In this study, three-dimensional finite element analysis of a powder metallurgy compaction process is carried out to find an optimized process parameters for a complicated cylinder block of a hydraulic pump of a 22ton excavator. The commercial CAE S/W for powder metallurgy, PMsolver, is used to simulate the compaction process. The compaction process and its analysis information are introduced in detail. Finite element predictions are applied to improving the process design and compared with the experiments. It has been shown that the finite element predictions are quantitatively in good agreement with the experiments in terms of density distribution.

A study on motion analysis required into rehabilitation of the patients. In general, motion analysis observed many infrared camera recoded movements of joint to put reflection markers. Such being the method, however, not only inconvenient but consume much time because patients put on reflection markers to take off theirs clothes and calibrate the marker position. For this study, in order to solve the problems, developed markerless camera system to support tracking for human organism movements that any equipment have not on body. This system is a quite outstanding speed and accuracy in motion recognition, and it has a convenient 3D images confirm immediately by markers not attach.

Powder injection molding(PIM) is widely used for many parts in the field of automotives, electronics and medical industries, due to the capability of net shaping for complex 3-D geometry. Powder injection mold design for the dental scaler tip, a component of medical appliance, was presented. In comparison with conventional machining process, powder injection molding has many advantages, specially in price and dimensional stability, for molding dental scaler tip which has complex geometry. Both product design and mold design for dental scaler tip were presented. The "rapid mold" concept was applied to manufacture the various forms of dental scaler tip.

In this study, an ultrasonic dental scaler tip produced by machining process was redesigned for the PIM process. An injection mold was designed and manufactured to produce the dental scaler tip by the PIM process.

Powder Injection Molding(PIM) is a cost-effective technique for producing small, complex, precision parts in high volumes. In this study, an ultrasonic dental scaler tip produced by machining process was redesigned for the PIM process. An injection mold was designed and machined to produce the dental scaler tip by the PIM process. The mold design was aided by CAE analysis. A PIM feedstock was made of STS316L powder and a wax based binder. The filling balance in the mold was checked by a short shot test with LDPE and the PIM feedstock. Production capability of the PIM process for the dental scaler tip was examined with the mold. PIM process turned out to be an excellent substitute for machining process to manufacture the ultrasonic dental scaler tip.
