The occurrence of functional gastrointestinal disorders (FGIDs) is a formidable challenge for infants, parents, and healthcare professionals. Although data from the Middle East are scarce, experts consider FGIDs a prevalent condition in everyday clinical practice. The new Rome IV criteria revisited the definitions from a clinical perspective to provide a practical and consistent diagnostic protocol for FGIDs. However, the treatment practices for functional disorders vary considerably among Middle Eastern countries, often resulting in mismanagement with unnecessary investigations and treatments. In addition, the role of various treatment modalities, including probiotics such as Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 17938, in FGIDs requires further discussion and evaluation. During a consensus meeting, a locally relevant approach for treating common FGIDs such as infant regurgitation, infant colic, and functional constipation was discussed and approved by regional experts. The participants suggested a simplified treatment plan and protocol for general pediatricians and other primary care physicians managing FGIDs. This easy-to-follow standardized protocol will help streamline the initial management of this complex disorder in the Middle East region and even globally.

This paper aims to study the geometrical properties of the conharmonic curvature tensor of a locally conformal almost cosymplectic manifold. The necessary and sufficient conditions for the conharmonic curvature tensor to be flat, the locally conformal almost cosymplectic manifold to be normal and an η-Einstein manifold were determined.

In this paper, a generalized blind adaptive algorithm is introduced for multi-user detection of direct sequence code division multiple access (OS-COMA) wireless communication systems. The main property of the proposed algorithm is its ability to resolve the multipath fading channel resulting in inter symbol interference (ISI) as well as multiple access interference (MAI). Other remarkable properties are its low complexity and mitigation to the near-far problem as well as its insensitivity to asynchronous transmission. The proposed system is based on the minimization of the output energy and convergence to the minimum mean square error (MMSE) detector. It is blind in the sense that it needs no knowledge of the other users' signatures, only the intended user signature and timing are required. Furthermore, the convergence of the minimum output energy (MOE) detector to the MMSE detector is analytically proven in case of M-ary PSK. Depicted results show that the performance of the generalized system dominates those previously considered. Further improvements are obtained when multiple input multiple output (MIMO) technique is employed.
