Effect of grinding depth on fatigue fracture behaviors of 40Cr steel
Jianzhi Chen,Guochao Li,Ning Li,Xiaoyan Guan,Yan Wang,Zhen Xu,Xiaoxiang Bai,Honggen Zhou 대한기계학회 2023 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.37 No.4
40Cr steel specimens were ground with different grinding depth (a p ) varied from 0 μm to 35 μm, and the rotary bending fatigue behaviors of ground specimens were investigated. Fatigue results show that the fatigue life of ground specimens exhibits an increasing first and then decreasing tendency with the increment of a p , the specimen with a p of 15 μm exhibits the highest fatigue life, and the effect of a p on fatigue damage behaviors of ground specimens were analyzed from aspects of surface roughness, work hardening and compressive residual stress. Multiple crack initiation of fatigue fractured specimens was observed, the number of crack initiation sites tends to increase first and then decrease with increasing a p . The relationship model between the fatigue striation width and the a p was established, and the prediction deviation of the model is ~2.08 %. It is expected that the model may provide new clues for optimizing the grinding process of mechanical parts.

δ-MnO2 materials doped with transition-metal cations (Zn, Co, and Ag) were successfully synthesized usinga hydrothermal technique. The structures and morphologies of the obtained oxides were analyzed using X-raydiffraction, scanning electron microscopy and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller measurements. Additionally, the electrochemicalproperties were evaluated through cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopyand galvanostatic cycling measurements. The results indicate that the pure and doped samples crystallize inthe δ form with a layered structure and that the Mn/Zn, Mn/Co and Mn/Ag molar ratios are all approximately1:0.09. Both the Zn-doped and pure MnO2 materials exhibit a petal-like morphology; however, the formerhas a higher specific surface area of up to 98.97m2 g1. Furthermore, the Zn-doped MnO2 exhibits a near-rectangularcyclic voltammetry (CV) curve with broad quasi-reversible redox peaks and a specific capacitance of182.9 F g−1 at a CV scan rate of 2mVs1. The Co-doped material exhibits a distinct spiny-fiber morphology, andthe electrochemical performance of this material is significantly worse than that of pure MnO2. The averageattenuation rate of the Ag-doped material is only 0.028% after 1000 cycles, which is lower than that of pureMnO2.

Using RT-PCR and rapid amplification of cDNA ends, two new full-length cDNAs of SAD (TaSAD1 and TaSAD2) were obtained from a hardiest winter wheat cultivar (Mironovskaya808). Sequence comparison analysis showed that the deduced amino acid sequences of TaSAD1 and TaSAD2 had high similarity to those of other reported SAD proteins. They were also different each other by some substitutions, insertions and/or deletions involving single amino acid residues or motifs. Based on evolution analysis, it was clear that all SAD genes from Poaceae were closer than those from other genus such as Arabidopsis,Glycine, Triadica, Brassica, Sesamum and Bassia. All SAD genes clustered into two major groups in Poaceae. Meanwhile,TaSAD1 and TaSAD2 were clustered into different groups. The tertiary structure prediction indicated that both TaSAD1 and TaSAD2 proteins were a compact globular protein and their model structures almost were the same.

The mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling pathway is upregulated in the pathogenesis of many cancers, including colorectal cancer (CRC). DEPTOR is an mTOR inhibitor whose expression is negatively regulated by mTOR. However, the role of DEPTOR in the development of CRC is not known. The aim of this study was to investigate the expression of DEPTOR and mTORC1 activity (P-S6) in a subset of CRC patients and determine their relation to tumor differentiation, invasion, nodal metastasis and disease-free survival. Here, Immunohistochemical expression of P-S6 (S235/236) and DEPTOR were evaluated in 1.5 mm tumor cores from 90 CRC patients and in 90 samples of adjacent normal mucosa by tissue microarray. The expression of P-S6 (S235/236) was upregulated in CRC, with the positive rate of P-S6 (S235/236) in CRC (63.3%) significantly higher than that in control tissues (36.7%, 30%) (p<0.05). P-S6 (S235/236) also correlated with high tumor histologic grade (p=0.002), and positive nodal metastasis (p=0.002). In contrast, the expression level of DEPTOR was correlated with low tumor histological grade (p=0.006), and negative nodal metastasis (p=0.001). Interestingly, P-S6 (S235/236) expression showed a significant negative association with the expression of DEPTOR in CRC (p=0.011, R= -0.279). However, upregulation of P-S6 (S235/236) (p=0.693) and downregulation of DEPTOR (p=0.331) in CRC were not significantly associated with overall survival. Thus, we conclude that expression of DEPTOR negatively correlates with mTORC1 activity and tumor progression in CRC. DEPTOR is a potential marker for prognostic evaluation and a target for the treatment of CRC.
