The present study was conducted to estimate the antioxidant activities, physicochemical properties and biological activities in Beauveria bassiana. Glucose was the most abundant in B. bassiana (15.2 g?L?1) of 3 day medium by the HPLC analysis of free sugar. Citric acid were observed the highest components in B. bassiana (276.4 mg?L?1) of 3 day medium by the HPLC analysis of organic acid. The composition of Glutamate was the highest among amino acids in B. bassiana (987.0 pmol?μl?1) of 3 day medium. Na was the highest among minerals. It was focused on antioxidant and anticancer activities of B. bassiana. The highest contents of total polyphenol (6.51 ± 0.04 ppm) and flavonoid (1.10 ± 0.06 ppm) were detected in the B. bassiana of 15 day medium. The IC50 value of DPPH radical scavenging activity was ranged from 263.4 ± 13.3 to 461.9 ± 23.9 μg?ml?1 SOD activity was ranged from 93.7 ± 16.6 to 99.8 ± 3.8 μg?ml?1. Also ABTS radical activity was ranged from 99.7 ± 1.2 to 156.9 ± 2.9 μg?ml?1 of which the strongest activity was determined of 15 day medium. Especially, 93.7 ± 16.6 μg?ml?1 of 15 day medium showed highest activity by SOD. In cytotoxicity test against three cancer cell lines, HepG2 (liver), MCF-7 (breast) and A549 (lung), showed the highest toxicity with IC50 values of HepG2 (127.8 ± 2.3 μg?ml?1) cell lines of 10 day medium. Also MCF-7 (129.1 ± 6.8 μg?ml?1), A549 (163.8 ± 4.1 μg?ml?1) showed the highest toxicity of 5 day medium. These data suggest Enthomopathogenic of B. bassiana culture medium could be potential candidate for natural antioxidants.

항Mycoplasma 항체와 한냉응집소에 의한 Mycoplasma pneumoniae의 진단학적 의의

1987년 1월에서 동년 7월까지 본 임상병리과에 M. pneumoniae의 감염을 의심하여 한냉응집소와 항Mycoplasma 항체가 소아환자 191명중 추적조사를 시행한 환자 48명을 대상으로 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 한냉응집소 만으로 M. pneumoniae를 진단하는 데에는 유용성이 떨어진다. 2. M. pneumoniae의 감염을 진단하는 데에는 한냉응집소치 보다 항Mycoplasma 항체가 더 감수성이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 3. 초기에 한냉응집소가 정상으로 나타나더라도, 추적조사에서 양성으로 나타날수 있으므로, 임상적으로 M. pneumoniae의 감염이 의심되면 추적조사가 필요하다. 4. 소아 폐렴에서 M. pneumoniae에 의한 감염이 많으므로(37.5%), 소아 폐렴환자에선 반드시 한냉응집소와 항Mycoplasma 항체 측정을 동시에 할 필요가 있다. A Study to evaluate the diagnostic significance of M. pneumoniae infection by measurements of cold agglutinin and antimycoplasma antibody titers is performed with 191 pediatric patients who have visited Yeungnam University Hospital during the period through January to July, 1987. Forthy eight of 191 cases made follow up tests feasible. The results obtained are as follows: 1. It is necessary to perform routine combined measurements of cold agglutinin and antimycoplasma antibody titers for the all pediatric penumonia caser since a large proportion of pneumonia in children is caused by M. pneumoniae. 2. For the diagnosis of M. pneumoniae infection, measurements of cold agglutinin titers alone seems to be les significant than to check both cold agglutinin and antimycoplasma antibody titers. 3. The measurement of antimycoplasma antibody titer appeared to be more specific than cold agglutinin test in the diagnosis of M. pneumoniae infection. 4. The present study urges the necessity of follow up study of cold agglutinin and antimycoplasma antibody titers for those who initially presented with normal titers in both tests, but are clinically suspected for M. pneumoniae infection.
