The purpose of this study is to improve the body pulse which can cause severe occupant injury with optimum design of the cradle which could affect frontal crash performance. In order to save the calculation time on the deformation behavior of cradle, a simplified cradle model are developed based on the full car frontal crash model. Bead shape and position are considered as design parameters to get efficient cradle structure on absorbing crash energy. The results from the simplified model are examined by appling themselves to the full car model, and the crash performance on the vehicle body acceleration and passenger room intrusion is evaluated quantitatively.
