본 논문은 상호작용형 디지로그북 체험을 위한 거리 기반 뷰잉 기법을 소개한다. 본 상호작용 기술은 기존의 아날로그 책이 제공 할 수 없는 디지털 피드백을 제공함으로써 사용자로 하여금 디지로그북에 등장하는 객체와 구성된 스토리를 충분히 즐길 수 있게 돕는다. 사용자가 가상의 객체를 손으로 만지는 행위가 가능한 접촉식 상호작용은 가상과 현실세계 간의 공존감을 제공한다는 이유로 선호되고 있다. 하지만, 동화책이나 그림 소설과 같은 이야기 중심의 디지로그 북에 이 같은 접촉식 상호작용을 적용할 경우, 사용자의 빈번한 개입과 물리적인 간섭 등으로 기존 스토리의 집중을 저해할 가능성이 높은 단점도 존재한다. 따라서, 이러한 단점을 극복하기 위해 사용자가 관심 있어하는 증강 객체와의 거리에 따른 비접촉식 상호작용을 지원하는 새로운 뷰잉 기술을 제안한다. 이러한 상호작용형 디지로그북 뷰잉 기법은 사용자가 스토리의 방해를 원하지 않고 몰입을 가장 중요시하는 스토리형 디지로그 북에 적합한 적용가능 기술로 기대된다. In this paper, we explore a novice distance-driven viewing technique for interactive experience on a DigiLog Book. This technique provides digital feedback by which a user cannot get from an analog book so it helps enjoy the DigiLog Book with augmented characters and its story enough. A contact or direct interactions that enable to touch augmented character by user’s hands are preferred by reason of co-existence between virtual and real world. However, in case of the story-oriented DigiLog Book like a fairy tale book or drawing novel, it has possibility for difficulty concentrating to the story by frequent interrupt and physical occlusion by the user. Therefore, to overcome this limitation, we exploit a new viewing technique supporting non-contact interaction according to 3-D distance between a user and interesting augmented character. We expect our interactive DigiLog Book viewing technique is suitable way for story-oriented DigiLog Book that considers immersive contents as important factor without any interrupt to its story.
