THE UNIQUENESS OF MEROMORPHIC FUNCTIONS WHOSE DIFFERENTIAL POLYNOMIALS SHARE SOME VALUES

MENG, CHAO,LI, XU The Korean Society for Computational and Applied M 2015 Journal of applied mathematics & informatics Vol.33 No.5

In this article, we deal with the uniqueness problems of meromorphic functions concerning differential polynomials and prove the following theorem. Let f and g be two nonconstant meromorphic functions, n ≥ 12 a positive integer. If fn(f3 - 1)f′ and gn(g3 - 1)g′ share (1, 2), f and g share ∞ IM, then f ≡ g. The results in this paper improve and generalize the results given by Meng (C. Meng, Uniqueness theorems for differential polynomials concerning fixed-point, Kyungpook Math. J. 48(2008), 25-35), I. Lahiri and R. Pal (I. Lahiri and R. Pal, Nonlinear differential polynomials sharing 1-points, Bull. Korean Math. Soc. 43(2006), 161-168), Meng (C. Meng, On unicity of meromorphic functions when two differential polynomials share one value, Hiroshima Math.J. 39(2009), 163-179).

Increased Progastrin-Releasing Peptide Expression is Associated with Progression in Gastric Cancer Patients

        Li Li,Xiaodong Yin,Hai Meng,Juanyu Hu,Zhengqing Yu,Jianyong Xu 연세대학교의과대학 2020 Yonsei medical journal Vol.61 No.1

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to assess the diagnostic and prognostic value of serum progastrin-releasing peptide(ProGRP) in patients with gastric cancer (GC). Materials and Methods: A total of 150 patients with GC (89 males and 61 females) were recruited, including those with stage I(n=28), stage II (n=33), stage III (n=50), and stage IV (n=39) disease; 50 healthy controls and 66 patients with benign gastric diseaseswere also enrolled. Levels of serum ProGRP, carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), and carbohydrate antigen 72-4 (CA72-4)were measured in all subjects. Results: Serum ProGRP levels were significantly higher in GC patients than in controls (p<0.001), and ProGRP was significantlycorrelated with tumor size, tumor node metastasis stage, differentiation, invasion depth, and lymph node metastasis (p< 0.005). ProGRP levels were significantly decreased after chemotherapy (p<0.001). Receiver operating characteristic curves revealed a sensitivityand specificity for serum ProGRP in GC of 85.9% and 81.2%, respectively. ProGRP levels were positively correlated withCA72-4 and CEA (r=0.792 and 0.688, p<0.05, respectively). Combined detection of ProGRP, CEA, and CA72-4 showed the best diagnosticpower for GC. Conclusion: ProGRP may be useful as a potential biomarker for GC diagnosis and therapy.

Protein Kinase C Mediates the Corticosterone-induced Sensitization of Dorsal Root Ganglion Neurons Innervating the Rat Stomach

        ( Meng Li ),( Lu Xue ),( Hong-yan Zhu ),( Hongjun Wang ),( Xue Xu ),( Ping-an Zhang ),( Geping Wu ),( Guang-yin Xu ) 대한소화기기능성질환·운동학회 2017 Journal of Neurogastroenterology and Motility (JNM Vol.23 No.3

Background/Aims Gastric hypersensitivity contributes to abdominal pain in patients with functional dyspepsia. Recent studies showed that hormones induced by stress are correlated with visceral hypersensitivity. However, the precise mechanisms underlying gastric hypersensitivity remain largely unknown. The aim of the present study was designed to investigate the roles of corticosterone (CORT) on excitability of dorsal root ganglion (DRG) neurons innervating the stomach. Methods DRG neurons innervating the stomach were labeled by DiI injection into the stomach wall. Patch clamp recordings were employed to examine neural excitability and voltage-gated sodium channel currents. Electromyograph technique was used to determine the responses of neck muscles to gastric distension. Results Incubation of acutely isolated DRG neurons with CORT significantly depolarized action potential threshold and enhanced the number of action potentials induced by current stimulation of the neuron. Under voltage-clamp mode, incubation of CORT enhanced voltage-gated sodium current density of the recorded neurons. Pre-incubation of GF109203X, an inhibitor of protein kinase C, blocked the CORT-induced hyperexcitability and potentiation of sodium currents. However, pre-incubation of H-89, an inhibitor of protein kinase A, did not alter the sodium current density. More importantly, intraperitoneal injection of CORT produced gastric hypersensitivity of healthy rats, which was blocked by pre-administration of GF109203X but not H-89. Conclusions Our data strongly suggest that CORT rapidly enhanced neuronal excitability and sodium channel functions, which is most likely mediated by protein kinase C but not protein kinase A signaling pathway in DRG neurons innervating the stomach, thus underlying the gastric hypersensitivity induced by CORT injection. The uniqueness of meromorphic functions whose differential polynomials share some values

Hydrogen peroxide is involved in abscisic acid-induced adventitious rooting in cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) under drought stress

        Xue-Ping Li,Qing-Qing Xu,Wei-Biao Liao,Zhan-Jun Ma,Xiao-Ting Xu,Meng Wang,Peng-Ju Ren,Li-Juan Niu,Xin Jin,Yong-Chao Zhu 한국식물학회 2016 Journal of Plant Biology Vol.59 No.5

Abscisic acid (ABA) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) are important regulatory factors involved in plant development under adversity stress. Here, the involvement of H2O2 in ABA-induced adventitious root formation in cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) under drought stress was determined. The results indicated that exogenous ABA or H2O2 promoted adventitious rooting under drought stress, with a maximal biological response at 0.5 μM ABA or 800 μM H2O2. The promotive effects of ABA-induced adventitious rooting under drought stress were suppressed by CAT or DPI, suggesting that endogenous H2O2 might be involved in ABA-induced adventitious rooting. ABA increased relative water content (RWC), leaf chlorophyll content, chlorophyll fluorescence parameters (Fv/Fm, ΦPS II and qP), water soluble carbohydrate (WSC) and soluble protein content, and peroxidase (POD), polyphenol oxidase (PPO) and indoleacetate oxidase (IAAO) activities, while decreasing transpiration rate. However, the effects of ABA were inhibited by H2O2 scavenger CAT. Therefore, H2O2 may be involved in ABA-induced adventitious root development under drought stress by stimulating water and chlorophyll content, chlorophyll fluorescence, carbohydrate and nitrogen content, as well as some enzyme activities.

      • Association of Family History with Cancer Recurrence and Survival in Patients with Hepatitis B-Related Hepatocellular Carcinoma (A Propensity Score Matching Analysis)

        ( Ju-dong Li ),( Xin-fei Xu ),( Jiong-jie Yu ),( Zhen-li Li ),( Hao Xing ),( Han Wu ),( Han Zhang ),( Chao Li ),( Ming-da Wang ),( Meng-chao Wu ),( Wan-yee Lau ),( Tian Yang ) 대한간학회 2018 춘·추계 학술대회 (KASL) Vol.2018 No.1

Aims: A family history of liver cancer is regarded as a risk factor for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) development. We investigated the association between family history and cancer recurrence and survival in patients with hepatitis B virus (HBV)- related HCC. Methods: Patients who underwent curative resection of HBV-related HCC between 2003 and 2013 from a tertiary hepatobiliary center in China were enrolled in this study. A family history was defined as a self-reported history of primary liver cancer in the first-degree relatives. Propensity score matching (PSM) and multivariable Cox-regression analyses were performed to compare the overall survival (OS) and recurrence-free survival (RFS) between patients with and without a family history of liver cancer. Results: Of 1,112 patients, 183 patients (16.5%) had a family history of liver cancer. A family history was not associated with OS and RFS (P=0.994 and 0.428) in the entire cohort. Using PSM, 179 pairs of patients with and without a family history but with comparable baseline characteristics and operative variables were created. A family history was associated with decreased OS and RFS (P=0.042 and 0.006) in the PSM cohort. On multivariable Cox-regression analyses, a family history was significantly associated with decreased OS (HR: 1.574, 95% CI: 1.171-2.116, P=0.003) and RFS (HR: 1.534, 95% CI: 1.176-2.002, P=0.002) after adjusting for other prognostic factors. Conclusions: A family history of liver cancer was associated with decreased OS and RFS rates after curative resection in patients with HBV-related HCC.

      • Is Surgical Resection Justified for Hepatocellular Carcinoma with Portal Vein Tumor Thrombus? (A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis)

        ( Liang Lei ),( Xin-fei Xu ),( Jiong-jie Yu ),( Ju-dong Li ),( Zhen-li Li ),( Jun Han ),( Han Zhang ),( Hao Xing ),( Han Wu ),( Ming-da Wang ),( Chao Li ),( Zheng Wang ),( Feng Shen ),( Meng-chao Wu ) 대한간학회 2018 춘·추계 학술대회 (KASL) Vol.2018 No.1

Aims: The prognosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) with portal vein tumor thrombus (PVTT) is very poor. According to the BCLC treatment recommendations, sorafenib or other palliative treatment (PT) is recommended as the first-line therapy when it happens. In real world, however, a significant number of selected patients with HCC and PVTT suffered from surgical resection (SR). Methods: PubMed, Embase, Medline and Cochrane library were searched for studies comparing SR with PT (including TACE, sorafenib, etc.) for HCC with PVTT, which were published before September 2017. Results: 4,810 patients from 7 studies were enrolled in this meta-analysis, which divided into the SR group (n = 2,344) and the PT group (n = 2476). When compared with the PT group, the pooled hazard ratio (HR) for the 1, 3 and 5-year OS rates of the SR group were 0.56 (95% CI 0.52-0.60, P=0.03), 0.56 (95% CI 0.53-0.59, P<0.001) and 0.55 (95% CI 0.54-0.57, P<0.001). For subgroup analysis, when compared with the mere TACE group, the pooled HR for the 1, 3 and 5-year OS rates of the SR group were 0.54 (95% CI 0.43-0.67, P=0.81), 0.75 (95% CI 0.65-0.87, P=0.25) and 0.76 (95% CI 0.67-0.88, P=0.25). Conclusions: This meta-analysis demonstrated SR had better OS than TACE or other palliative therapy for HCC with PVTT. SR may be suitable as the first-line treatment for selected patients with resectable HCC and removable PVTT.

Effects of Aqueous Extract of Schizandra Chinensis Fruit on Cadmium-Induced Change of Monoamine Neurotransmitters in Rats

        Zheng Lin Zhao,Guang Wen Zhao,Li Li,Meng Quan Li,Li Xin Guan,Xu Dong Yang,Hou Zhong Li,Feng Lin,Jong Rok Lee,Rong Jie Zhao 한국독성학회 2009 Toxicological Research Vol.25 No.1

The effects of aqueous extract of Schizandra Chinensis Fruit (AESC) on cadmium-induced changes of monoamine neurotransmitters in the different brain regions of adult rats were investigated. Male rats were received intraperitoneal (i.p.) administration of CdCl₂ (0.6 ㎎/㎏/d) for 21 days and sacrificed 7 days after the last administration. Concentrations of norepinephrine (NE), dopamine (DA) in striatum and serotonin (5-HT), 5-hydroxyindole acetic acid (5-HIAA) in cortex were measured by HPLC. There were significant decreases of NE, DA, 5-HT and 5-HIAA in Cd intoxicated rats (P < 0.05), while pretreatment with AESC (20 ㎎/㎏/d or 60 mg/kg/d, p.o., 30 min before CdCl₂) greatly inhibited the decrease of monoamine transmitters, respectively (P < 0.05). Also, AESC significantly increased the reduction of glutathione contents and superoxide dismutase activities in cortex induced by CdCl₂. These results suggest that AESC ameliorates Cd-induced depletion of monoamine neurotransmitters in brain through its antioxidant activity.

A Novel Ramp Method Based on Improved Smoothing Algorithm and Second Recognition for Windshear Detection Using LIDAR

        Meng Li,Jiuzhi Xu,Xing-long Xiong,Yuzhao Ma,Yifei Zhao 한국광학회 2018 Current Optics and Photonics Vol.2 No.1

As a sophisticated detection technology, LIDAR has been widely employed to probe low-altitude windshear. Due to the drawbacks of the traditional ramp algorithm, the alarm accuracy of the LIDAR has not been satisfactory. Aiming at settling this matter, a novel method is proposed on the basis of improved signal smoothing and second windshear detection, which essentially acts as a combination of ramp algorithm and segmentation approach, involving the human factor as well as signal fluctuations. Experiments on the real and artificial signals verify our approach.
