이 글은 '아다다'라는 작중인물에 초점을 맞추어 「백치 아다다」를 해석, 평가해 본 것이다. 플롯의 분석에서 출발하여 욕망과 죽음의 의미로 종결되는 과정에서 얻어진 결론을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 「백치 아다다」는 Edwin Muir가 그의 「소설의 구조」에서 분류한 '극적 소설(The Dramatic Novel)의 특징을 잘 드러낸 작품이다. 그 극적구조를 추적해 보면 인간관계에 대한 아다다의 인식이 그녀의 행동을 결정하게 하고, 사건을 진행시키는 원동력이 되고 있음을 발견하게 된다. 암시와 반전을 통하여 운명의 명암이 선명하게 제시되면서 모든 인간관계에 파탄이 오는 극적 결말에 도달하게 된다. 그러므로 이것은 특수한 한 인간의 이야기가 아니라 보편적인 인생도의 성취이며, 이 인생도 속에는 인간의 비극적 진실이 제시되어 있는 것이다. 아다다가 ① 동이를 깨뜨리는 것, ② 수롱과 만나는 것, ③ 돈을 버리는 것으로 요약되는 사건 속에는 그녀의 행동이 갖는 의미가 숨어 있다. ①은 자기 존재의 의미를 확인하고자 하는 노력이며, ②는 현실로부터의 의지적 탈출이자 새로운 세계를 개척하는 능동적 주견이며, ③은 인간적 가치의 회부으로 설명될 수 있다. 이런 의미에서 아다다의 행동은 휴머니즘의 실현이라는 의미를 갖게되며, 「백치 아다다」는 인생의 보편적 진실에 바탕을 둔 인생관을 정립함으로써 고전주의적인 리얼리즘의 세계를 보여준다고 할 수 있다. 부분적으로는 '의지→노력→파탄', 전체적으로는 '출가→축출→죽음'으로 요약되는 구조적 특징은 아이러니칼한 인생의 단면을 보여준다. 자신의 부행을 행복으로 바꾸고자 돈을 버리는 아다다가 오히려 그 행위 때문에 파멸하고 만다는 이야기의 구조는 우리네 인생이 본질적으로 지니고 있는 비극적, 운명적 아이러니를 요약한 것이라 볼 수 있다. 아다다의 행동의 동기를 욕망으로 볼 때, 그 욕망은 인간성의 회복과 실현에 관계되는 의미를 갖는다. 앞서 여러 차례 지적해 온 바이지만 그녀의 욕망은 진실한 것이고 그렇기 때문에 그것은 정상인이 꿈꾸면서도 실행에 옮기지 못하는 용기있는 행동으로 발전하게 된다. 아다다가 돈을 버리는 장면에서 ‘소설은 유토피아를 갈구하는 인간의 소망을 대변한다'라는 명제를 정립해 볼 수도 있을 것이다. 아다다의 욕망은 존재논적 아픔을 극복하고자 하는 문제에 연결되기도 한다. 이 존재론적인 아픔의 최후의 해결방법은 아마 죽음밖에 없을 것이다. 아다다의 죽음은 아다다가 얻을 수 있는 최선의 길이었다. 아다다는 받아들이기 고통스러운 인생의 역설적인 의미를 우리에게 보여 주는 것이다.

중앙아시아 고려인의 소설문학 연구(1) - 공동작품집 ⟪시월의 해빛⟫을 중심으로

The Korean Diaspora Novels in the Central Asia (KDNCA) is the records of the life history since the Great Deportation of Korean diaspora in the Central Asia. Even when the writers deals with the subject matter related to the lives of the Far East, they use it to have the meaning to explicate and evoke their current hard life conditions. To be released from the fear of deportation, they had to show royalty to Soviet government and praise Lenin and Stalin. Also, they tried their best to assimilate into the Russian society. Their tragic survial history is vividly reflected in the writings of the diaspora in the Central Asia. The themes of KDNCA are closely related to the ultimate goal of establishment of Socialist Society. So the KDNCA describe the lives of the collective farm ideally and praise them to accomplish that propagandistic purpose. Some novels deals with humanism theme but even in those cases, they never fail to emphasize the socialist realism. This shows that they royally comply with the directions of Soviet communist government. Even in the case of the seemingly pure writings of KDNCA, this propagandistic trait is evident. But those kinds of literature cannot be underestimated in that it truly reflects the harsh life condition that they were under and the best efforts that they made to survive in that hard times. Though KDNCA does not meet the high standard in literary evaluation, it does not lose its meaning itself because it evokes the true survival efforts under the Stalin regime. KDNCA vividly describes the sacrifices that they has paid to survive in that hard situation. It is the witness records of tragic history of the diaspora in the Central Asia. 고려인 소설문학은 강제이주 이후 그들이 살아온 삶의 역사에 대한 기록물이다. 그 소재가 원동시절의 것인 경우도 그것은 현재의 그들에게 주어진 삶의 조건에 일정 부분 기여하는 의미를 지닌다. 강제이주의 공포로부터 벗어나기 위하여, 삶의 터전을 확보하기 위하여 소련에 충성하고 레닌과 스탈린을 찬양하며 최대한 러시아인들에게 동화되려고 했던 눈물겨운 이주의 역사가 그들의 소설에 고스란히 반영되어 있다. 그들 소설의 주제는 크게 보면 모두 사회주의 건설이라는 과업과 긴밀하게 연결되어 있다. 집단농장과 그곳에서의 삶을 이상적으로 묘사하고 찬양함으로써 사회주의가 지향하는 현실을 구현하는 데 그 무게의 중심이 있음을 이들 소설들은 잘 보여주고 있다. 이들 소설 가운데는 휴머니즘이 그 주제를 이루는 소설들도 하나의 큰 흐름을 형성하고 있지만 이 경우도 사회주의 리얼리즘과 직간접적으로 연결되어 있어 소련이 제시하는 문예 창작의 지침에 충실한 모습을 보여주고 있다. 이념적 영향과는 먼 거리에 있는 것처럼 보이는 작품들에도 이러한 현상은 예외 없이 나타나 있다. 그러나 그들 소설은, 적어도 그 시대를 살고 있는 사람들에게 주어져 있는 환경에서 그들이 추구한 최선의 삶의 방식을 형상화해 보여주고 있다는 점에서 그것은 진실성과 존재의 당위성을 얻게 된다. 고려인 문학은, 특히 강제이주 후 스탈린이 사망하기 전까지의 시와 소설은 고려인들이 살아남기 위해 선택한 생존 전략이었다는 점에서 문학성이나 예술성에서 다소 문제가 있음에도 불구하고 하나의 문학적 의미를 획득하고 있다. 고려인 소설은 그들, 혹은 그 후세들이 오늘의 위치에 이르기 위해 지불해야 했던 대가가 무엇이었는가를 실감나게 보여주고 있으며, 그 고난의 역사를 간접적으로 증언하고 있다.

It is very often necessary to search for similar parts during designing a new product because its parts are often easily designed by modifying existing similar parts. In this way, the design time and cost can be reduced. Thus it would be nice to have an efficient similarity comparison algorithm that can be used anytime in the design process. There have been many approaches to compare shape similarity between two solids. In this paper, two parts represented in B-Rep is compared in two steps: one for overall appearances and the other for detail features. In the first step, geometric information is used in low level of detail for easy and fast pre-classification by the overall appearance. In the second step, feature information is used to compare the detail shape in high level of detail to find more similar design.To realize the idea above, a multi resolution algorithm is proposed so that a given solid is described by an overall appearance in a low resolution and by detail features in high resolution. Using this multi-resolution representation, parts can be compared based on the overall appearance first so that the number of parts to be compared in high resolution is reduced, and then detail features are investigated to retrieve the most similar part. In this way, computational time can be reduced by the fast classification in the first step while reliability can be preserved by detail comparison in the second step.
