Signal pre-processing and post-processing are some areas of study around electrical resistance tomography dueto the low spatial resolution of pixel-based reconstructed images. In addition, methods that improve integrity andnoise reduction are candidates for application in ERT. Lately, formulations of image processing methods providenew implementations and studies to improve the response against noise. For example, compact variational modedecomposition has recently shown good performance in image decomposition and segmentation. The results fromthis first approach of C-VMD to ERT show an improvement due to image segmentation, providing filtering of noisein the background and location of the target.

Structure and optical properties of vapor grown In2O3: Ga nano-/microcrystals
Sanchez, Diego Leon,Ramon, Jesus Alberto Ramos,Zaldivar, Manuel Herrera,Pal, Umapada,Rosas, Efrain Rubio Techno-Press 2015 Advances in nano research Vol.3 No.2
Octahedral shaped single crystalline undoped and Ga-doped indium oxide nano-and microcrystals were fabricated using vapor-solid growth process. Effects of Ga doping on the crystallinity, defect structure, and optical properties of the nano-/microstructures have been studied using scanning electron microscopy, microRaman spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy and cathodoluminescence spectroscopy. It has been observed that incorporation of Ga does not affect the morphology of $In_2O_3$ structures due to its smaller ionic radius, and similar oxidation state as that of In. However, incorporation of Ga in high concentration (~3.31 atom %) causes lattice compression, reduces optical band gap and defect induced CL emissions of $In_2O_3$ nano-/microcrystals. The single crystalline Ga-doped, $In_2O_3$ nano-/microcrystals with low defect contents are promising for optoelectronic applications.

The advent of smart manufacturing (SM) has led to the creation of collaborative environments with cyber-physical systems (CPS) that generate added value. However, the performance of combined industrial operations between mobile CPS such as autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and collaborative robots (cobots) is hampered by the high uncertainty between their relative spatial locations and the existence of heterogeneous communication protocols that create a barrier to their integration into production processes. For this reason, a novel contact system method (CSM) is proposed to determine the position of the AMR without the need for any additional hardware making use of an architecture that facilitates efficient communication between AMRs and cobots. For this purpose, a mathematical model has been defined to characterize the position of a spatial object with six degrees of freedom in order to calculate the deviation between the AMR and the cobot base. The proposed method has also been evaluated by quantifying the position and orientation error before and after applying the CSM. The effectiveness of the CSM method has been assessed in a real application case based on the feasibility of performing an assembly operation between a bearing and different shafts. The results show a significant improvement of 96.2% in positional accuracy and 85.4% in orientation compared to AMR accuracy. In addition, a 92.5% success rate was achieved in the assembly operation analyzed between a bearing and a shaft of the same diameter. Furthermore, the proposed architecture has enabled the coordination between the cobot and the AMR by automating the processes. Therefore, this work contributes to the field of SM by proposing a practical solution to the challenges of generating added value through the creation of collaborative environments with CPS.

This paper presents the free vibration analysis of 3D printed sandwich beams by using high-order theories based on the Carrera Unified Formulation (CUF). In particular, the component-wise (CW) approach is adopted to achieve a high fidelity model of the printed part. The present model has been used to build an accurate database for collecting first natural frequency of the beams, then predicting Young's modulus based on an inverse problem formulation. The database is built from a set of randomly generated material properties of various values of modulus of elasticity. The inverse problem then allows finding the elastic modulus of the input parameters starting from the information on the required set of the output achieved experimentally. The natural frequencies evaluated during the experimental test acquired using a Digital Image Correlation method have been compared with the results obtained by the means of CUF-CW model. The results obtained from the free-vibration analysis of the FDM beams, performed by higher-order one-dimensional models contained in CUF, are compared with ABAQUS results both first five natural frequency and degree of freedoms. The results have shown that the proposed 1D approach can provide 3D accuracy, in terms of free vibration analysis of FDM printed sandwich beams with a significant reduction in the computational costs.

Background: The aetiological relationship between human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and cervical cancer (CC) is widely accepted. Our goal was to determine the prevalence of HPV types in Mexican women attending at the Mexican Institute for Social Security from different areas of Mexico. Materials and Methods: DNAs from 2,956 cervical samples were subjected to HPV genotyping: 1,020 samples with normal cytology, 931 with low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (LGSIL), 481 with high grade HGSIL and 524 CC. Results: Overall HPV prevalence was 67.1%. A total of 40 HPV types were found; HPV16 was detected in 39.4% of the HPV-positive samples followed by HPV18 at 7.5%, HPV31 at 7.1%, HPV59 at 4.9%, and HPV58 at 3.2%. HPV16 presented the highest prevalence both in women with altered or normal cytology and HPV 18 presented a minor prevalence as reported worldwide. The prevalence ratio (PR) was calculated for the HPV types. The analysis of PR showed that HPV16 presents the highest association with CC, HPV 31, -33, -45, -52 and -58 also demonstrating a high association. Conclusions: The most prevalent HPV types in cervical cancer samples were -16, -18, -31, but it is important to note that we obtained a minor prevalence of HPV18 as reported worldwide, and that HPV58 and -52 also were genotypes with an important prevalence in CC samples. Determination of HPV genotypes is very important in order to evaluate the impact of vaccine introduction and future cervical cancer prevention strategies.

The objective of this article is to describe intraoperative pulmonary embolism during shoulder arthroscopy in a patient with previous severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection. Further, we describe how the pandemic has influenced the population by increasing the rate of embolisms. Awareness of such cases will help to increase knowledge regarding SARS-Cov-2 and to determine if such patients should receive routine antithrombotic prophylaxis.
