An experimental study was performed to investigate the effects of partially premixing, varying the equivalence ratios from 1.36~∞, and swirlers with swirl numbers of 0, 0.28, 0.64, and 1.32, on flow characteristic and chemiluminescence of OH, CH, and C₂ in partially premixed swirling flames. The signal from the electronically excited state of OH<SUP>*</SUP>, CH<SUP>*</SUP>, and C₂<SUP>*</SUP> was detected through a band pass filter with a photo multiplier tube, and flow fields images were detected through a schlieren system. The results demonstrated that the flame height decreases and jet spreading angle increase with increasing a swirl number. The more momentum ratio and swirl number increase, the more decrease flame height, and the generation of sooting flame is promoted.

The Helicopter Anti-torque System, namely Tail Rotor System is generated a horizontal force to counterbalance with a torque from the main rotor system. It is required that the initial design of Tail rotor should have a thrust margin of 10% to a direction control ability after counterbalance with a torque from the main rotor system when the maximum power rise. At this time, Pitch Control System is enable to a direction control ability at the tail rotor System. This paper introduces the design of pitch control system and manufacture and carry out a experimental performance test at the real size scale of Tail rotor system.

Load analysis software enables to design wind turbines effectively and exactly. In this paper, Bladed software developed by Garrad Hassan and Partners is used for load analysis. When using Bladed software, many time is requested to input data which is called by pre-processing. So in this paper, pre-processing Is automated by in-house software(BX) With this BX software, we can reduce the total time for pre-processing about 90%.

The floating ring seal which is used in the high pressure turbo pump is frequently used in the oxidizer pump and the fuel pump of the turbo pump of the liquid propulsion rocket, because it is able to minimize clearance to decrease the leakage flow rate. Compared with contact seal, the floating ring seal has advantage of minimizing clearance without rubbing phenomenon. But, the floating ring seal has a tendency to increase instability in operating condition in the high speed region. In this research, we devised floating ring seal which is inserted bump in the outer surface in order to improve the stability in the high speed region. Through this work, we expect to improve stability of floating ring seal with increasing the direct damping coefficient of seal and decreasing the eccentricity ratio.

Performed fatigue strength analysis for Hub to get the targeted service life of 20 years. ANSYS is used to analysis. The major structure of bearing which connect the hub and blades is modeled using the element of LINK10. To represent the stiffness of LINK10 element, initial strain and diameter of LINK10 element is applied. Prior to calculating the fatigue damages, the influence matrix is extracted from the unit loads. The target service life of 20 years is achieved from the Analysis results.

Using yaw system, Wind turbine can face the wind to make it's electricity generating maximum and to make it's fatigue load minimum. So, in wind turbine design process, selecting optimum yaw system is very important work. In this paper, the yaw moments on yaw bearing, yaw drive and yaw brake were calculated. and From the result, the duty cycle was obtained. At last, using this duty cycle, optimum yaw system is selected.
