The purpose of this study was (1) to analyze concept and types of residential mobility (2) to compare of the residential mobility in the fields of different disciplives, and (3) to develop a conceptual framework of residential mobility on the ecosystem approach comparisons of residential mobility concepts in many discipines. The major findings were each disciple played an important role to develop the concept of residential mobility with some limitations. A conceptual frame-work was developed on the basis of these findings.

The purpose of this study is to investigate changes of the kitchen lifespace in Korean family houses from the Old Stone Age to the Koryo Dynasty. The documentary research method was used for this study. The major findings were as follows the changes of kitchen lifespace in Korean family houses form the Old Stone Age to the Koryo Dynasty have been affected by natural, political, economic, technological, and socio-cultural environments. The Kitchen lifespace of these periods was categorized into six categories: the Beginings Period of the Kitchen, the Period of the Primitive Kitchen, the Formative Period of the Kitchen, the Enlargement Period of the Kitchen, the Separation Period of the Kitchen, and the Begining Period of the Traditional Kitchen.

The purpose of this study is to analyze housing and residential environment preferences of college students' first purchased house for the future Data was collected through self-administered questoinnaires and the sample of 797 college students was used for this study It was found that college students preferred their first purchased house to be a high-rise apartments, a 20-24 pyung(66.0㎡-79.2㎡) house, and relatively new house paced between 10,000,000 Won and 15,000,000 Won. They preferred the first purchased house located in a metropolitan and its suburban areas And college students valued a beautiful house m a green area, privacy, a well-planned house, individuality, affordability, and the importance of a healthy environment, as well as, being close to work and living near entertainment
주거공간구성과 소요된 가족교류시간이 가족상호간의 친화에 미치는 영향

The purpose of this study was to determine family life space and time use effects on family interaction. A questionnaire was developed through two retests and a field survey. Eighty-seven percent of the respondents living in apartments responded that family members gathered in the living room, but eighty percent of those living in 'han-ok (Korean style houses)' responded that family members gathered in 'an-bang(family room and master bedroom)'. Families living in apartments interacted more frequently on weekends than those living in 'han-ok', especially in household work, eating-out, family recreation, religious activities, shopping, outdoor activities, cultural events, sports, and visiting friends and relatives. Family lifespace was found to have no relation with the amount of total family interaction time and family intimacy. The amount of total family interaction time was correlated with family intimacy.

Despite the massive housing production since the 1990's, housing affordability of rental households has not been substantially improved. The objective of this study was to investigate housing consumption behavior of rental households. Numerous literatures pertaining to the subject were thoroughly reviewed. SPSS PC+ for window was used to analyze the data collected to Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements(KRIHS) in 1999. The major findings are highlited as follows: The results shows a statistically significant difference in housing consumption behavior according to household income, the age of householder, number of family. And estimation of the willingness to pay revealed that low income families are influenced on the rental price and the income elasticity of demand is high.
신도시로 이주한 거주자의 주거수준과 주거만족도 변화 분석

The objective of this study was to investigate changes in housing quality and residential satisfaction among the New Town movers. Numerous literatures pertaning to the subject were thoroughly reviewed, and a set of hypotheses was drawn therefrom. Methodology applied to the study included bivariate and multivariate analyses for both derivation of descriptive statistics and hypotheses testing. SPSS PC+ for window(version 6.2) was used to analyze the data collected by Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements(KRIHS) in 1993. The major findings are highlited as follows : 1) Regardless of the household income level and other characteristics housing quality has improved substantially by moving to new towns. 2) The level of residential satisfaction is increased as a result of moving to new towns. 3) Upward changes in housing quality strongly influence the change in residential satisfaction. Both variables to be highly correlated. 4) These most satisfied residents are those who moved to the large size of dwellings and they are mostly high income families.
