This paper presents modeling and analysis of a PWM buck AC-AC converter The converter is modelled by using DQ transformation whereby both the static and dynamic characteristics are analyzed completely The feedforward-feedback control technique is also proposed to obtain instantaneous duty level change whereby very fast dynamic response is achieved. The simulation results show the validity of the modeling and analysis.<br/>

This paper deals with a simple structured power quality disturbance generator for nonlinear load devices. The proposed generator can be applied to the performance test of custom power devices. Voltage sag. swell, outage. unbalance and phase jump after outage are provided by the generator. The improving phase jump operating principle of the generator is described and analysed. The usefulness of the generator is verified through simulation.

This paper deals with a new voltage disturbance generator with nonlinear load for the performance test of the custom power devices. Voltage sag, swell, outage, unbalance and phase jump after outage are provided by the generator. The improved phase jump operating principle of the generator with nonlinear load is described and analysed. The usefulness of the generator is verified through simulation.

A new power quality disturbance generator is proposed. The proposed scheme overcomes the problem of voltage drop of the conventional generator in normal mode. Therefore, the output voltage of the proposed generator is constant in normal mode and the efficiency of the series transformer is improved. The proposed generator has good feature of simple structure, cost effective implementation, high reliability and easy control. The usefulness of the scheme is verified through simulation and experiments.

A new 3-phase voltage disturbance generator is proposed. The voltage drop of the conventional generator in normal mode can be reduced significantly. The output voltage of the proposed generator is constant in normal mode and the efficiency of the series transformer is improved. The proposed generator has good feature of simple structure, cost effective implementation, high reliability, high efficiency, and easy control. The usefulness of the scheme is verified through simulation and experiments.

This paper presents the circuit DQ modeling and analysis for bridge-type multilevel rectifier. Recently, a bridge-type multilevel inverter has been proposed and proven to be useful for high voltage, high power applications. However, the analysis for the characteristics has not been presented yet. This paper deals with the following topics; system description, circuit DQ modelling, analytic equations for the control and finally simulation results. The simulationl results show good agreements between exact model circuit DQ transformed model.

Automatic face recognition methods are based on the computation of similarity of face images which are represented as geometrical feature vectors or template models. In this paper, we developed a face recognition algorithm by using correlation technique with templates of face elements(eyes, nose, mouth). Our method of face recognition is mainly divided into two stages. In the first stage, the locations of each face element are detected. This process is for reducing the computational time in correlation process. In the second stage, input unknown image is correlated on the detected area with corresponding template, in which normalized correlation technique is used for reducing illumination effect in the image and templates. And matching scores are compared to obtain face recognition result. The experimental result shows the recognition rate of 95.75% for 225 testing images of 45 persons.
