The accuracy of gas flow measurements by using small sonic nozzles and flow characteristics of small nozzles are investigated in the gas flow standard measurement system. The experiments are performed at various nozzle throat diameter and inlet pressures. The overall uncertainty of discharge coefficients is estimated to less than ±0.2 percent at a confidence level of 95 percent. The discharge coefficients(Cd) as a function of throat Reynolds number are in agreement with the recommended equation of ISO 9300 document. The boundary layer affects the discharge coefficients, as the nozzle throat diameter is small. A correlating equation for discharge coefficients is derived.
주택에서 내장재로 쓰이는 섬유의 보온효과와 소비자 의식에 관한 연구 : 카페트를 중심으로 Focus on Carpets

Abstract The intent of this study was to focus attention on carpet fabrics and consumer perceptions towards carpets. This study consisted of the laboratory test for thermal transmittance of selected carpets and prods, and the survey for consumer perceptions for carpets. The objectives of the survey were, 1) to determine sociodemographic factors; the stage of family life cycle, husband's and homemaker's level of education and income, and 2) to identify consumer perceptions for carpets. Questionnaires were administered to the randomly selected homemakers in Seoul, in October, 1984. Data from 353 responses were analyzed. The objectives of the laboratory test were, 1) to measure thermal transmittance of the selected carpets and pads, and 2) to find out the effect of heat controlling on carpeting. Selected 6 samples were tested at Korean Yarn Fabric Testing Inspection Institute. The major findings are as follows: 1. The results of the survey Responses strongly appreciated carpets for their heat and noise control, resiliency, warmth, and beauty. A negative but weak perception for carpets was suitability for a Korean life style. Their lack of knowledge about carpeting wish pads for the better heat controlling was indicated. 2. The results of the laboratory test 1) Carpeting dropped the thermal transmittance from the floor heat. That was carpets had an excellent heat controlling. 2) It did not show differences among pile yarns, types of piles, and types of pads in heat controlling. 3) Carpeting with pads showed more effective in heat controlling than carpeting without pads.

The purpose of this study was to determine family life space and time use effects on family interaction. A questionnaire was developed through two retests and a field survey. Eighty-seven percent of the respondents living in apartments responded that family members gathered in the living room, but eighty percent of those living in 'han-ok (Korean style houses)' responded that family members gathered in 'an-bang(family room and master bedroom)'. Families living in apartments interacted more frequently on weekends than those living in 'han-ok', especially in household work, eating-out, family recreation, religious activities, shopping, outdoor activities, cultural events, sports, and visiting friends and relatives. Family lifespace was found to have no relation with the amount of total family interaction time and family intimacy. The amount of total family interaction time was correlated with family intimacy.

The accuracy of gas flow measurements by using small sonic nozzles and the flow characteristics of small sonic nozzles are investigated in the gas flow standard measurement system. The experiments are performed at various nozzle throat diameter and inlet pressure. The boundary layer and the Reynolds number affect the critical pressure ratio (Pb/Po) as the nozzle throat diameter is small.

The purpose of this study was to investigate homemakers' state of burnout by the household work and to determine factors influencing homemakers' state of burnout. The sample consisted of 529 homemakers living in Seoul. Data were analyzed with SPSS using frequency, percentage, mean, analysis of variance, Duncan's multiple range test, simple regression analysis, and analysis of covariance. The results were as follows; 1. The homemakers especially who were below 35 years old, who had four or less family members, who had high educational career, who had more monthly income, who lived in an apartment house, whose house had central heating system, and who had helpers with their household work had less valued on the household work. 2. The homemakers especially who had high educational career, whose house had central heating system, and who had helpers with their household work were found to become more severely burnout. 3. The homemakers' value on the household work was able to explain 23% of their state of burnout by it. 4. The greatest influence on the homemakers' state of burnout was the homemakers' value on the household work in the analysis of covariance. It, therefore, was shown that the less they held value on the household work, the more severely they became burnout by it.
A STUDY OF THE DESIGN PRINCIPLES IN TABLE SETTINGS USING PLACEMATS
Yoon, Bok Cha 연세대학교 생활과학대학 1972 婦學 Vol.5 No.-
Meal times have become a sociai function increasing the importance of the table setting. The theme, oood and atmosphere created by the total table appearance and individulplace-setting deserve more than last minute attention. The use of the placemat has increased because of its easy adaptation to a variety of occasions and styles. The general objectives of this project and paper were to relate table settings with house planning and furnishing and design properties and to describe table settings centered around three types of placemats. When considering the house planning and furnishing goals of use, beauty, economy and individuality the table steeting must be considered in relation to table, room and hom. The manner of accumulation and selection of tableware should reflect family perso-nality, preference, stvles of living, and economy. The principles of balance, harmony, rhy-thm, proportion, emphasis, scale should be considered in the over-all table setting design. When selecting the material for this project, placemats to represent three different occasions and moos were desired. The plastic, the natural fiber, and the wove fabric were selected after considering qualities of appearance, thickness, durability, maintena-nce, sost and availabilty. Other steps in the melhod of study were material preparat-ion, size and shape determination, finishing the edges, deciding on ornamentation, and determining the tableware that woulld be most appropriate with each setting in hypot-hetical situations employing design principles. From these mats and this report, I think anyone could gain enough information and ideas to select or make placemate that would be appropriate to their home situation.
