        Secure Message Transmission against Remote Control System

        A remote control system (RCS) can monitor a user's confidential information by using the broadcast receivers in Android OS. However, the current RCS detection methods are based only on a virus vaccine. Therefore, if the user's smartphone is infected by a brand new RCS, these methods cannot detect this new RCS immediately. In this paper, we present a secure message transmission medium. This medium is completely isolated from networks and can communicate securely through a QR code channel by using symmetric key cryptography such as the AES block cipher and public key cryptography such as elliptic curve cryptography for providing security. Therefore, the RCS cannot detect any confidential information. This approach is completely immune to any RCS attacks. Furthermore, we present a secure QR code-based key exchange protocol by using the elliptic curve Diffie-Hellman method and message transmission protocols; the proposed protocol has high usability and is very secure.

        소년범죄자에 대한 경찰단계 다이버전 효율화방안

        다이버전이란 특정한 사건을 공식적 사회통제 체계로부터 전환시키거나 우회시켜 절차적으로 비죄화 시키는 것으로 법원의 판결이 내려지기 전에 형사사법기관이 통상의 사법처리절차를 중지하는 조치를 의미한다. 우리나라의 경찰은 형사사건의 대부분을 처리하면서도 여러 가지의 제도적인 미비점과 부족한 여건 때문에 초기단계에서 다이버전을 접목시키려는 시도를 쉽게 찾아볼 수 없다. 이는 우리나라의 형사절차의 시스템에 범인의 체포 · 기소 · 판결 · 수용이라는 전통적인 소송절차가 지배하고 있어 제도적인 뒷받침이 마련되어 있지 않기 때문이다. 그리고 아울러 경찰관들의 다이버전에 올바른 인식의 확대와 변화가 뒤따라주지 않기 때문이기도 하다. 우리나라에서는 2007년 12월 소년의 선도보호를 위해 제4차 소년법을 개정하였으나 모든 소년범을 검찰에 전건 송치하도록 규정하고 있다. 그러나 순간적인 충동과 호기심으로 사소한 일탈행동을 저지르기도 하는 모든 소년들을 획일적으로 처벌하도록 하는 소년사법체제로 소년사건의 사법처리를 담당하고 있는 국가기관인 경찰, 검사, 법원 등이 건전한 소년육성이라는 소년법의 기본적 이념에 부합하는 공정한 사법처리를 하고 있는지 의문이다. 경찰단계에서 경미초범 구분 없이 모든 소년범들이 차등 없이 입건되어 전건을 검찰로 송치 후 기소되는 소년보다 불기소되는 소년이 훨씬 많은 실정이다. 한창 사춘기 성장과정에 있는 소년의 과실로 인하여 전과기록이 남는 회피해갈 수 없는 상황이 전개된다. 이러한 이유로 즉결심판절차법, 경찰관직무집행법, 소년경찰집무규칙, 범죄수사규칙 등에 의하여 현실적으로 행하여지고 있는 경찰의 다이버전을 통일되게 소년법을 개정하고 규정하는 것이 바람직하다고 생각한다. 더불어 경찰관의 자의적인 재량권행사를 통제하여 공정한 법집행을 하도록 법적기준도 마련하고 전문가참여방안, 선도프로그램 등 경찰다이버전의 효율화를 이어나가도록 구체적인 검토와 그 방향을 제시하였다. The principle of juvenile protection is emphasized in the juvenile judicial system because they are mentally immature. But, some people estimate the traditional juvenile judicial system reached the limits on the ground of the growing recommitted rate of juvenile offenders. So, some peoples advocate also the balanced and restorative justice in juvenile judicial procedure. The police diversion is the most efficient measure to help families, local communities prevent juvenile offenders with the least amount of resources available. Police diversion for juvenile offenders should be legislated in Act on the perfomance of duties by police officers. That needs in korean diversion program system. Considering that the police officer has first contact with the majority of juvenile offenders. it is crucial to intervene with juvenile at the police stage. To actvate these restorative interventions. the granting of police authority is needed to determine the outcome of minor offences, and to also develop programs appropriate for rehabilitating juvenile offenders. The police can withhold any criminal charges, provided the young suspect successfully completes the designated program or the conditions that the prosecutor specifies. But the benefited were so small and the expert manpower and the system to support it were not enough to realize the goal of diversion. polie agency has introduced a few diversion into juvenile justice system such as professional involvement system, conditional booking system and family group conferencing in the phase of police response against young offenders.

        The vehicle has a number of ECUs, each ECU has a CAN, and various actuators for vehicle control are controlled by voltage and current. This paper introduces the system of automated test for developing drivability, that the status of vehicle can be obtained using CAN and the vehicle can be controlled directly by using analog output equipment automatically. This system helps save time and cost for developing drivability. In addition, it has also benefits of high reliability and repeatability of test result, which were proved by demonstration test.

        Discovery of 1-(3-(benzyloxy)pyridin-2-yl)-3-(2-(piperazin-1-yl)ethyl)urea: A new modulator for amyloid beta-induced mitochondrial dysfunction

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Herein, we report a new series of aliphatic substituted pyridyl-urea small molecules synthesized as potential modulators for amyloid beta (Aβ) induced mitochondrial dysfunction. Their blocking activities against Aβ-induced mitochondrial permeability transition pore (mPTP) opening were evaluated by JC-1 assay which measures the change of mitochondrial membrane potential (ΔΨm). The inhibitory activity of sixteen compounds against Aβ-induced mPTP opening was superior or almost similar to that of the standard Cyclosporin A (CsA). Among them, 1-(3-(benzyloxy)pyridin-2-yl)-3-(2-(piperazin-1-yl)ethyl)urea (<B>5x</B>) effectively maintained mitochondrial function and cell viabilities on ATP assay, MTT assay, and ROS assay. Using CDocker algorithm, a molecular docking model presented a plausible binding mode for <B>5x</B> with cyclophilin D (CypD) receptor as a major component of mPTP. Moreover, hERG and BBB-PAMPA assays presented safe cardiotoxicity and high CNS bioavailability profiles for <B>5x</B>.       • Low-Complexity Parallel QPP Interleaver Based on Permutation Patterns

        <P>In this brief, we present how parallel-interleaved addresses generated by a quadratic permutation polynomial (QPP) interleaver are related to each other and propose a low-complexity parallel QPP interleaver based on the relationship. While a conventional parallel turbo decoder employs a number of interleavers as many as the parallel factor, the proposed method, which benefits from the arithmetic relationship denoted as the permutation pattern (PP), supports the parallel interleaving using only a single interleaver, resulting in a notable reduction of complexity. The strength of the proposed method stems from the fact that the PP is fully determined by only the decoding parameters, such as block size, parallel factor, and QPP coefficients. Experiment results on the Long Term Evolution turbo codes show that the proposed interleaver can significantly reduce the hardware complexity compared with conventional implementations.</P>

        Severe Rhabdomyolysis in Phacomatosis Pigmentovascularis Type IIb associated with Sturge-Weber Syndrome

        Phacomatosis pigmentovascularis (PPV) is a rare syndrome characterized by concurrent nevus flammeus (capillary malformation) and pigmentary nevus. According to current research, the major pathophysiologic mechanism in PPV is venous dysplasia with resultant compensatory collateral channels and venous hypertension. Arterial involvement is rare. We herein report our experience on renovascular hypertension, intermittent claudication, and severe rhabdomyolysis due to diffuse stenosis of multiple arteries in a patient with PPV type IIb associated with SWS.

        Pediatric triage modifications based on vital signs: a nationwide study

        Objective To analyze the clinical significance of a heart rate (HR) or respiratory rate (RR) higher or lower than the normal in pediatric triage. Methods A retrospective observational study was conducted with data from the Korean National Emergency Department Information System. The subjects were children <15 years of age in 2016. Reported HRs and RRs were divided into seven groups: grade -3 (3 or more standard deviations [SDs]<normal), grade -2 (2 SDs<normal), grade -1 (1 SD<normal), grade 0 (normal), grade 1 (1 SD>normal), grade 2 (2 SDs>normal), and grade 3 (3 or more SDs>normal). The main outcomes were hospitalization and intensive care unit (ICU) admission rates. Logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the relationship of the outcomes according to grade in each group. Results Data for 981,297 patients were analyzed. Hospitalization and ICU admission rates increased significantly in the higher HR group (grades 1 to 3; odds ratio [OR], 1.353; P<0.001; OR, 1.747; P<0.001; respectively) and in the higher RR group (OR, 1.144; P<0.001; OR, 1.396; P<0.001; respectively), compared with grade 0 group. In the lower HR group (grades -1 to -3), the hospitalization rate decreased (OR, 0.928; P<0.001), whereas the ICU admission rate increased (OR, 1.207; P=0.001). Although the hospitalization rate increased. In the lower RR group (OR, 1.016; P=0.008), the ICU admission rate did not increase (OR, 0.973; P=0.338). Conclusion Deviations in HR and RR above normal are related to increased risks of hospitalization and ICU admission. However, this association may not apply to deviations below normal.

        Bioactive Lipids and Their Derivatives in Biomedical Applications

        Lipids, which along with carbohydrates and proteins are among the most important nutrients for the living organism, have a variety of biological functions that can be applied widely in biomedicine. A fatty acid, the most fundamental biological lipid, may be classified by length of its aliphatic chain, and the short-, medium-, and long-chain fatty acids and each have distinct biological activities with therapeutic relevance. For example, short-chain fatty acids have immune regulatory activities and could be useful against autoimmune disease; medium-chain fatty acids generate ketogenic metabolites and may be used to control seizure; and some metabolites oxidized from long-chain fatty acids could be used to treat metabolic disorders. Glycerolipids play important roles in pathological environments, such as those of cancers or metabolic disorders, and thus are regarded as a potential therapeutic target. Phospholipids represent the main building unit of the plasma membrane of cells, and play key roles in cellular signaling. Due to their physical properties, glycerophospholipids are frequently used as pharmaceutical ingredients, in addition to being potential novel drug targets for treating disease. Sphingolipids, which comprise another component of the plasma membrane, have their own distinct biological functions and have been investigated in nanotechnological applications such as drug delivery systems. Saccharolipids, which are derived from bacteria, have endotoxin effects that stimulate the immune system. Chemically modified saccharolipids might be useful for cancer immunotherapy or as vaccine adjuvants. This review will address the important biological function of several key lipids and offer critical insights into their potential therapeutic applications.
