Non-isothermal thermogravimetry (TG) measurements on melt-quenched $Bi_xSe_{100-x}$ specimens (x=0, 2.5, 7.5 at%) were made at a heating rate ${\beta}=10^{\circ}C/min$ in the range $T=35^{\circ}C{\sim}950^{\circ}C$. The as-measured TG curves confirm that $Bi_xSe_{100-x}$ samples were thermally stable with minor loss at $T{\leq}400^{\circ}C$ and mass loss starts to decrease up to $600^{\circ}C$, beyond which trivial mass loss was observed. These TG curves were used to estimate molar (Se/Bi)-ratios of $Bi_xSe_{100-x}$ samples, which were not in accordance with initial composition. Shaping features of conversion curves ${\alpha}(T)-T$ of $Bi_xSe_{100-x}$ samples combined with a reliable flow chart were used to reduce kinetic mechanisms that would have caused their thermal mass loss to few nth-order reaction models of the form $f[{\alpha}(T)]{\propto}[1-{\alpha}(T)]^n$ (n=1/2, 2/3, and 1). The constructed ${\alpha}(T)-T$ and $(d{\alpha}(T)/dT)-T$ curves were analyzed using Coats-Redfern (CR) and Achar-Brindley-Sharp (ABS) kinetic formulas on basis of these model functions, but the linearity of attained plots were good in a limited ${\alpha}(T)-region$. The applicability of CR and ABS methods, with model function of kinetic reaction mechanism R0 (n=0), was notable as they gave best linear fits over much broader ${\alpha}(T)-range$.

The study aimed to study the effect of the inflation rate, the real domestic product, the interbank lending interest rate, and the total deposits on credit facilities in Jordan for 2012−2021 through quarterly data. The study adopted the ARDL model. The study used the time series analysis method, as the study tests the stationarity of the time series. The results showed that the impact of inflation on the total credit facilities was negative. In contrast, the impact of each of the total deposits, real GDP, and the interest rate of interbank loans on the total credit facilities was positive and significant. The study recommended the need for the banking sector in Jordan to develop risk management mechanisms in a way that allows it to adapt to economic cycles and crises by conducting stress tests and developing scenarios that ensure the formation of sufficient provisions to meet emergencies. The study also recommended that the macroeconomic policy should be based on creating a stable macroeconomic environment that allows the efficient employment of resources in all economic sectors in a way that achieves high economic growth rates, which contributes to the promotion of economic recovery and is reflected in income. Hence, individuals have a greater ability to repay loans.

Background: In Egypt, breast cancer is estimated to be the most common cancer among females. It is also a leading cause of cancer-related mortality. Use of circulating cell-free DNA (ccf-DNA) as non-invasive biomarkers is a promising tool for diagnosis and follow-up of breast cancer (BC) patients. Objective: To assess the role of circulating cell free DNA (nuclear and mitochondrial) in diagnosing BC. Materials and Methods: Multiplex real time PCR was used to detect the level of ccf nuclear and mitochondrial DNA in the peripheral blood of 50 breast cancer patients together with 30 patients with benign lesions and 20 healthy controls. Laboratory investigations, histopathological staging and receptor studies were carried out for the cancer group. Receiver operating characteristic curves were used to evaluate the performance of ccf-nDNA and mtDNA. Results: The levels of both nDNA and mtDNA in the cancer group were significantly higher in comparison to the benign and the healthy control group. There was a statistically significant association between nDNA and mtDNA levels and well established prognostic parameters; namely, histological grade, tumour stage, lymph node status andhormonal receptor status. Conclusions: Our data suggests that nuclear and mitochondrial ccf-DNA may be used as non-invasive biomarkers in BC.
POSITION VECTOR OF SPACELIKE SLANT HELICES IN MINKOWSKI 3-SPACE

In this paper, position vector of a spacelike slant helix with respect to standard frame are deduced in Minkowski space E31. Some new characterizations of a spacelike slant helices are presented. Also, a vector differential equation of third order is constructed to determine position vector of an arbitrary spacelike curve. In terms of solution, we determine the parametric representation of the spacelike slant helices from the intrinsic equations. Thereafter, we apply this method to find the parametric representation of some special spacelike slant helices such as: Salkowski and anti-Salkowski curves.

Fly Ash (FA) as a Supplementary Cementitious Material (SCM) increases the sustainability of concrete by decreasing CO2 emissions from cement production. The present study investigated the effect of nanosilica (nS) on the properties of cement paste and concrete, especially those containing FA. Fifteen cement paste and concrete mixtures with 15% to 25% of the cement content replaced with FA and four replacement ratios of nS (1.5%, 3%, 5%, 7.5%) were examined. The compressive strength development was measured and water absorption properties were tested by immersion and capillary absorption to investigate their early-age and long-term properties. The results demonstrate that the addition of nS accelerated the reactivity of early-age FA-based concrete and increased the strength development of cement paste and concrete over those without nS. The use of optimal ratios of up to 5% nS with 15% FA significantly improved the ITZ in FA concrete and noticeably decreased water absorption and the sorptivity coefficient of the concrete specimens.

A new series of 3-(1,3-disubstituted-1H-pyrazole-4-carbonyl)-1,7-diphenyl-[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a]pyrimidin-5(1H)-ones 4 was prepared by reaction of the enaminone 2 with hydrazonoyl halides 3. The preliminary screening for antitumor activity of the synthesized compounds was carried out against Ehrlich Ascites Carcinoma tumor cells. The results revealed that the studied compounds 4 have low or no antitumor activity towards EAC tumor cells.

The aim of this study was to prepare fatty acid salts of chitosan (CS) and to evaluate the salts as matrices for sustained drug release and prolonged gastric retention. CS-laurate and CSpalmitate were formed by mixing saturated CS solution and aqueous solutions of sodium laurate and sodium palmitate, respectively, and collected by centrifugation. They were characterized using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy and differential scanning calorimetry. Different matrices as effervescent tablets were prepared using each of these CS-salts, CS and the corresponding physical mixtures of CS and the fatty acids. Sodium bicarbonate as an effervescent agent and ranitidine HCl as a model drug were incorporated into these matrices. In vitro buoyancy and drug dissolution were studied for the matrices in 0.1 M HCl. Tablets with fatty acid salts of CS showed both rapid and prolonged buoyancy (> 8 h). Comparatively, CS tablets exhibited a short floatation period (< 2 h) and tablets were completely disintegrated within 1 h of soaking. In addition, slow and prolonged drug release was achieved from tablets of fatty acid salts of CS with average drug release of 80.1 and 71.8% for CS-laurate and CSpalmitate, respectively. Rapid drug release (> 80% at 1 h) was exhibited by tablets with CS or the physical mixtures.

Thin films of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) that are 100e500 mm thick were prepared by solution casting method. Various ratios of 1-methyl-3-n-decyl-imidazolium bromide ionic liquid [MDIM](+)Br(-), were used as dopants (plasticizers) to control the conductivity of the PVA thin films. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) was used to indicate the detailed interaction of PVA with proton of the dopant in the blends. Ac impedance spectroscopy was used to investigate the impedance of the films within a frequency range of 10e106 Hz as a function of temperature between 298 and 425 K. Each film with a precise doping concentration was sandwiched between two stainlessesteel electrodes. The results showed that the electrical conductivity can be engineered by controlling the [MDIM](+)Br(-) doping concentration. Therefore, those films have potential to be used in flexible and cheap organic device applications.
Effects of Natural and Calcined Oyster Shells on Antimony Solubility in Shooting Range Soil

Waste oyster shells (OS) and calcined oyster shells (COS) were used to treat metal-contaminated shooting range soil, where antimony (Sb) leachability was assessed. Changes in soil pH induced by the amendments strongly influenced Sb leachability. Sb was immobilized by COS most likely due to calcium antimonate precipitation. This is the first time to our knowledge to report that COS can effectively immobilize Sb in the soil.
