        Load models are one of important subjects in power system analysis. This paper established static load models by laboratory experiments for major load components. The model is verified by composite load experiments and field tests.

        A substantial portion of power system load is made of large induction motors. Accordingly, static and dynamic simulation of induction motors are very important in the power flow and transient stability analysis. The purpose of this paper is to report the development of computer simulation model using the steady-state equivalent circuit of induction motor. A proposed simulation model of induction motor lets simulation under wide range varying voltages and frequencies be very easy and exact. This model can be extended to include dynamic simulation of induction motor as well.

        This paper deals with the optimal weekly operation problem of a pumped-storage plant in order to determine the optimal pumping and shaving level which minimizes total fuel costs of thermal plants. A new algorithm based on the maximum principle is derived. From the results of and application to two sample systems, the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated.

      • 電力시스템의 短期運用을 위한 火力-揚水發電시스템의 最適運轉

        Large-scale electric energy storage which is economically feasible is even today possible only with pumped storage hydro plant and its merit is increasing with the increased share of base units such as nuclear power and large capacity thermal units. However, in spite of its economy only a few methods or algorithms of optimal coordination between thermal and pumped storage plants could be found in literatures. This paper proposes quite a simple concept of pumping level and peak-shaving level which minimize the total operating cost. Cost functions which contain levels explicitly can easily be obtained and it is shown that the optimization is very simple. The proposed method is demonstrated through an example system of which peak load is 2,400 [MW] and has 10 generating units. Optimal solution has resulted the saving of 22,605,000 [Won] per day.

        Traditionally the reliability index for generation planning has been used 0.7[days/year] in LOLP in this country. However, it seems to be time that the index should be reexamined as the scale of the power system has been grown remarkably during past decades. Reliability expression by LOLP may not be enough since it lacks information of such as severity of supply shortage. It can be complemented by other indexes, but these are not widely used due to their complication. This paper presents a result how supply shortage costs influence reserve levels of generation planning and that the appropriate level has been tried to be determined from those influences. New reliability index is suggested.

        Accurate identification of soil resistivity parameters are very important in the design of grounding systems. This paper presents a useful methodology for the optimal identification of soil resistivity parameter based on the pattern search method and least square concepts using a set of earth resistivity measurements by Wenner method. And, this paper developes a computer simulation program for the estimation of soil parameters in two-layer equivalent earth. Results are presented and compared with the results of other methods.

        A power flow solution program was developed based on the Newton-Raphson iterative technique. Although this technique has been widely adopted overseas, little attention has been given to it domestically. Memory requirement and matrix inversion are the main short-comings of this technique. In this paper, one dimensional non-zero element storage scheme was developed and achieved a great reduction in matrix memory. Further, matrix inversion was efficiently performed by using Choleski's decomposition technique.         정태 등가회로해석에 의한 유도전동기 부하모델의 개발

        전력시스템의 정밀 해석을 위해서는 부하모델이 정확하게 표현되어야 하는데, 이러한 부하 중에서 유도전동기 는 가정용, 상업용 및 산업용의 전 분야에서 가장 큰 비중을 차지하는 부하이다. 본 논문은 부하로서의 유도전동기에 대하여 복잡하고 어려운 시뮬레이션의 해법을 해결하고자 하는 노력으로서, 일반적으로 알려져 있는 유도 전동기의 정태 등가회로를 이용하여 정태특성을 시뮬레이션하는 새로운 부하 모델을 제안하고, 파라미터를 알고 있는 유도전동기의 특성실험을 수행하였으며, 이 실험으로부터 얻어진 데이터를 제안된 정태 등가회로 해석에 의한 유도전동기의 부하모델 알고리즘에 적용하는 사례연구를 통하여 제안한 정태회로 해석에 의한 유도전동기 부하 모델의 효용성을 평가하였다.
