        초등학생의 신체능력평가 컴퓨터 프로그램 개발

        The purpose of this study is to develop physical capacity evaluation program used the data of physical constitution, physique and physical fitness test for elementary school students, and to use the programs for effective managing of the physical capacity. The subject were elementary school S and 6 grade. This study was carried out from 1999 September to 2000 March, The program was made by Visual basic 6.0 and Crystal report 7.0 for Window 95/98. The development process were divided 3 stage; planning, design and development. The planning was included the draw out plan and the adaptation of plan. The design was included the draw out of design and the adaption of design. The physical capacity evaluation program and exercise guideline program were developed used by physical test data, The physical test data were included the physical constitution test(5 items), physique(5 items) and physical fitness test(5 items). The physical capacity evaluation program were development test data is provide normal and abnormal, fitness level, obesity level, percentage of fitness by the physical test data. The exercise guideline program is provide exercise item according to the fitness level of muscle power, cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, speed and the guide about the intensity, frequency, duration of exercise. This program can print the output about the evaluation of fitness. The physical capacity evaluation reports are printed out from the physical capacity evaluation program. The reports are included normal and abnormal, obesity level, fitness level, the percentage of fitness by the physical test data. This program would be useful thing on elementary school students by the elevation of functions and the effective exchange with the health reports program.

        소아환자발생과 거주지역 환경, 계절 및 기상과의 관계

        This study was conducted to investigate the association of the occurrence of pediatric diseases with environmental, seasonal and atmospheric factors. The data were collected at 5 pediatric clinics in Seoul and the Department of Pediatrics of Yongin Severance Hospital from May 1986 to April 1987. The results were as follows: 1. Vacation periods had a great influence upon the occurrence of pediatric diseases. 2. The majority of pediatric diseases occurred mainly in spring and autumn, not in summer and winter. 3. The higher the average relative humidity was, the less diseases occurred : and the higher the maximum change of daily temperature, the more diseases occurred. 4. In summer, the pattern of diseases varied along with the environmental factors(eg., toilet).

        칼슘인산염, 수산화인회석, 피로인산나트륨 혼합물의 우치 법랑질에서의 미백과 재광화 효과 평가

        Objectives: The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the whitening effect, morphological and structural changes, and remineralization of the enamel induced by 3 combined agents: amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP), hydroxyapatite (HA), and tetrasodium pyrophosphate (TSP). Methods: The study was performed on 90 bovine enamel slabs, which were divided into the 6 groups: negative control-distilled water (Group 1); positive control-opalescence F (Group 2); 10% mixed agent (Group 3); 25% mixed agent (Group 4); 50% mixed agent (Group 5); and 100% mixed agent (Group 6). Changes in the shade of the enamel slabs were evaluated using Shade Eye-NCC. Morphological changes were assessed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM) was used to determine the remineralizing effect of the three agents on enamel slabs. Results: The change in shade of the enamel (ad*) was noted to increase significantly with increase in whitening frequency in all groups. The value of Δn* was significantly greater in all groups except for the negative control group (P<0.001). SEM revealed that the control group, Group 5, and Group 6 had similar morphologies. The fluorescence lesion areas in the 4 mixture-treated group were significantly smaller than those in the positive control group (P<0.001). Conclusions: These results showed that the mixture of ACP, HA, and TSP was highly effective for bovine enamel whitening and acted by inducing the remineralization of enamel. Clinical significance: We evaluated the applicability of a new mixture containing ACP, HA, and TSP. This mixture would be highly useful in aesthetic dentistry because of its whitening efficiency, which does not compromise the enamel`s integrity.

        노인들의 의치 사용이 MMSE-K 점수에 미치는 영향

        Objectives: The purpose of the study was to investigate the association between denture wearing and dementia using a Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE-K) in the community dwelling elderly. Methods: The study subjects were 184 community dwelling elderly using Korean version of mini-mental state examination(MMSE-K). The variables included the general characteristics of the subjects, denture earing, number of mastication tooth, subjective mastication ability, and MMSE(dementia). Denture wearing was divided into two groups of the natural dentition including the fixed prosthesis and removable denture including the complete and/or partial denture. The data were analyzed by χ2 test, t-test, and binary logistic regression using SPSS version 22.0 program. Logistic regression was used to analyze the association of MMSE-K score and denture wearing, and 95% confidence interval was calculated. The subjective mastication ability was measured by Likert 5 points scale. Dementia was measured by MMSE-K. Results: There was a significant association between MMSE-K score and denture wearing. The odds ratio(OR) of denture waering was 6.01(95% CI: 2.824-12.784). After adjusting the age, gender, residence and education, OR was 5.53(95% CI: 2.364-12.935). Conclusions: This study showed a significant association between MMSE-K score and denture wearing in the Korean elderly.

        어린이 일상생활구강영향지수(C-OIDP)와 구강관리 및 구강건강행태와의 관련성

        이 연구는 일부 아동들을 대상으로 일상생활구강영향지수와 구강건강관련행태, 구강건강상태를 조사하였으며, 일상생활구강영향지수에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하고, 서로간의 연관성을 알아보고자 2012년 3월부터 5월까지 인천광역시와 천안시 소재 일부 학교 아동 200명을 대상으로 설문조사를 하였다. 그 중 설문조사가 완료된 175명을 최종 분석대상으로 하여 SPSS WIN 20.0 프로그램을 이용하여 분석한 후 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 일반적 특성과 C-OIDP 불편경험 항목 수, 구강건강관련행태와 C-OIDP 불편경험 항목 수는 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 없었다(p>0.05). 그리고 C-OIDP 불편 경험 항목 수가 많을수록 충전유치치면과(p=0.024), 우식경험유치치면이 많고(p=0.049), 구강 내 전체충전치면과(p=0.021) 구강내 전체우식경험치면 역시 많은 것으로 나타났다(p=0.047).이것은 객관적인 구강건강상태와 주관적 지표인 C-OIDP가서로 관련성이 있음을 보여준다. C-OIDP 여덟 항목 중 영향빈도가 높은 것은 식사하기, 치아 닦기, 웃기 순이었으며, 구강 내 전체 우식경험치면수가 많고, 지난 한 달간 잇몸 통증을 경험한 대상자에서 C-OIDP 항목점수가 높았다. 이것은 C-OIDP가 우식과 치주 상태와 관련이 있음을 보여주는 것이다. 이 연구는 주관적 구강건강지표와 실제 구강건강과의 관련성을 본 연구로서 매우 의미 있는 연구이며, 앞으로 C-OIDP에 영향을 미치는 다양한 요인에 대한 연구가 필요할 것으로 생각된다. The purposes of this study were to investigate the factors affection the Oral Impacts on Daily Performances for Children (C-OIDP) in elementary and middle school students, and identify the association between oral health-related behaviors, oral health condition and C-OIDP. A cross-sectional study was conducted in three schools in Incheon, Asan, Korea. A total of 175 selected children were interviewed by a trained examiner using a questionnaire. Oral Health Related Quality of Life was assessed by the Korean version of C-OIDP. Socio-economic characteristics, oral health-related behaviors, oral health condition and C-OIDP were verified using the questionnaire. ANOVA analysis was performed to determine the oral health and C-OIDP, and multiple regression analysis was performed to determine the factors affecting the C-OIDP. The activities with the greatest effect were eating (28.0%), cleaning teeth (22.9%), and smiling (18.9%). In the logistic regression model, the high item score of C-OIDP was associated with experiencing dental caries and gum pain in the past month. The more the C-OIDP prevalence item, the more the fillng deciduous tooth surface (fs) (p=0.024), caries experienced deciduous tooth surface (dfs) (p=0.049), total caries tooth surface (ds+DS) (p=0.021), and total caries experienced tooth surface (dfs+DMFS) (p=0.047). It can be concluded that the factors affecting C-OIDP are fs, dfs, dfs+DMFS, and gingival pain. Based on these results, we can improve C-OIDP to advance preventive practice.

        어머니의 자일리톨 섭취에 따른 자녀의 Streptococcus mutans 특성 변화

        Objectives. Streptococcus mutans ( S. mutans) is the major causative bacteria in human dental decay. Most children acquire these bacteria from their mothers by saliva contacts during the emergence of the primary teeth at the age of 2.5 years. Children whose teeth are colonized earlier by S. mutans show higher caries experience than those colonized later or not at all. Thus, the purpose of this study was to assess the effect of maternal use gums containing xylitol on the characteristics of S. mutans in children`s oral cavities. Methods. The mothers voluntarily participating in women`s oral health prevention program were divided into two groups (a control and a xylitol group). The xylitol chewing gum group had consumed 2 gum pellets, 3 times a day for 24 months, and then they were followed for 30 months. For children`s S. mutans analyses, dental plaque was collected at 6, 24 and 30 months after birth. Dental plaque samples were incubated in MSB plate and the prevalence of S. mutans was assessed. After isolation and identification, transmission electron microscopy and real-time RT-PCR were performed to analyze the characteristics of S. mutans. Results. The S. mutans prevalence increased in both of the groups over the study period, but the polysaccharides synthesis was decreased in the xylitol group. The expression of gtfB, gtfD and ftf were significantly reduced in the xylitol group (p<0.05). Conclusions. These findings indicate that chewing xylitol gum over a long period of the mother can prevent dental caries in their children by decreasing the gene expression associated virulence and the extracellular polysaccharides synthesis of S. mutans.

        포도당배지에서 DNA chip을 이용한 자일리톨 감성균주와 내성균주의 유전자 발현 비교

        Objectives: Streptococcus mutans (S. mutans) is the major causative bacteria in dental caries. Xylitol is an effective anticarious natural sugar substitute by inhibiting the virulence of S. mutans. However, longterm xylitol consumption leads to the emergence of the xylitol-resistant S. mutans (XR). The aim of this study is to analyze the difference of gene expression profile of xylitol-sensitive S. mutans (XS) and XR in 0.5% glucose containing TYE media, using a DNA chip. Methods: S. mutans KCTC3065 was maintained in 0.5% glucose and 1% xylitol containing TYE media, during 30 days at 37oC 10% CO2 to form XR. The same procedures without xylitol were repeated for the formation of XS. Both XS and XR were cultured in 0.5% glucose with or without 1% xylitol containing TYE media overnight and total RNA was extracted. RNA from XS was labeled with Cy-3 dye as control, and XR were labeled with Cy-5 as references. DNA chip was hybridized for 18-20 h at 42oC. Results: A total of 277 genes of DNA chip data were significantly increased or decreased in XR. There is a total of 174 XR up-regulated genes in 0.5% glucose and 1% xylitol containing TYE media, and a total of 103 down-regulated genes. For compare with results of DNA chip, 11 in up-regulated genes and 10 in down-regulated were verified by RT-PCR. The most abundant increased genes in XR were related to cell envelope, cellular processes, DNA metabolism, transcription, and protein folding and stabilization. The decreased genes in XR were related to amino acid biosynthesis, toxin production and resistance, energy metabolism, ribosomal proteins synthesis, and signal transduction. Conclusions: These results indicate that the difference of gene expression profile of XS and XR may be in existence. In particular, results of this study for XR up-regulated genes have a lot of similarities with the already published xylitol-related researches and other functional studies.
