        TWO-SIDED Γ-α-DERIVATIONS IN PRIME AND SEMIPRIME Γ-NEAR-RINGS

Kazaz, Mustafa,Alkan, Akin Korean Mathematical Society 2008 대한수학회논문집 Vol.23 No.4

We introduce the notion of two-sided $\Gamma$-$\alpha$-derivation of a $\Gamma$-near-ring and give some generalizations of [1, 2].

A NOTE ON GRADED RING WITH PRIME SPECTRUM

ORTAC ONES,MUSTAFA ALKAN 장전수학회 2018 Advanced Studies in Contemporary Mathematics Vol.28 No.4

In this paper, we study some algebraic and topological properties of the complement Zariski topology of a graded ideal in a commutative ring. We also determine both algebraic and topological characterizations.

On the Classical Zariski Topology Over Prime Spectrum of a Module

Seçil ÇEKEN,MUSTAFA ALKAN 장전수학회 2017 Proceedings of the Jangjeon mathematical society Vol.20 No.4

Let R be an associative ring with identity and Spec(M) denote the set of all prime submodules of a right R-module M. In this paper, we study the classical Zariski topology on Spec(M) which is denoted by Τc. We prove that if (Spec(M), Τc) is a Noetherian topological space, then M has …nitely many minimal prime submodules. We characterize all the irreducible components of (Spec(M), Τc) and all the minimal prime submodules of M for a non-zero ‡at module M over a commutative ring R. We obtain some results concerning compactness and connectedness of (Spec(M), Τc) by using algebraic properties of the module M. We give some equivalent conditions for (Spec(M), Τc) to be a Hausdor¤ space or T1-space when M is a right module over a left perfect ring R.

Individual and combined effects of α-Pinene and a native diatomaceous earth product on control of stored product beetle pests

        Atay Turgut,Alkan Mustafa,Ertürk Sait,Toprak Umut 한국응용곤충학회 2023 Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology Vol.26 No.4

The development of alternatives to chemical insecticides has been an attractive topic in stored product pest management due to the limited number of options. This study examined the individual and combined activities of two promising eco-friendly alternatives, the diatomaceous earth product Detech® and the plant-based essential oil α-pinene, against Sitophilus granarius (L.), S. zeamais Motschulsky, 1855 (Coleoptera: Curculioni dae), Tribolium confusum Jaquelin Du Val, 1868 (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae) and Rhyzopertha dominica (Fab ricius, 1792) (Coleoptera: Bostrichidae) under laboratory conditions. Individual and combined insecticidal effects of Detech® and α-pinene were evaluated by their direct application to wheat or maize. Complete mor tality against S. granarius, R. dominica, and T. confusum occurred at 2 days with 10 and 15 ppm of α-pinene, while 15 ppm of α-pinene produced 100% mortality after 3 days of exposure for S. zeamais. The highest mortality with Detech® was 38.6% at 21 days using 500 ppm for S. zeamais, while it was 51.7 % against S. granarius, and 72.7 % against R. dominica. Detech® did not show any significant activity against T. confusum at any application level. Combined applications of Detech®+α-pinene demonstrated the highest mortality on R. dominica (40.4% mor tality), S. zeamais (27.9%), and S. granarius (18.5%), while no significant effect was found on T. confusum (1.1%). Overall, α-pinene was more effective than Detech® against all four tested beetles species. Combined applications led to reduced mortality.

Is Every Thyroid Antibody a Bad Sign?: The Complex Relationship of Antithyroid Antibodies and Obsessive-compulsive Symptoms

        Ali Caykoylu,Mustafa Ugurlu,Esra Kabadayi Sahin,Selcuk Akan,Gorkem Karakas Ugurlu,Ezgi Cisil Erdogan,Emine Ulku Alkan 대한정신약물학회 2024 CLINICAL PSYCHOPHARMACOLOGY AND NEUROSCIENCE Vol.22 No.1

Objective: Several immunological factors are emphasized in the etiology of autoimmune thyroid diseases and obsessivecompulsive disorder. Obsessive-compulsive symptoms (OCS) are commonly seen in patients with autoimmune thyroid diseases. This study aims to evaluate the relationship between OCS and antithyroid antibodies. Methods: The study included 145 patients with Hashimoto thyroiditis or Graves’ disease and 42 healthy controls. Thyroid function tests and serum thyroid autobody levels (anti-thyroglobulin [TG], anti-thyroid peroxidase [TPO], and anti-thyroid stimulating hormone [TSH]) of the patients were measured. The socio-demographic data and OCS of the participants were evaluated with Dimensional OCS (DOCS). Results: DOCS scores were higher in patients than in the control group. There was not found a significant relationship between free T3, free T4, and TSH levels and DOCS scores. Anti-TG positivity in females was associated with lower DOCS scores. Anti-TPO positivity in males had a positive correlation with DOCS scores. There was no correlation between sex and the presence of anti-TSH in terms of OCS severity. Univariate analysis found the highest OCS scores in anti-TPO positive, anti-TG, and anti-TSH negative patients. The group with the lowest OCS scores was found to be anti-TG positive, anti-TPO, and anti-TSH negative patients. Conclusion: OCS severity could be affected by different thyroid autoantibody profiles in patients with autoimmune thyroid diseases. While anti-TG serves a protective role against OCS in females, the presence of anti-TPO may worsen the OCS in men. Additionally, the co-existence of different antithyroid antibodies may affect the severity of OCS differently according to sex.

ON LEFT O-PRIME IDEALS OVER A NONCOMMUTATIVE RING

ORTAÇ ÖNE¸S,MUSTAFA ALKAN 장전수학회 2017 Advanced Studies in Contemporary Mathematics Vol.27 No.1

In this paper, we focus on a one-sided generalization of the concept of prime ideal in a noncommutative ring, which is called a left O-prime ideal. Some of its basic properties are investigated, pointing out both similarities and di¤erences between left O-prime ideals and their commutative counterparts. Mainly, we prove a noncommutative generalization of Cohen’’s Theorem for left O-prime ideals and that any left ideal in R is the intersection of a …nite number of left O-prime ideals of a noncommutative ring R satisfying the ascending chain condition on left O-radical ideals.
