bacillus brevis CD162로 명명하였다. 또한 배지조성에 따른 cyclodextrin glycosyltransferase의 최적생산조건을 검토한 결과, 2.0% soluble starch, 0.75% yeast extract, 0.5% bacto peptone, 0.2% KHPO₄, 0.05% MgSO₄·7H₂O, 1.5% Na₂CO₃ (pH 10.2)의 배지 조건에서 30℃에서 96시간 배양하였을 때 가장 높은 효소생산인 0.9 unit/ml을 얻을 수 있었다.(1997년 7월 10일 접수, 1997년 11월 21일 수리) A cyclodextrin glycosyltransferase-producing bacterium was newly isolated from soil using alkaline pH medium containg 1% Na₂CO₃, The isolated strain was identified as Bacillus brevis by morphological and biochemical characteristics, and designated Bacillus brevis CD162. The strain showed the best enzyme production of 0.9 unit/ml after 96 hrs of culture at 30℃ in a medium of 2.0% soluble starch, 0.75% yeast extract, 0.5% bacto peptone, 0.2% K₂HPO₄, 0.005% MgSO₄·7H₂O and 1.5% Na₂Co₃at initial pH 10.2

      • Bacillus brevis CD162 Cyclodextrin Glycosyltransferase의 정제 및 특성

        Bacillus brevis CD162가 생산하는 cyclodextrin glycosyltransferase (CGTase)를 ammonium sulfate 침전, DEAE-Sephadex CL-6B 및 Sephadex G-150 컬럼 크로마토그래피를 수행하여 분리정제하였다. 정제된 CGTase는 분자량이 약74.000, 등전점은 약 6.3인 단백질이었고, 정제된 단백질을 SDS-PAGE한 후 변성된 단백질을 재활성시켜 zymogram을 수행한 결과 cyclodextrin glycosyltransferase임을 확인할 수 있었다. 이 효소의 최적활성 pH와 온도는 각각 8.0과 55℃이었으며, pH 5.5~9.0과 50℃까지 안정한 활성을 보였다. 또한, CGTase의 NH₂-말단 부위의 아미노산서열은 Ser-Val-Thr-Asn-Tyr-Ser-Lys-Asp-Val-Ile-Tyr-Gln 이었으며, 전분으로부터 cyclodextrin으로의 전환률을 분석한 결과, α-cyclodextrin은 1.3%, β-cyclodextrin은 33.9%, γ-cyclodextrin은 9.7% 이었다(1997년 7월 10일 접수, 1997년 9월 25일 수리) The cyclodextrin glycosyltrasferase (CGTase, EC 3.2.1.19) from Bacillus brevis CD162 was purified by precipitating with ammonium sulfate, DEAE-Sepharose CL-6B column chromatography and Sephadex G-150 column chromatography. The molecular mass and pI of the purified enzyme were estimated to be 74,000 and 6.3 by SDS-PAGe and isoelectric focusing, respectively. The purified enzyme was clearly identified as the CGTase by zymogram after SDS-PAGE. The optimum pH and temperature for the enzyme activity were 8.0 and 55℃, respectively. The enzyme was stable at the range of pH 5.5~9.0, and up to 50℃. The amino acid sequence from the NH₂-terminal of the purified CGTase was Ser-Val-Thr-Asn-Lys-Val-Asn-Tyr-Ser-Lys-Asp-Val-Ile-Tyr-Gln. The yields of the products from starch as the substrate were 1.3% for α-,33.9% for β-, and 9.7% for γ-cyclodextrin.

      • 췌십이지장절제술 후 결과에 영향을 미치는 인자

        `Background : Pancreatoduodenectomy is a widely used technique in the treatment of periampullary, duodenal and cephalic pancreatic disease. Although many improvements have been made in operative technique and posmiddleerative care, pancreatoduodenectomy remains a technically difficult procedure attended by relatively high morbidity and mortality rates. Materials and methods : The hospital records of 51 patients who underwent pancreatoduodenectomy at the Chosun University Hospital between 1994 and 2001 were reviewed. Clinical data and the following morbidity and mortality were recorded The risk factors were analyzed by a Chi-square test. Results : Fifth decade was the most prevalent ages (43.1%) The mean age was 59 years (ranging from 29 to 78) and the male to female ratio was 26 to 1. The periampullary cancer was the most reason to operation (86%) and injury due to trauma, adenocarcinoma of stomach, colon cancer, chronic pancreatitis in order Posmiddleerative complications were developed in seventeen patients and anastomotic leakage was the most common complication Death within a month after operation was 3 (5.8%) and the one of the cause of death was leakage in two patients, the other cause was intraadbominal bleeding in one patients. The cardiovascular disease, pulomnary problem, diabetes, level of bilirubin were checked preoperatively and showed no statistical difference in the posmiddleerative morbidity. The other factors such as amount of bleeding, operation time were not influencing posmiddleerative complications. The occurrence of leakage in eight cases of drainage tuve inserted into the pancreaticojejunostomy site was not different from no tuve insertion statistically Conclusion: old age of the patients, diabetes mellitus and massive intraoperative hemorrhage are the risk factors influencing the results after pancreatoduodenectomy. Morbidity and mortality after pancreatoduodenctomy can be devreased if a prudent selection of paients is made and the operation is performed by accomplushed surgeon.

      • 흰쥐에서 Paraquat 독성에 미치는 Selenium의 영향

        In order to investigate effects of selenium on paraquat-induced toxicities. we measured the enzymes involved in the glutathione metabolism, which Includes glutathione s-transferase, r-glutamylcysteine syntheatse and r-glutamyltranspeptidase, and the contents of glutathione in the paraquat-treated and paraquat plus seleniun-treated groups, respectively. 1. The survival rate was great)y diminished in paraquat plus selenium-treated group compared with paraquat-treated group. 2. The content of 81utathione in paraquat plus selenium-treated group was also reduced to 17.5% and 31.7% in liver and kidney, respectively as compared to the corresponding control values. 3 The activity of r-glutamylcysteine synthetase in paraquat-plus selenium group was significantly increased in liver but not affected in the kidney. 4. The activities of glutathione s-transferase in liver and kidney were not affected in both groups. 5. The activity of r-glutamyl transpeptidase in kidney in was increased to 54% in the paraquat plus selenium groups as compared to that of the control group. These results taken together suggest that the coadministration of selenium and paraqua enhances paraquat-induced toxicities, which appear to be associated with the decreased level of glutathione in liver and kidney.

      • 위암 환자에서 절제된 림프절 수의 차이와 관련이 있는 인자

        Purpose: By the definition of UICC TNM classification (fifth edition), the nodal stage of gastric cancer is based on the number of metastatic lymph nodes, which is influenced by the number of resected lymph nodes. And individual differences in the number of resected lymph nodes had been observed in patients with gastric cancer. The aim of this study is to verify the factors which are associated with the difference in the number of resected lymph nodes in patients with gastric cancer. Methods: We reviewed 613 patients with gastric cancer who underwent curative resection and D2 lymph node dissection with 15 or more resected lymph nodes. The number of resected lymph nodes was analyzed according to the characteristics of patients, the types of operation and prognostic factors of gastric cancer. Results: The mean number of resected lymph nodes per patient was 33.0 (median: 31.0, range: 15-88). The number of resected lymph nodes was significantly associated with the types of operation, the location and size of tumor, macroscopic types, depth of tumor invasion and the number of metastatic lymph nodes. Patient's age, gender and the histopathological finding's had no relationship with the number of resected lymph nodes. Conclusions: The number of resected lymph nodes from gastric cancer was different in each patient despite of same D2 lymph node dissection and it was associated with several prognostic factors of gastric cancer.
