Recently, mobile type small scale LNG liquefaction Plants are attracting much attention for various reasons. The Joule Thomson(JT) valve is an essential equipment for the liquefaction process. In order to improve the efficiency of JT valves, much research has been carried out on the analysis of trim structure. However, more studies are needed considering the real feed gas composition and the structure of housing and/or trim for applications in the real gas fields. This study represents flow & velocity characteristics, structural stability, pressure drop and mass flow rate of the labyrinth type JT valve using an actual feed gas composition of an gas field to optimize flow line design.
