In the assessment of fatigue safety of the existing bridge structures, the maximum stress range should first be compared with the fatigue limit for the detail in question. An accurate estimation of the number of stress cycles experienced to date by the bridge structures requires knowledge of the traffic volume and history on the bridges. In this study, field stresses of a steel bridge under the actual traffic conditions were measured, and stress range was obtained by using the histogram recorder. The obtained data were analysed by the rainflow method and S-N curve. To establish the number of stress cycles and to convert the fatigue life into a length of time, the traffic volume survey was carried out.

Crack occurs at tension zone of concrete structure when the tension stress by applied load is larger than tension resistance of concrete, and structural crack occured by applied load shows the degree of load resistance. Because critical damage to structure can be occured by structural crack, the research on detection of crack is needed for structural safety. In this paper, we executed the laboratory test on measuring strain of RC beam's tension and compression zone, using strain gauge which is widely used on strain measurement of civil structure. By using measured strain, strain change and neutral axis change were analyzed to detect structural crack. As a result, the crack detection algorithm was proposed using trends of neutral axis position change.
비탄성거동을 고려한 콘크리트 구조물의 처짐 형상 추정에 관한 실험적 연구

The deformations of bridges, especially deflection contain a lot of informations about its health state. By measuring these deformations it is possible to analyze the loading and aging behavior of the structure. However, the current methods (such as LVDT, dial gage, optical displacement transducer, etc) are often of changeable application on site and have the limitations of installation. In this paper, the classical beam theory was reviewed and the deflections of structure are estimated using measured strain which is easy to acquire. The applicability of this algorithm was verified by simple type reinforced concrete beam test, and strain and deflection data were acquired by embedded strain gauge, attached strain gauge and LVDT. By this test, we proposed correction factor to estimate deflection of reinforced concrete beam after cracking, and analyzed about the generation of correction factor.

The concrete vacuum tube structure, which must maintain air-tightness, is manufactured in the form of a segment, and it is necessary to install the joints at uniform gap in order to assemble in the field. In this study, member tests were carried out to investigate the air-tightness performance at the joints of the concrete vacuum tube structures.
